Analysts, law enforcement officials and, most of all, the media warned of potential riots and violence in the streets after Saturday night’s acquittal of George Zimmerman. Instead, in the hours after the Hispanic former neighborhood watch volunteer was cleared of murder charges in connection with the February 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin, protests across the country mostly were peaceful. Some awoke Sunday morning expecting to hear of overnight chaos, which was heavily hyped by the news media as a possibility — perhaps a certainty — as the verdict drew nearer. But that chaos never materialized,
`Might have turned out different if Tray´s folks didn´t get their million dollar payoff. That´s the endgame for people like this to begin with but of course they´ll milk the supposed racism for all it´s worth anyway.
FTA: "“We saw no violence in this country that was related to this case. We are very proud of the discipline this generation of young people has shown."
Really? In other words, we´re genuinely surprised they haven´t behaved like the uncivilized barbarians they usually are. We tried to get them to misbehave, but they wouldn´t take the bait, so now we´ll take credit for that, too!
Aren´t all those half-white presidents making all the white-histpanics mad about all this? And if you´re about to get beaten up and the thug is black, do you have to check and see if he looks like Trayvon before defending yourself?
After suffering through crates of eggs on its face and being admonished for carrying the One´s water even though he is always dead wrong, one would think that the media had learned a lesson. But no, they each grovel for a space on AF1 as it tours Africa and prepares for the trip to Martha´s Vineyard.
They won´t change, even on their inevitable path on the way of the dinosaurs. They might as well start wearing checkered suits and white shoes.

The lily white guilt liberal media is showing what out of touch antiques they are. While the majority of citizens of all races are living, working, and playing together, the old media coots are wailing hysterically about slavery & racism. Most, particularly the young, perceive them as crazy old uncles who should be locked up in the attic.
White liberals are cowards. They want blacks to do their bidding by rioting. I don´t believe the likes of Harry Reid, Obama or Al Sharpton would risk themselves to harm in the streets. They are the real racist who still treat the blacks as slaves to be used and discarded. Blacks are used as their instruments of hate just for their votes and political gain. In this case maybe blacks really weren´t that interested to stand in harm´s way over Trayvon Martin. Maybe the New Black Panthers have lost their H. Rap Brown sixties MoJo. Just maybe blacks didn´t feel that enthusiastic to have their houses, stores and neighborhoods burned for white politicians, the president and Trayvon Martin. The likes of CNN just might not touch that many people who believe their propaganda. I know one thing that jury got it right and Mr. Skittles did a bad thing on that rainy night when he confronted a ´cracker´ that was armed and got himself ´toe tagged´.
What is the race hustlers held a riot and nobody came? My personal theory is that it just takes too much effort. The perennially aggrieved these days are too fat, lazy and spoiled to go to all that trouble. And besides, it´s too hot.
#8, "They might as well start wearing checkered suits and white shoes." LOL!!
If the reporters would take their trucks, their cameras and their mics off the street and go home, the "rioters" would leave. It´s no fun for them if there is no one to take their picture, no one to shove a mic in their face and put them on TV.
The media, just by showing up, fosters and exacerbates this stuff.
I have one thing to say to everyone screaming "Justice for Trayvon!". Trayvon got his justice on Feb. 26, 2012. When you viciously attack another man and that man shoots you in self-defense, that´s called justice.
FAR: ´´In L.A., a large group managed to shut down both sides of the interstate. There were fires set, windows broken, in both states.´´
That´s nothing. A normal occurance in L.A. Any excuse is sufficient to get on the street to steal and damage stuff... Note that the cops, who are supposed to protect life and property, were laying low.
Riots and mayhem in N.Y. and Cal., you say...Hmmm....aren´t those places with very little chance of any "cracka" possessing a concealed carry permit??? I don´t believe here in Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, or Arizona there was any such civil disobedience, ´cuz we all got Guns.....too....
To the media, in the wake of something like the Zimmerman acquittal which they predicted would set the country afire, a group of more than 20 noisy people waving signs and chanting is a "large group rioting".
