Zimmerman lawyer to move
‘asap’ against NBC News

Washington Post, by Erik Wemple

Original Article

Posted By:Desert Fox, 7/14/2013 7:20:11 PM

Last night’s not-guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman trial will enable the neighborhood-watch volunteer to resume his case against NBC News for the mis-editing of his widely distributed call to police. Back in December, Zimmerman sued NBC Universal Media for defamation over the botched editing, which depicted him as a hardened racial profiler. Here’s how NBC News, in a March 27, 2012, broadcast of the “Today” show, abridged the tape of Zimmerman’s comments to a police dispatcher on the evening of Feb. 26, 2012: Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.

Good! I hope he wins $300 million for what they´ve done. Maybe it will teach them a lesson to stop manipulating the news.

Better yet, they should file a complaint with the FCC and have their license revoked!

Right.. and ´asap´ isn´t soon enough to diffuse some of the whining and moaning going on. And hopefully this particular suit isn´t putting tooo fine a point on it for the lo-fo´s - or like Wapo, the perpetually in denial and in need of frequent in your face reminders of the truth of the matter.

Most of the reporting that made the nightly Alphabet News depicted GZ as a racist Paul Kersey wannabe, a good deal more sinister than a neighborhood watch volunteer who was forced to use deadly force to defend himself after sustaining a beating of perhaps a minute in duration.

The reporting in this case that stirred up such resentment in all parts of the population was far lower on the moral scale than mere unprofessional behavior so long and so assiduously practiced by a group that the callow Sen. Durbin calls "professional" without even a trace of cross-eyed, buck-toothed insincerity.

No, it´s worse than that. The misinformation has been disinformation in the old Soviet sense of the word, malicious, and intended to succor the top Sharptonian alphacattle in Loud Grievance, Inc. and to fatten certain select choice cuts of Victim that will multiply to feed the masses. You know who the messiah is. Minister Louis Farrakhan said so.

By the time the last defamation suit against the soon to be defendant networks has been settled, Zimmerman ought to own the equivalent of a couple of Manhattan skyscrapers plus Puerto Rico.

They should expand the suit to include MSNBC and their resident chief racist, Al Sharpton. Then go after every media outlet that continuously ran the picture of Trayvon as a 12 year old. Hitting them in the wallet may make them think twice before inflaming racial hatred (not really).

What usually saves a media outlet is the difficulty proving malice. They play coy and stupid and get away with just about anything. However, with the hatchet job everyone did on Zimmerman, in the face of contradictory facts, it would seem that proving malice would be almost a slam dunk. Once he has finished with the first couple media entities, then it will be time to move on private citizens and celebrity talking heads who libeled and slandered him. Good luck to him.

Just ahead of a possible Hillary run for the presidency, the Clinton Library released a new load of documents from President Bill Clinton’s years in the White House. One of those documents attempts to explain Hillary´s "vast right-wing conspiracy" claim in which the Clinton administration accused Republican staffers of colluding with "extremists" on the Internet to hurt the Clintons. On January 27, 1998, Hillary Clinton appeared on NBC´s Today Show. As the nation awaits Hillary Clinton´s decision of whether or not she will run for president in 2016, a cache of 7,500 pages of newly released documents from Bill Clinton´s years in the White House show some familiar political themes. One revelation is that Bill Clinton worried that a massive new healthcare scheme would cause Americans to lose their insurance. In 1993, the President allowed his wife, first lady Hillary Clinton, to become the face of an Obamacare-like takeover of the nation´s healthcare system. The plan was sarcastically dubbed Hillarycare. WASHINGTON AND NEW YORK - In September 2001, as the U.S. reeled from the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, Vladimir Putin supported Washington´s imminent invasion of Afghanistan in ways that would have been inconceivable during the Cold War. He agreed that U.S. planes carrying humanitarian aid could fly through Russian air space. He said the U.S. military could use airbases in former Soviet republics in Central Asia. And he ordered his generals to brief their U.S. counterparts on their own ill-fated 1980s occupation of Afghanistan. During Putin´s visit to President George W. Bush´s Texas ranch two

