Calif. lawmakers pass K-12
transgender-rights bill

Associated Press, by Don Thompson

Original Article

Posted By:kono, 7/4/2013 10:02:22 AM

California lawmakers approved a bill Wednesday that would require public K-12 schools to let transgender students choose which restrooms they use and which school teams they join based on their gender identity instead of their chromosomes. Some school districts around the country have implemented similar policies, but the bill´s author says AB1266 would mark the first time a state has mandated such treatment by statute. Existing state law already prohibits California schools from discriminating against students based on their gender identity, but the legislation that passed the state Senate on Wednesday spells that out in more detail

Comments:
For any who still thought (or even hoped) the recent court gains by LGBTQ activists would satisfy their ambitious agenda, even for a week...

There is more pathological zealotry behind that movement even than radical religious movements (and even less room for reason). No other ´rights´ in the world trump this, as far as these activists are concerned. (Not even freedom of speech or religion will be respected anywhere they present any challenge or opposition to this.)

Notice how the gay agenda has transformed into LGBT in the last year or so? It´s designed to encompass sexual proclivities the mainstream would still find abhorant even should it accept homosexuality. Of course it´s a Trojan Horse designed to legitimize cross dressers and such. The result will be the protection of school teachers that choose to come to class dressed as a man one day and a woman the next. And you "tolerant" liberals can look in the mirror to find who to blame for the sewer you have created.

And yet they wonder why more and more families are choosing Home Schooling for their children. There is no hope for this country when the educational system is being run by leftists with an agenda to "transform America". God help us.

Boys, girls, and confused. This is the only way to handle the "choice", unless you want to put urinals in the women´s restrooms.

LGBT has been used for over two decades - not a new concept at all. I´m from California and I find this bill ridiculous and dangerous. Tell me how does a child in kindergarten know they are transgendered?????

I remember being a teenager. There will be boys who will claim to consider themselves girls so that they can shower with the girls.

As a rare conservative school board member, I am attempting to get a majority on the board to ignore the laws and regs that don´t make any common sense for our community, and am willing and anxious to have the state attempt to force these absurdities on us with great local publicity. Because eroding enrollment is a big deal to the mostly liberal teachers and their union, the point made by one poster regarding home schooling becoming more and more the obvious choice because of these kinds of ultra-PC regs coming out of the Feds and State is beginning to resonate. Of course the state and unions are trying to limit and/or control homeschooling too, but those attempts are met with hands on our holsters.

That Mark Leno really is a piece of trash isn´t he.

See folks, it was never about gay marriage. It was always, always about mainstreaming perverted behavior, and then getting laws to protect those practitioners, and as an added benefit, even perhaps be financially rewarded through lawsuits.

Every single distinction between man and woman will be fought and picked apart under this distinction of "discrimination". Little Jonnie can´t use the ladies room? Oh, he is being discriminated against!

Why don´t we solve the problem instead of making it someone else´s problem. Why not get this kid and his parents to some counseling and find out why the person behaves that way. And don´t give me this BS that any boy wants to dress up like a girl and be a girl.

Someone´s mental health issues is not everyone else´s issue. Making that person "happy" at the expense of making everyone else "unhappy" is sick.

Just remember, Mark Leno believes that "24 pieces of child porno" is ok, and voted consistently against legislation that increases punishment for sex offenders and pedophiles. Occasionally he will vote yes on some of those propositions--to make it appear impartial--but in reality he is pro-child porn. Google if you don´t believe me.

See, it really is all related. Gay, pedophilia, cross dressing, dissolution of the family unit.

Of course, people shouldn´t be bullied or discriminated against. But instead of real help real people can support, loony liberals use crazy, control-freak laws as an excuse to bully and discriminate against anyone who disagrees with them. They are penultimate hypocrites.

Catering to mental disorders and arrogant rebellion against God´s choice of gender does not make it "normal."

Next thing to happen will be a sharp increase in "hate crime" attacks occurring in school bathrooms.

How on earth are public schools going to protect young girls or boys from predators in transgender bathroooms? And I am not remotely suggesting that transgenders are predators, but my point is how would a school know that some pedophile is patrolling the schools to attack a same-sex child?

Furthermore, say I had a 6-year-old daughter...I would not be real thrilled having her witness a full-grown 17-year-old male urinating in the same room.

I do not have children but I could not agree more with the posters regarding proposing home schooling. And in CA where I live, it becomes more bizarre every day.

There are public schools up here in No. Cal. where they have an islamic week where the kids have to learn and follow the tenents of Koran? And they make the girls wear the tents!

Forbid any one even mentioning Christmas or Easter without a law suit.

I apologize for going a bit off topic, but I think you see my point. Love you all!

In health care, 2013 was a year of great irony. In the United States, the Obama administration bullheadedly forged ahead in advancing the most controversial and expensive law in recent memory, the deceptively named Affordable Care Act. The law, opposed by a clear and consistent majority of citizens, immediately caused millions of Americans to lose their health insurance along with their choice of doctor and hospital, and millions more to pay far higher insurance premiums. While the focus has been on the embarrassing roll-out that, at a minimum, demonstrated both the incompetence and the poor judgment of this administration,

The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

There is nothing like it in the democracies of Europe, which came into being with nations already carved up into private fiefdoms.