Re #20, no one is ignoring this. It just isn´t what the media is trying to portray it as. 80 people at the CNN building? That is not a big riot.
I was amazed that some lady preacher told her congregation that “ we need to raise our voices against the root causes of this kind of tragedy”. If that is what will cure this type of action, I suggest that she look into a mirror. Once that Martin´s background became public knowledge, it was clear that he was just another wannabe teenage thug. And he enjoyed beating up on people. Zimmerman wasn´t the first he attempted to beat on, just the first that had the means to strike back. I´m sorry that it ended that way, but it should be expected, especially in this age of more and more citizens who are armed and prepared to fight back.
This article is contradicted by tv and other media outlets today. Obviously stopping all freeway traffic in LA is a tad chaotic to the drivers. However, the always peaceful and compassionate Al Sharpton is now planning "protests" in 100 cities. He and the DOJ are promoting dissension and in my opinion hope very much that the protests turn violent. Otherwise their viewpoint is muted, just as the jury verdict accomplished. "Thinking" members of the Black community have got to know these actions are not beneficial to their common cause. Laws are in place already for the protection of everyone. Real Black leaders should speak out publicly AGAINST Sharpton and his vile racist and race-baiting activities, so that ill-informed folks don´t turn into criminals following his lead. Anyone note that Mr Zimmerman Hispanic- BLACK- and white based on his ancestry, NOT a White-Hispanic as portrayed in the hysteria producing MSM>
Polls are down and the Prez can´t get it up, huh? A useful political demonstration like Occupy, that is?
Funny, on this site it minimizes riotous, anarchist behavior in the streets and on Drudge, headlines scream the opposite. I read of 80 people in one city and 400 in another. Quite ignorable if the presstitutes didn´t have a political agenda?
The Trayvon Martin trial is a disaster for the black community. It was sketchy at best - a man shoots a teeage attacker. No fair minded normal individual without an axe to grind would even consider anything other than possibly excessive force during self defence. Now vitually every Hispanic and Anglo sees the African-Amercan community as so racist that they cannot be trusted with even the most basic legal, ethical or moral issues. Wow, I never thought I´d see such self destructive behavior.
Here’s a partial list of liberal "dog whistles" related to this case:
Referring to Zimmerman as “white” or “white-Hispanic”, as having “tracked” or “followed” Trayvon, as a “wanna-be cop”, as having “ignored a police order (or request) to stay in his truck”, as having “profiled” Trayvon for “being black” and “wearing a hoodie”, as having been “the aggressor”, or as being a “vigilante”.
Referring to Trayvon Martin as a “child”, as “unarmed”, as “armed with only Skittles and Iced Tea”, as “being gunned down”, as “on his way home from 7-11” [and ignoring that he bought 2 of the 3 ingredients (the 3rd being cough syrup) for making “lean” or “purple drank”], or as having “done nothing to provoke Zimmerman”.
Continuing to refer to Zimmerman as “a murderer” or as having “murdered Trayvon” “in cold blood”.
“Gated Community” with its connotation of being a compound of lily-white privilege.
“A black child is dead”, and “Zimmerman (or “the man who shot him”) goes free”.
“If the roles were reversed”, or “if Trayvon had been white and Zimmerman had been black”.
I still contend that Zimmerman’s Jewish-sounding name and that the incident occurred in a gated community contributed to the racial meme.
Since more and more has come out about St. Skittles´ thugish background, something has been roiling around in my head. It´s always been a puzzle to me, what made the thug-in-training so violent that night. What made him go after Zimmerman. I think I know.
I think Martin was not only staying at Brandy´s townhouse, I think he was also using his time there to case the complex for burglary. I think his intention that night was to drop off the Skittles and watermelon drink to the young kid, and then go back out and do a little breaking and entering. Zimmerman thwarted his plan, and that´s what made him mad.
Since the word got out about the stolen jewelry and burglary tools in the bookbag at school, that´s how I´ve put it together.
