EPA Wants Gov´t To Control
How Cold Your Beer Can Be

Investor´s Business Daily, by Editorial

Regulation: No longer the stuff of science fiction, a little-noticed change in energy-efficiency requirements for appliances could lead to government controlling the power used in your home and how you set your thermostat. In a seemingly innocuous revision of its Energy Star efficiency requirements announced June 27, the Environmental Protection Agency included an "optional" requirement for a "smart-grid" connection for customers to electronically connect their refrigerators or freezers with a utility provider. The feature lets the utility provider regulate the appliances´ power consumption, "including curtailing operations during more expensive peak-demand times."

They already control how much water a toilet or faucet can use. Water coolers have been regulated for years on how cold they can be.

We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK

Why didn´t people listen to what this guy was saying in 2008 or 2012?

You can bet your sweet bippy that some dimocrat crony will profit handsomely from this "advancement".

sorry for the 2nd post but the "warm beer" is a misnomer - good beer (i.e. stuff that does have an actual body and flavor is typically best served at "cellar temp") which if the beer has actual body and flavor will bring out - otherwise I suggest you play close heed to the "philosophers from down under" (Monty Python reference) regarding "lite" beer - more like making love in a canoe - "effnig close to water"

The EPA will determine the type of light bulb we are allowed to use, how much water your toilet will use, how much water comes through our shower head, how many miles our car must get on a gallon of gas, how cold/warm our home must be, how many calories we consume daily, and now they want to control our beverage temperature. They must also enforce how many ice cubes are in a glass of liquid refreshment. Save water. Shower with a friend This is a banana republic so save those banana peels. We will need them when we run short of toilet paper as they have in Chavez country

Dismantle the EPA, ed-fund and disembowel.

Note: One can defeat the faucet flow regulator with a small drill. One can defeat the toilet flush regulation by bending the right lever part. Capitalism will defeat any smart meter technology either with a line filter to stop power line signals or Faraday shield (grounded aluminum foil) to defeat wireless communication. Appliances will plug into a filter box that hangs on the outlet and stops powerline communication. Capitalism will keep us free.

The end result of all this fundamental transformation is a society like that described in "We", a novel by Yevgeny Zamyatin in 1921. Highlights of such a society are sex tickets that grant you permission to close the curtain on your glass apartment when you have a guest. Absent the constitutional limits on government power, there are no limits. I would not oppose a Bastille day for these public servants that would control every aspect of our lives.

Somewhere in this faulty move is a Demonrat control-every-aspect-of-our-lives electronic disaster just waiting to happen.

The new Energy Star Appliances that I have purchased the past few years are junk, junk, and trash. Not one of them works efficiently, and the new mandated energy saving mechanisms are ludicrous.

Banana Republic standards are being imposed at every level of our existence.

The EPA is run by unelected cronies of the Glorious Leader who has no idea what he is talking about, rather reading from TPOTUS. We are being maneuvered by the czars such as Glenn Beck told us about several years ago, Cass Sunstein being one of his cronies. He believes in civil rights for trees and plants. We have a gang of faceless sycophants who may or may not know anything about ergs and ohms, and I don´t either, but I do know they are rather swiftly closing the net. During the first round of Solar Heating and Cooling, during the Jimmy Carter days, it sounded interesting, so we went underground. Front glass facing the south west to catch the best sun on Dec. 21st, skylight for back of long open room, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, carport, food pantry and own water source, dug before the ´all water belongs to the state´ edicts. If you own land with a hill of some sort, dig out the hill, put your house in it. Ours is octagonal. Wood burning stove for heat, and the electric bill is not as high as people in town. We are on 9.5 acres in deep East Texas woods, but close to a nice town where I taught school for 24 of my 43 years. Husband, retired military.
We may or may not survive the Obama hell.

Our local power co-op is at least more honest about it. There are two programs. The first is if you need to replace your water heater, if you signed up in advance, you may purchase it from the co-op at a discounted rate IF you allow your home to be put on power saving controls. I.E. they turn off your stuff when the grid gets near overload.
The second program is subsidizing the purchase and install of a back up generator ( our power goes out a LOT ). They claim to give a 25% discount IF you allow them to use your generator to contribute to the grid on their command. You get to pay for the fuel, a mandatory $300 maintenance program, and repairs so the co-op can back up it´s grid when they wish free power.
Yes, they do charge about 40% more than other contractors can install the same generator.

Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts. This hypothesis is that America has reached a stage of progressive soft despotism in which the only important family feud in national politics is between the fundamentally

My first published column was in a local paper opposing the Equal Rights Amendment for the same reasons that Phyllis Schlafly, a conservative lawyer, campaigned on. As ambiguously written, the ERA, would eliminate the men-only draft requirement, repeal protective laws like sexual assault and eliminate the tendency for mothers to obtain custody over their children in divorce cases. Ironically, one of the arguments that helped sink the amendment from ratification was the fear that single-sex bathrooms would no longer be permitted. In addition, opponents of the amendment also warned that it would lead to abortion on demand and same-sex marriages.