Political debate in America last week revolved around whether or not Jeb Bush, Florida´s former governor who is son or brother to two former US presidents – both named George – would jump into the 2016 battle for the Republican presidential nomination. For a nation that fought a war for independence from the hereditary power of the British Crown, in the person of another fellow named George, the concept of nominating a third Bush to run for the White House against a second Clinton (the former

Alert shoppers are accustomed to watching food prices go up and down. But a string of forces—from droughts to diseases—is raising the cost of a trip to the grocery store at a rapid clip. And it looks like it will be a while before the price pressure eases. That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

As he moves from lobbyists to the golf course, from press conferences to the tanning bed, he remains oblivious to all that is around him. He has power, incredible power, and yet to this day he has no understanding of the election that made it so. Moreover, all around him are astonishing opportunities for him to be an historic figure -- one who could and should be the man who did more than any other single person in turning back the red tide of Obama. It’s all there for Speaker of the House, and yet John Boehner manages to miss

If the Rev. John DeBonville could preach a sermon to lift the souls of churchgoers across America, his message would be simple: Stop dressing so tacky for church. DeBonville has heard about the “come as you are” approach to dressing down for Sunday service, but he says the Sabbath is getting too sloppy. When he scans the pews of churches, DeBonville sees rows of people dressed in their Sunday worst. They saunter into church in baggy shorts, flip-flop sandals, tennis shoes and grubby T-shirts. Some even slide into the pews carrying coffee in plastic foam containers as if they’re going to Starbucks. “It’s like

President Obama asserts that 8 million people have signed up for Obamacare, as though that were something to be proud of. In fact, Obamacare has always been a fiasco from a fiscal perspective–a black hole of subsidies and expanded Medicaid, with largely fictitious mechanisms in place to pay for it. As the number of subsidized participants grows, the disaster gets worse. Charles Blahous explains: Our national discussion…is missing the truly significant story here; what is unfolding before our eyes is a colossal fiscal disaster, poised to haunt legislators and taxpayers for decades to come. It is quite possible that the ACA is

In an op-ed published in the Boston Globe on Easter Sunday and posted on the State Department website, Secretary of State John Kerry recalled his days as an altar boy and pointed out that he is “the first Catholic Secretary of State in 33 years.” Alexander Haig, who served as secretary of state to President Ronald Reagan from January 1981 to July 1982, was also a Catholic. Last month, I traveled to Rome with President Obama, where I was honored to meet His Holiness Pope Francis,” said Kerry. “As an altar boy six decades ago, I never imagined that I

“On the third day, he rose again.” That line, from the Nicene Creed, is a foundational statement of Christian belief. It declares that three days after Jesus died on the cross, he was resurrected, a glimmer of the eternal life promised to believers. It’s the heart of the Easter story in seven little words. But how that statement is interpreted is the source of some of the deepest rifts in Christianity — and a stumbling block for some Christians, and more than a few skeptics. Did Jesus literally come back from the dead in a bodily resurrection, as many traditionalist

"No, absolutely not," the November midterm election is not a referendum on President Obama and his policies, Democrat Party Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) told NBC´s "Meet the Press" on Sunday. "[T]hese elections, particularly the Senate elections, are referendums on the candidates running," she said. Asked about vulnerable Democrats who have criticized President Obama´s flawed healthcare law, Wasserman Schultz said they are running their own race. "They have to talk about and focus on the issues that are important to their constituents. And what´s also true is, if you look at the success rate and the track record of

If expanding the guest list to include Michelle Obama at graduation for high school students in the Kansas capital city means fewer seats for friends and family, some students and their parents would prefer the first lady not attend. A furor over what the Topeka school district considers an honor has erupted after plans were announced for Obama to address a combined graduation ceremony for five area high schools next month an 8,000-seat arena. For some, it was the prospect of a tight limit on the number of seats allotted to each graduate. For others, it was the notion that Obama´s speech,

New York Times columnist David Brooks said Sunday that he believes President Obama’s foreign policy isn’t “tough enough” and that he has a “manhood problem” when it comes to dealing with leaders such as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian President Bashar Assad. Mr. Brooks expanded on Sen. Bob Corker’s earlier comments on “Fox News Sunday” that Mr. Obama is “creating an air of permissiveness” with regards to Russia. (Snip) “And let’s face it, Obama, whether deservedly or not, does have a — I’ll say it crudely — but a manhood problem in the Middle East,” he continued.