I think the kid was a powder keg, it didn´t take much to set him off, and when Zimmerman saw him skulking around the complex, he knew he was being watched, the plan to burglarize a residence was shot down, and he got mad.
I´ve never seen him as being so kind as to volunteer to walk a mile in the rain to a convenience store for his little "brother." He had something altogether different in mind. I could be wrong . . .
FTA - President Obama released a rare statement Sunday on a local crime story that doesn’t yet officially involve the federal government.
Rare statement? This POTUS can´t keep his mouth shut about "local" issues. I cannot think in 8 years in office if President Bush mentioned local politics in such a divisive and destructive manner as this POS.
#39 ~ youthful thieves usually have the backing of a Fagin-like person who arranges marketing opportunities. (note: that´s not usually the case with youthful vandals)
More likely Trayvon was not working alone but had, in fact, done what he was told ~ heavy rain that evening was good cover for some casing. The only reason he was in that town rather than a Miami suburb was because he was kicked out of school for hitting a bus driver, etc!
I believe Martin and the girlfriend have moved on to someone else´s neighborhood ~ she was just renting.
BTW, a minor thing, but when you go looking for the nearest 7/11 to that community you´ll find you are led to a different one than the one Trayvon visited. However, a pedestrian on foot would find it the closest. Just one of the problems involved in doing internet forensics ~ the search algorithms think you are driving a car. Some of the earliest information concerning the whens and hows of where Zimmerman first spied Martin are interesting to research ~ and there´s a couple of security videos of Martin at the 7/11 about which there are numerous commentaries. I think they are off the target but he does seem to have encountered some older guys, and that´s quite in line with the idea he was involved in a burglary ring.
I don´t doubt there´s been some smashing and rioting, but compared to the Rodney King debacle, this has been very minor. The press can´t quite believe that the magic spell didn´t work the second time, and they didn´t have dramatic footage of burning city blocks to fill the hours and days after the trial. And I´m sure Obama was practicing his "look concerned" act and had a speech on how "This is a crisis and the government must!" and it´s all wasted.
I think the air went out of the race hustlers´ game when Zimmerman´s big dumb girlfriend testified. She was so grossly ignorant and slatternly, and illiterate to boot, I think even blacks who´d been successfully brainwashed to believe the racist narrative shuddered with embarrassment and turned away. Once we knew her, we knew Trayvon, and the game was up.
HOT SPRINGS, Ark.—On a recent late-fall Saturday, Barbara Deuschle, a local restaurant owner, was recounting her first impression of her congressman, Tom Cotton, who is now running for the Senate. It was back in August 2011, just before the young Republican lawmaker formally announced his first campaign for the House, and Cotton and his dad came to a party meeting to get to know the faithful. Cotton was a 34-year-old political unknown who had recently lived in Washington. "When he just parachuted down into this district, nobody ever heard of him," she recalls. "I said, ´Who are you? We´d never
WASHINGTON — Taxpayers can expect to get stuck with a more than $1 billion bill for the creation and repair of the federal ObamaCare Web site, a top House Republican warned. “The fact is, eventually they’ll get this Web site working at the cost of probably over a billion dollars,” House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (Calif.) said on Fox News Channel. The Obama administration did not respond to The Post’s questions Thursday about the tab for the round-the-clock “tech surge” deployed in mid-October to repair HealthCare.gov. The cost of building the bug-ridden site, which launched Oct.
On the list of scandals that plagued the Obama administration this past year, Benghazi has been the one the White House, Democrats, and their cheerleaders in the mainstream media dismissed with the greatest of ease. Unlike the IRS scandal, which though it has faded from the news had obvious constitutional and political implications, or the various spying scandals involving news organizations and the National Security Agency, which outraged large numbers of ordinary Americans, Benghazi was put down as a manufactured story that had little traction. Part of it was due to the obsessive, though understandable, focus of Republicans on the
No disrespect to Macaulay Culkin (#ALLDISRESPECTTOTHEPIGEONLADY), but we prefer The Pet Collective´s retelling of Home Alone to the original movie. Mostly because Kevin McCallister is now played by an adorable pug puppy. And if a pug puppy setting booby traps for teddy bear burglars isn´t adorable enough for you, the video also narrated by a small child. So forget Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. Forget Elf. This is the only Christmas movie you need to watch this year. (Snip for video)As you might suspect, the pug, named Jackson Rosa, could not be more over it...
