´The system has failed´:
Thousands take to the streets
across the nation in fury
at Zimmerman verdict as
racial tensions mount

Daily Mail [UK], by Laurie Kamens

Angry crowds gathered in major cities across the country late last night following the not guilty verdict in the Trayvon Martin case. The demonstrators carried signs and gathered en masse in major cities from New York to Washington D.C. and Los Angeles. Though the marches were largely non-violent, police assembled close by to monitor activity--fearful strong reactions to the verdict could spill over into rioting. [Snip] A crowd of more than 100 began marching peacefully in Oakland when a small section broke off smashing windows and starting small street fires. Local media reports said a police squad car was vandalized

Comments:
Less trouble than expected. But tonight. . . ? Celebrities, some of whose tweets are shown in the article, will no doubt continue to "opine."

I know the verdict came fairly late at night on the east coast and even the central time zone, but I really would have expected a lot more rioting. Is it possible that even the blacks realize this whole trial was a travesty, not of justice by any means since Zimmerman was acquitted, but of mere common sense?

This country has become a country of lofo idiots under barry. Anyone that demonstrated in ANY way against the verdict is too stupid to even use our air. I am so damn sick of black people playing the race card, and guilt ridden dumber than a post white people going along with it. The death of this country is nigh, and barry, holder, sharpton and all the race baiters that play on the stupidity of their "people" and others are to blame.

The OJ trial and verdict aftermath was a wake-up call, but It wasn´t until I got on Twitter two years ago that I saw first-hand how bad it was. A certain portion of the demographic will never assimilate. Stop trying to understand, quit the pandering. Forget it.

The jurors deserve praise for the job they did. They reviewed the evidence, took their civic duties seriously, and delivered a fair verdict. Good job!

The race baiters and a compliant media made this case their cause celebre, and it was the wrong case. Next time, they might choose a case where the facts at least remotely support their narrative.

I looked carefully at all the signage - wanted to try and determine any links, sponsors etc. The most common was ´´revcom.us´´. So I wandered over to revcom.us and guess what folks - its the Revolutionary Communist Party. And its corporate name/address is RCP Publications in the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. The website calls themselves The Voice Of The Revolutionary Communist Party USA.

My family and friends laugh at me - they say I see communists under every rock. Maybe so - go turn over a few rocks for yourselves...

Al Sharpton and his black leaders would do better to encourage black people to be responsible and clean up their lives. Get married before having babies; stay in school, put forward a better image. But rather than doing that, Sharpton sticks up for their bad behavior, and lets the bad image continue. I have never been robbed by a white person, but twice I have been robbed by young black men; I have been shoved around by a young black man while walking to a theater. So why would I not have fear in my heart when I see a black man? Trayvon wanted to show this man who followed him that Trayvon could take him down; he should have continued to walk home instead of breaking GZ´s nose.

What OP said.

As I´m drinking my Sunday morning coffee, reading the articles and comments and reviewing my usual sites, I stumbled across various of my "NFL" sites to see what happening with my team(s). Of course there was mention of this outcome accompanied by "tweets" from many "professional" players from across the sports spectrum.

My advice to them is to "S-squared." Put another way, think of the after the game interviews one sees over the weekends and then imagine how those would look as tweets concerning this matter. O. M. G.!!!

A fair number of the protestors in Sanford were identifiable by the signs they carried. Those with the big REVOLUTION that were in evidence are from the Revolutionary Communist Party USA. They can be found at Google.

The protest numbers in Sanford looked very small indeed. In Los Angeles the late news said about 100 were marching peacefully in the streets. An old professional protestor and race hustler Najaf Ali seemed to be running them. No longer a black garbed thug, he was a vision in a shiny gray suit. Dapper to the max. A Jesse Jackson wannabe.

This too shall pass.

Stay home. Mind your kids. And stop teaching them that white are bad *** crackas.

WHEN will we see a current picture of Martin? He continues to be called a child and why not? The only picture put out is when he was 12 years old.

It is so frustrating to hear what people say about the case. And the fault lies squarely at the feet of abcnbccbscnncnbc. Fox is a little guilty too.

Martin was not an angel. His mom had just kicked him out of her house because he was kicked out of school for stealing and doing drugs. The procesecution hid evidence that he bragged about starting fights and pictures of him with guns. But all we see or hear about is this sweet-faced obama´s would be son.

GZ tutored black kids and once defended a black man from unwarranted attacks from the police.

