A wrongful death suit filed by the parents of black teenager Trayvon Martin who was shot to death by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman has been settled, according to documents filed in a Florida court yesterday. Orlando Sentinel: Trayvon Martin´s parents have settled a wrongful-death claim for an amount thought to be more than $1 million against the homeowners association of the Sanford subdivision where their teenage son was killed.

They saw their chance at riches and went for theirs. Wonder why the press has not been reporting this??

The suit was probably started the day after sweet little child Trayvon died. His parents must have been sick to death of his passing. What a sacrifice for them to forget their anguish and pursue a bucket of money so quickly after the dear childs passing. s/

Sabrina Fulton was his birth mother.
He was raised by Alicia, his fathers second wife, until he was 15. He went to live with Sabrina when his father left her for another woman.Shortly thereafter she kicked him out because he had been expelled fro school and caught doing criminal acts but given a pass.
She could not or would not handle him because he was trouble.
Both parents are culpable for Trayvons death - they failed to raise him properly and let him roam the streets. The " grieving" parents are money grabbers who failed their responsibilities towards Trayvon.

We don´t know what the terms of the settlement were, except they were not to be disclosed. I doubt it was settled for more than $50,000, the cost of responding to the suit.

Trayvon Martin´s parents are disgusting; they did very little for their son, and he grew up to be an arrogant thug. But once their son was killed, they both swooped in and went for any money they could get from his death. Disgusting. Shameful. Trayvon should have walked on home when he saw that creepy assed cracker following him, but being the arrogant thug that he was, he thought he could teach this cracker a lesson. God willing that GZ walks.

President Obama has said a lot of things about health care reform, not just that if you liked your health insurance plan, you could keep it. In a prime-time news conference in July 2009, his rationales for a new law stacked up like planes on an airport runway during a holiday weekend: It would provide "security and stability" for families; it would "keep government out of health care decisions"; it would prevent insurers from "dropping your coverage." He said the program "would not add to our deficit," that it would "slow the growth of health care costs in the long

The overwhelming sentiment coming out of President Obama’s interview with “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno can be summed up like this: “Wow, Jay really asked serious questions.” Russia, Edward Snowden and the NSA were part of the conversation. So too was the increased terror alert. And Hillary Clinton’s presidential prospects. There was relatively little “Hey how are the wife and kids” chatter that many people expected. (Leno did ask Obama how he spent his birthday; it wasn’t a totally dry interview.) No one who has watched the transformation of media — and how politicians have learned to take advantage

Wedged into a secure, windowless basement room deep below the Capitol Visitors Center, U.S. District Court Judge John Bates appeared before dozens of senators earlier this month for a highly unusual, top-secret briefing. The National Security Agency has acknowledged in a new classified briefing that it does not need court authorization to listen to domestic phone calls. Rep. Jerrold Nadler, a New York Democrat, disclosed this week that during a secret briefing to members of Congress, he was told that the contents of a phone call could be accessed "simply based on an analyst deciding that." If the NSA wants "to listen to the phone," an analyst´s decision is sufficient, without any other legal authorization required, Nadler said he learned.

WASHINGTON — Why did the Supreme Court agree in December to hear a major same-sex marriage case and then seem to think it had made a terrible mistake on Tuesday when it came time for arguments? The answer lies in the gap between two numbers. It takes four votes to hear a case and five to decide one. If nothing else, this week’s arguments provided a telling glimpse into the process through which the court selects its docket, one that is usually shrouded in exceptional secrecy. The arguments also cleared up most of the mystery of whose idea it had been to hear the case, a challenge to Proposition 8, California’s ban on same-sex marriage.

CAIRO—President George W. Bush kept it simple in his short television address the evening of March 19, 2003: U.S. forces had begun their campaign to unseat Saddam Hussein, he said. The goals, he outlined in his first sentence, were straightforward: “to disarm Iraq, to free its people and to defend the world from grave danger.” Some 522 words later he promised the result: “We will bring freedom to others and we will prevail.”

For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either.
