Life On Earth To Die
Out In One Billion Years

Sky News [UK], by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 7/1/2013 11:18:52 PM

All animals and plants will vanish from the Earth within the next billion years, a new study suggests. But ironically the end of the world is going to arrive as a result of too little carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, rather than too much. Currently experts are trying to find ways to cut levels of the greenhouse gas to prevent global warming running out of control. But as the Sun ages and grows hotter, greater evaporation and chemical reactions with rainwater will take away more and more carbon dioxide. In less than a billion years, its levels will be too low for photosynthesising plants to survive,

That´s what comes of driving all those SUVs around on the sun all day.

But hopefully we´ll figure out how to move the Earth before then, maybe orbit it around Jupiter, that´s what Larry Niven wrote.

Anyway, those solar cells ought to really pay for themselves by then.

I´m confused ...

If these sun events will take away carbon dioxide, why do the Algorites want to reduce carbon dioxide now? Won´t that hasten the "end" of plant life?

Perhaps we should let nature take its course.

Interesting ... I just bought a copy of a recently published book: Heralds of the Second Coming by Stephen Walford.

600,000,000 years ago the earth was mostly covered in ice - the Snowball Earth effect. Climate got warmer since through massive volcanic eruptions that greatly increased CO2 levels. Man-made human warming is a hoax to enrich Algore and to impoverish third world countries.

French plane diverted

Berlin - Air France says a plane carrying 495 passengers and 22 crew was diverted on its way from Shanghai to Paris after Russia announced at short notice that part of its airspace was closed for a military exercise. The company said flight AF111 was forced to land in Hamburg, Germany, early Wednesday to refuel because the plane had too little fuel on board to complete the flight following its detour. Hamburg Airport confirmed that the plane landed shortly after 6 a.m. (0500 GMT) and was able to take off for Paris again after an hour and a half. It

New satellite images taken three days ago have revealed 122 potential pieces of debris from the missing Malaysian Airline flight MH370, Malaysia’s Transport Minister says. (Snip) Earlier satellite images from China, Australia and France showed items floating in the southern Indian Ocean, where the plane is believed to have crashed, leaving no survivors. “Yesterday, on the 25th of March, the Malaysian Remote Sensing Agency, MRSA, received new satellite images from Airbus Defence and Space, which is based in France, and these images were taken on the 23rd of March,” he said this evening. “MRSA analysed the images and in one area of the

Back in 2001, during a press conference on ballistic missile defense, then-Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld tried to explain the relative ease of procuring certain weapon technologies, and the danger that might pose to the United States. [W]ith the end of the Cold War and the relaxation of tension in the world, we’ve seen that proliferation of these technologies is pervasive. And that means that a trained ape can figure out that over the coming period, more people are going to have exceedingly powerful weapons, weapons more powerful than ever in the history of the world, biological weapons, nuclear weapons, chemical weapons.

Malaysian authorities say new satellite images from France have identified about 122 objects floating in the Indian Ocean, about 2557km from Perth. Minister of Defence and Acting Minister of Transport Hishammuddin Hussein said the satellite images were taken on March 23. He said objects ranged from 1m to 23m in length, and some were brightly coloured. Malaysian authorities say they have received new satellite images of a possible debris field. Mr Hussein said they received new satellite images from France yesterday. “Australia, China and France have already released satellite images showing objects that may be related to MH370,”

The Obama administration is prepared to give prospective Obamacare enrollees another half-month to signup for insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act website, healthcare.gov, treating the law´s March 31 regulatory deadline as a formality for Americans who claim they tried in earnest to sign up in time. During a March 12 congressional hearing, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told Texas Republican Rep. However, if you receive wages in bitcoin, you have to pay taxes on it just like you would if you got paid in dollars. Or if you got paid in chickens. The IRS issued a series of 16 questions and answers Tuesday to clarify the tax treatment of virtual currencies like bitcoin. In general, the IRS says it will apply the same rules that govern other barter transactions. If you receive wages in bitcoin, they would be taxed at their fair market value at the time you were

Income growth was slower in 2013 than the year before in every state, according to new federal data. But don’t worry, it was all just the result of a year-old political fight. (Snip) But compare each state to its own recent record, and you’ll see incomes decelerating. Why? Well, the “fiscal cliff” — the end-of-2012 fight over tax hikes and spending cuts. One of those expiring cuts, the payroll tax cut, was putting money into the hands of Americans. Once it expired, that money started flowing back to the government. Also, the comparison isn’t quite fair. Income growth in 2012 was artificially higher due to the fiscal cliff because of concerns

Judging by the recent royal temper tantrums and the parade of op-eds suggesting ways to soothe the Saudis, President Obama’s trip to Saudi Arabia on Thursday is shaping up as one of the more awkward diplomatic encounters this side of the “Red Wedding.” Saudi officials have made no secret of their displeasure over the United States’ support of democratic change in Egypt and across the region, its refusal to leap into a Syrian quagmire and its role in the nuclear negotiations with Iran. The Saudis have hardly been assuaged by U.S. deference to Riyadh on their human rights abuses or passive acceptance of Saudi support for Egypt’s