Can´t we go back to facts and fairness?

This is so sick-making. Far too many Blacks are still so desperately looking for something to get angry about that they pick a case like this: Two stupid people - one who stupidly followed another, and the other who stupidly attacked. The one attacked defended himself, and that´s the case.

But that´s somehow a reason to form a circle jerk of self-righteous celebrities and their empty gestures, and "outraged" Blacks who´d rather be angry and tear thing up, than grow up and do something about themselves and the real problems in their communities.

Justice does not mean getting a pass on your criminal behavior. GZ thanks to the media, now faces a prison of their making. He really isn´t truly free. I for one, hope he sues them. They could be proved guilty with regards to this case.

The caption under the last photo, "A demonstrator cries after hearing the not guilty verdict in the trial of George Zimmerman at the Seminole County Criminal Justice Center in Sanford, Florida" is completely incorrect. There were two distinct areas set up for protesters and at a little after 50 PM, the Trayvon group rushed to the Zimmerman side and did their best to make trouble. The Trayvon groups were professional protesters and did this for the evening news reports to use. After the police calmed everything down and things went back to normal, Geraldo Rivera walked into the area and recorded a report (via telephone) stating that "tensions were rising" blah blah blah. Got the whole thing on my iPhone5.

A couple of weeks ago I was leaving the physical therapy place where I do my pool time. It´s a friendly place, lots of repeat business, and one of the staff was showing a patient a hand-made US flag which the boss was donating to a local Little League team. They had, apparently, been discussing sewing. The elderly black woman covered her eyes and said, "Oh, take that thing away, it reminds of too many bad things!"

I was stunned! What??? So I said, "Oh, I´m English and my side was on the losing side of that battle! That flag looks so beautifully made, could I see it?" And it was beautifully sewn. I added a few more oohs and aahs and said it was such a generous act to give such a special gift to the Little Leaguers.

After the staffer took the flag back, the woman turned to her friend and said, with great satisfaction and glee, "She was SO shocked I said that! You see her face?"

I simply left. What poison! And I bet US taxpayers are paying that woman´s Social Security income and Medicare--and free phone--bills!

Yes, the system has failed but it´s not the justice system in the Zimmerman case.

Misogynist: a hatred of women. Interesting this would be applied when I questioned an all women jury. This was a political trial and in the last Presidential election, women voted for Obama by a 55% to 44% margin, an eleven point spread. Not politically smart, nor good for the country. I love women, but I don´t understand their reasoning at times.

We were also the dummies who thought MLK´s dream could become a reality.

In a multi-cultured America, we are only as good as our divided communities. Patriotic Blacks and foreigners squatting on our soil that want rule of law may wake up to the mess being made. Only 12-15 % of Blacks are haters--enough to kill everyone in a neighborhood but maybe they will get drunk and dance instead, throw a few paperbags of poop, urine and tampons. Trash up the place and go home?

In 1981, Ronald Reagan fired 11,345 air traffic controllers after a two day strike. This simple piece of executive action sent a powerful message: up with strikes the US government would not put. [Snip] Social conservatives might be experiencing their own air traffic controller moment. Brendan Eich, the CEO of Mozilla, has been forced to resign from his job because he once donated to an anti-gay marriage campaign. This is deeply unfair. At the time that he made the donation (2008), Barack Obama was also opposed to gay marriage--as was Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and almost all the leadership of

Seven million voters turned out across Afghanistan on Saturday to cast their ballots in the country´s historic presidential election. The Taliban had threatened to target voters and polling places, but there were few instances of violence. Instead, those wanting to cast ballots joined long lines and expressed pride for security forces guarding the election and a willingness to stand up for their country. Women also turned out in large numbers for the vote to replace President Hamid Karzai, who is barred constitutionally from seeking a third term. The election comes as foreign troops begin their withdrawal from the country after

A 5-year-old San Diego boy has outwitted the sharpest minds at Microsoft—he´s found a backdoor to the Xbox. Kristoffer Von Hassel managed to log in to his father´s Xbox Live account. When the password log-in screen appeared, Kristoffer simply hit the space button a few times and hit enter. Robert Davies tells KGTV-TV that just after Christmas he noticed his son playing games he supposedly couldn´t access. ´I got so nervous,´ Kristoffer told WPTV. ´I thought he was going to find out.´ Davies was far from upset. ´Just being five-years-old and being able to find a vulnerability and latch onto that.