I’m not sure what Chris Matthews was doing with President Obama yesterday, but it wasn’t hardball. It wasn’t even softball. It was more like wiffle ball. Everyone knew going in that the MSNBC host would be a sympathetic interviewer. But he knew he would be graded on his aggressiveness, so I expected at least a few fastballs. Uh uh. Instead, in a half-hour sitdown, there was one challenging question. Just one. It was as though Matthews was channeling Jay Carney. Matthews is a likable guy with a passion for politics, but he left his interviewing chops at the door. The
WASHINGTON — Sen. Ted Cruz, elected 13 months ago by actual voters, said Thursday he’d prefer to see state legislators pick U.S. senators – as they were until a century ago, when the 17th Amendment came along. Direct election of senators has eroded states’ rights, Cruz argued, speaking to a ballroom filled with conservative state lawmakers from around the country. “If you have the ability to hire and fire me,” he said, “I’m a lot less likely to break into your house and steal your television. So there’s no doubt that was a major step toward the explosion of federal power and
I´m sitting at my desk, looking at a photograph of a gangrenous foot. It is a bloated thing in hues of phlegmatic gray rot, sanguine inflammation, melancholic black bile, and choleric open sores — exhibiting all the humors of a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council. Above the photograph, in bold white capitals on a dull, matte background are the words “smoking causes peripheral vascular disease.” The photograph is helpfully labeled “gangrene.” Below the photograph, in a bland sans-serif typeface with letters an eighth of an inch high, is “Marlboro Red.” This is a pack of Australian cigarettes,
Come January, when some number of Americans have bought insurance on the new health exchanges and are starting to use the services, you can expect another controversy to arise when many of them find out just how few doctors and hospitals they have access to. Call it “doc shock,” though the biggest outcry will not come when people try to schedule an appointment with their physician, but when someone gets sick and they learn they cannot go to whatever top-notch hospital they want, only to the hospital that is included in their plan. The problem varies across the country. In Washington,
Last month in San Francisco, President Obama called on Congress to enact comprehensive immigration reform. His speech was novel in many respects: The president used the backdrop of a community center in Chinatown to remind voters that immigrants are racially diverse. Also, for the first time in prepared remarks, the president signaled that he would consider a piecemeal approach to immigration reform long favored by Republican leaders in the House of Representatives. What got the most attention, however, was an unscripted exchange between Obama and Ju Hong, an undocumented UC Berkeley graduate who interrupted the president, calling on him to use
No matter how you spell it, ice is a four letter word Friday. Just ask folks living anywhere from Texas to Tennessee. Those areas are in the bulls eye of a treacherous ice storm, threatening to coat everything in its path with up to an inch of frozen water. Ice is slippery, but also heavy. It tends to bring down tree limbs and power lines when accumulations get thick. In Tennessee, Memphis Light, Gas and Water has 426,000 customers and is ready for the worst. "MLGW employees have been monitoring this winter storm situation and we have all of our
U.S. authorities have charged 49 Russian diplomats and their spouses with conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud, alleging that they stole $1.5 million from the American government via a years-long Medicaid scam. According to a criminal complaint made public today, the former and current diplomats lied about their income and citizenship status in order to qualify for the health benefits, which they used towards pregnancy care, births, and post-natal medical needs. They were also charged with conspiracy to steal government funds and make false statements relating to health care matters, reports the Associated Press. The complaint notes that medical costs associated with
Seduced and then disappointed by a hipster who turned out just to be another solipsistic boomer, now chastened yet still hopeful for change (if no longer swept away by the promise of Hope and Change), young Americans are ready to ditch Barack Obama. Things had been getting rocky for a while, but seeing the dawning of the Age of Obamacare in its full glory seems to have been the final indignity. The young will of course never acknowledge that maybe their old-fogey parents were right all along, but they do understand that what they thought was going to be a
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
Last summer on his $100 million family tour of Africa, Barack Obama hoped for a priceless photo op with Nelson Mandela, the ailing freedom pioneer who went from prison cell to the presidency of South Africa. Mandela´s family suggested that wouldn’t happen. So, the Obamas did a photo op in Mandela´s former prison cell. Which Obama’s White House quickly tweeted upon word of the icon´s passing at 95. [Skip] But Obama was also caught staring at television coverage of Mandela’s passing, which became Obama’s Photo of the Day.
