Caroline Kennedy
poised for Japan

Washington Post, by Al Kamen

Original Article

Posted By:Scottyboy, 7/13/2013 11:03:39 AM

The finishing touches are being applied to the long-anticipated formal announcement that Caroline Kennedy will be the next U.S. ambassador to Japan. Word is that Japan has given its formal diplomatic agreement to accept her as the U.S. envoy -- a move that comes in the last stages of the lengthy nomination process. Kennedy´s strong support for President Obama was seen as crucial in his 2008 battle with Hillary Rodham Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination. An official White House announcement, which is probably forthcoming shortly, is expected to thrill the Japanese public

Comments:
It´s probably about all she could handle and even then it will be a stretch.

It goes very much in her favor that Americans all look alike to the Japanese.

No doubt, she has learned the appropriate hirogana, catagana and congee symbols for:
"Ya´ know, like, well I mean, ya sorta like, well you know."

Also critically important are: "Wow" and "Um".

Japanese may launch mock attack on Pearl Harbor so that US recalls its ambassador. Would use miniature planes and toy subs so that nothing is damaged save for US pride. Obama would declare "August 7th, 2013 will live in infantry" as he misreads TelePrompTer.

Japan´s representative to UN will plead with Security Council that it must pass resolution demanding US recall Ambassador Kennedy until all US hostility towards Japan ceases, or 2017, whichever comes first.

I don´t know what an ambassador´s life is like, but I do know that this Kennedy princess has been shielded from all of life´s troubles, other than natural ones. She probably has had private security details forever, lived among a select cocktail circuit group, been sheltered in the bosom of her famous family, and lived in a gated community.

Wonder how she will enjoy life among real people who don´t speak her language but do have manners and class.

If Bill Clinton’s political camp was known for believing the right wing was out to get him, then this undated memo from his administration codified his team’s suspicions. The memo was released today in the latest, thousands-of-pages-long batch of Clinton White House documents to be posted online by the William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum. The National Archives have been releasing tranches of Clinton documents, previously withheld under the Presidential Records Act, every two weeks this spring. KUALA LUMPUR - About 100 Malaysian Muslim activists protested on Friday outside the US embassy against the coming visit by President Barack Obama, denouncing him as an enemy of Islam. The demonstration underscored the delicate nature of Obama´s trip to Muslim-majority Malaysia, which will make him the first siting US president to visit in nearly half a century, a period marked by mutual distrust. The protesters marched to the embassy in Kuala Lumpur from a nearby mosque after Friday afternoon prayers, shouting "God is great" and "Obama is the enemy of the Prophet Muhammad." This is not a joke, but it is funny. It´s also practical. Argentina´s National Institute for Agricultural Technology (INTA) has invented a way to convert cow flatulence into usable energy, and it involves putting a plastic backpack on a cow. In other words, cow fartpacks are here.(snip)Here´s how the fartpacks work: tubes run from the backpack into the cows´ rumen (or biggest digestive tract). They extract about 300 liters of methane a day, which is enough to run a car or a fridge for about 24 hours. The two bombers who killed and maimed innocent people at the Boston marathon a year ago had come as refugees to America, from conflicts that America and her people did nothing to cause. They had been granted the privileges of a law-abiding democracy, including education, health care and the precious freedoms for which Americans have fought in two world wars. Their situation was incomparably better than it would have been, had they stayed behind in Chechnya. Among the many privileges that they enjoyed religious freedom was by no means the least important. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent.