Three million lower-income Americans have enrolled in the Medicaid program for the poor so far during the rollout of U.S. President Barack Obama´s healthcare reform law, the administration announced on Friday. [Snip] A percentage of those new enrollees includes prisoners in cash-strapped states that have decided to rely on Obamacare for their inmates’ health insurance needs. The prisoners are getting brought into the fold the same way that a number Medicaid enrolees are, as 26 states are in the process of trying to extend medical coverage to single and childless adults who fall into certain categories.

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush said Sunday that he will base his decision on whether to run for president in 2016 on whether he thinks he can mount a campaign that would transcend the modern-day mechanics of such a run. Bush, the second-oldest son of former president George H. W. Bush and younger brother of George W. Bush, spoke at an event marking the 25th anniversary of his father´s presidency at the library and museum that bears the patriarch´s name. The event was closed to reporters, but moderated by Fox News anchor Shannon Bream and portions of the event were later

The comments came during an event marking the 25th anniversary of the presidency of George H. W. Bush at the library and museum that bears the name of the Bush patriarch.

Why does Hillary Clinton hate America? That is the question that should be on everyone’s mind as she embarks on a worldwide tour to plug her forthcoming memoir. Check out this THE POLITICO article [emphasis mine]: Hillary Clinton discussed her work at the State Department, called for young women not to take criticisms personally and rapped the media for treating powerful women with a double standard at the kickoff of “Women in the World” in New York City Thursday night. Clinton’s appearance on a panel with International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde, moderated by New York Times columnist Tom Friedman, ran

Kathryn Riffenburg decided on a closed casket for her baby´s funeral. She didn´t want her family to see what whooping cough, her son´s first illness, had done to 9-week-old Brady Alcaide. The nearly forgotten disease, which has in recent years afflicted thousands of Americans, left Brady´s tiny body swollen and unrecognizable. So his mother dressed him in a white baptismal suit and hat and tucked him into a tiny white casket. Brady´s burial came just four weeks after his first laugh — inspired by her version of I´m a Little Teapot — and two weeks after his family learned that he had

In Dearborn, Mich., home to over 40,000 Americans of Arab descent, some Muslim parents have complained about flyers handed out at public schools advertising an Easter egg hunt at a local Presbyterian church. The Muslim parents assert that the flyers – emblazoned with the word “Eggstravaganza!” – violate the separation of church and state widely ascribed to the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause, reports the Detroit Free Press. Students at three Dearborn elementary schools received the flyers. A large number of Muslim students attend the schools. The “Eggstravaganza!” is scheduled to take place on April 12 event at Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church

When friends and family members gathered recently at the White House for a private celebration of Michelle Obama’s 50th birthday, one of the invited partygoers was a former paid FBI Mafia informant. That same man attended February’s state dinner in honor of French President Francois Hollande. He was seated with his girlfriend at a table adjacent to President Barack Obama, who is likely unaware that, according to federal agents, his guest once interacted with members of four of New York City’s five organized crime families. He even secretly taped some of those wiseguys using a briefcase that FBI technicians outfitted

LONDON - Peaches Geldof, the wild-child second daughter of concert organizer Bob Geldof who worked as a model, a television presenter and a fashion writer and filled the pages of British tabloids with her late-night antics, has died at age 25. There was no immediate word on the cause of her death at her home in Wrotham, Kent, southeast England. Her father said in a statement Monday: "Peaches has died. We are beyond pain." "She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us," he said. "Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever."

Democrats are facing a senior problem that could get even worse this year. The party has traditionally had trouble with older voters, losing the group aged 65 and over by 21 points in 2010 — when Republicans picked up 63 seats — and by 12 points in the 2012 presidential race. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. A recent Gallup poll showed seniors have become even more Republican over the last two decades; in 2013, 48 percent considered themselves Republican. That spells trouble for Democrats, who are already facing

The Democratic National Committee is furious by a conservative website’s ad campaign that depicts Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi clad in a bikini in a provocative pose with her tongue sticking out. Add Bryan Cranston, the star of TV´s recent hit "Breaking Bad" and a new Broadway play about former President Lyndon B. Johnson, to Team Obamacare. In an interview with Yahoo News “global anchor” Katie Couric, the actor called Obamacare the highlight of President Obama´s legacy. “Now’s the time to stake a claim to leave your legacy,” he encouraged Obama. “I personally believe that his health care program is fantastic.