Hardly a week goes by without Hillary Clinton receiving another award. Last month she was named a “Global Champion” by the International Medical Corps, received the American Patriot Award at the National Defense University Foundation and the Hermandad Award from the Mexican American Leadership Initiative. [Snip] At this rate, if a bunch of elderly left-wing Swedes toss her the Nobel Peace Prize early on, the way they did to Obama, it will barely rate mention among all the other glittering trophies that have been bestowed on a woman whose only actual accomplishment was being married to a crooked governor with
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
Speaker John Boehner said his party should support gay Republican congressional candidates and urged his colleagues to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women. “Some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be,” Boehner said. When asked if he thinks his party should support gay candidates, Boehner simply said: “I do.”
In February, the Bush family’s personal emails were hacked by Guccifer, a hacker who uncovered photographs of former President George H. W. Bush in a hospital bed and George W. Bush’s oil paintings in the process. It seems Guccifer has struck again, this time targeting former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Library. The hacker has reportedly uncovered doodles of Clinton drawing on what were, at the time, classified documents. Among the doodles is apparently a picture of a penis. The document uncovered is a briefing of the strategic measures the United States could take prior Clinton’s decision to intervene in
Amid an array of “knock-out” attacks against a number of Jews in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a city councilwoman pointed to the success of the Jewish community as triggering the aggression. Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo emphasized that while she “admire[s] the Jewish community immensely” for its work ethic, black teens may see it differently. “While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success,” Cumbo, who was recently elected, wrote in a letter. Chief among the issues
On Tuesday, The Boston Globe reported that Onyango “Omar” Obama, uncle to President Obama, says that his famous nephew stayed with him while a student at Harvard Law School in the 80s, in contradiction to The White House’s contention that the two had never met. At Thursday’s White House daily briefing, Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed that the President had, in fact, briefly stayed with “his father’s half-brother,” as Carney described Omar Obama, and that no one had actually asked the President about it when the White House initially commented. The 69 year-old Omar Obama has been facing deportation back
The world premiere of the “Ballad for Trayvon Martin for Orchestra and Jazz Quartet” is set for tonight. Princeton University’s director of its jazz-studies program composed the work in honor of the Florida teen. Anthony D. J. Branker told the Star-Ledger that the piece is intended to “be a form of healing” after Martin’s death and the controversial court case that followed it. The ballad, which will be performed by the university’s official orchestra and jazz ensemble, is intended to be a tribute to victims of racial violence, Branker explained. He hopes that the performance will be “one that speaks to
WASHINGTON – A fourth straight month of solid hiring cut the U.S. unemployment rate to a five-year low of 7 percent in November, an encouraging sign for the economy. The Labor Department says employers added 203,000 jobs, nearly matching October´s revised gain of 200,000. The job gains helped lower the unemployment rate from 7.3 percent in October. The strengthening job market is likely to fuel speculation that the Federal Reserve may start to scale back its bond purchases when it meets later this month. The economy has now generated an average of 204,000 jobs from August through November. That´s up
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has high praise for potential 2016 contenders Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. “I think Joe Biden will go down in history as one of the best vice presidents ever, and he has been with me, at my side, in every tough decision that I’ve made,” Obama told MSNBC in an interview Thursday held at American University. “Hillary, I think, will go down in history as one of the finest secretaries of state we’ve ever had, and helped to transition us away from a deep hole that we were in,
