During his first visit to Africa as president, Barack Obama took the opportunity to champion same-sex marriage, despite the fact that he was speaking in a country where homosexuality is forbidden and a punishable crime. Senegalese President Macky Sall rebuffed Obama’s urging by saying that although his country is “very tolerant,” it is not ready to decriminalize homosexuality. Obama’s advocacy for gay rights in Africa came within twenty-four hours of arriving in Senegal.
Comments: Now he´s got Senegal kicking him around, joining Ecuador. Ain´t being an ´ordinary country´ grand, Bamster?
He says he stands with muslims but he just can´t resist any opportunity to try to shove lifestyle choices in their faces that are against their cultural beliefs, be it a gay ambassador to female diplomats and ambassadors.
One thing I will side with muslims on and that is neither of us approves of the homosexual lifestyle. I just don´t agree with how they solve the problem.
Most of Africa is awash in AIDS infected men and women. And in some of the tribal cultures, it is believed that a man who has AIDS will be cured if he has sexual intercourse with a virgin. That´s one of them African traditions that is not so good. So going to Africa and pushing homosexual rights is not a good idea. But Barack considers himself to be some sort of prophet, above the puny logic the rest of us use.
Have we ever seen a piece of work LIKE this arrogant man with the messiah complex? He thinks he can go to Ireland and lecture them on Catholic education which was NONE of his beeswax. Now, he thinks he can preach what many Africans see as perversion to the Senegalese? What is his problem...
Obama is living in a cloud. This country has huge problems of all sorts and there is Obama off in Africa telling the Africans they must accept gay rights. Before that he was in Ireland shooting down Catholic education, and before that he was telling the Russians that he intended to draw down the supply of US nuclear weapons, to which the Russians have replied that they are developing a new super weapon with which to wipe out America.
Yet polls are showing that half the country still supports Obama, and Massachusetts just elected a 40 year career liberal Democrat Congressman as their new US Senator with the promise that he will support Obama´s progressive agenda!
Worthless piece of humanity who thinks he knows better than anyone else. We´ve all met the type. Wants to tell everyone else how to live. Usually this guy doesn´t get too far in the world. It is unfortunate for us that this one has. He had the personality from which dictators are made.
It seems to me that too many people are taken in by the fallacious "no discrimination" reasoning Obama used in the video clip attached to this story. All of us discriminate every day. To make a decision is to discriminate. The pious sounding reasoning is that it is always wrong to discriminate (make a decision). We do it all the time. Discrimination is often acceptable if it conforms to a difference in reality. Obamacare for example allows children to stay on their parents policy until they are 36. That is discrimination on the basis of age. Why stop at 36 or why allow very young children to be on their parents policy? We recognize that this is acceptable because children need the support of their parents. They are different in a real way which makes the discrimination acceptable and even good. Likewise a man should discriminate against other men and find a woman as a marriage partner. This discrimination is based on a reality - Men and women are different and so there are many valid ways they should treat each other different. There is no universal principle of non discrimination as the court implied. There is only some arbitrary line such as age 36 where we justify the discrimination as valid. It is certainly not a matter of hatred and bigotry to come to a different conclusion as to what is a valid form of discrimination.
You see, #16, liberals DO discriminate, but they comfort themselves by saying they are discriminating FOR someone or something. But, they fail to realize that when you discriminate FOR you also discriminate AGAINST others. As long as they emphasize that they are helping some group, they are quite comfortable discriminating.
talk about his visit to Africa, does any one else find it interesting that the picture of Obama standing in the doorway of no return - the very door way where people were boarded in a boat to be delivered to another country, that this country actually sold their people!
If parents sold a child, it is considered a terrible deed. But here is a nation that actually sold their own citizens, but it´s the buyers dishonor as represented by historians. The world is crazy.
#1 Muslims give lip service to banning homosexuality but regularly use Bacha boys, the sex slaves that service men. the reason that is not considered homosexuality is that they are not in a love relationship. Those in a love/long term homosexual relationship are the ones that are often beheaded. But men are allowed their bacha boys (Yasser Arafat notorious for this). a friend who married in Middle East told me this is a commom practice. Very sad, this child abuse..PBS even did a special on it. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/dancingboys/
Even with carriers off the coast and fighter jets in the air, I´m hoping that some irate group over there decides to send obama a strong message that his presence in that part of the world is not welcome. It might be the wakeup call that he sorely needs.
The audience for Stinky´s remarks on gay rights is the American gay left, the tiny, yet loud and obnoxious, minority within a minority and one of his core support groups.
On foreign soil particularly, Stinky shows no sense of protocol, no sense of when to keep his mouth shut, and not even the common sense to consult with those who DO know protocol about how to conduct himself.
His knowledge and experience have not progressed beyond those of a community organizer, i.e. political thug, in Chicago.

In February, the Bush family’s personal emails were hacked by Guccifer, a hacker who uncovered photographs of former President George H. W. Bush in a hospital bed and George W. Bush’s oil paintings in the process. It seems Guccifer has struck again, this time targeting former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Library. The hacker has reportedly uncovered doodles of Clinton drawing on what were, at the time, classified documents. Among the doodles is apparently a picture of a penis. The document uncovered is a briefing of the strategic measures the United States could take prior Clinton’s decision to intervene in
A witness in the case of the murder of Venezuelan Ambassador Olga Fonseca in Kenya 2012 told a court in Nairobi on Wednesday that the diplomatic mission would use the diplomatic bag for drug-trafficking purposes. "I am aware that the embassy was used to traffic drugs using the diplomatic bag," said former embassy driver Kevin Lameck, AFP reported. Fonseca, aged 57, was found strangled to death in her residence in Nairobi in July 2012. Seven people have been accused in the case, including Dwight Sagaray, the then first secretary of the embassy. Lameck´s statement was issued during cross-examination by Sagarya´s defense Lawyer Katwa Kigen.
A group of 25 people identified as members of Colombian rebel National Liberation Army (ELN) evicted some 150 people out of a tourist resort south Táchira state, specifically in La Espuma town, southwest Venezuela, local press reported. According to newspaper El Diario de Los Andes, the troops carried rifles and were dressed in military uniforms. They kicked people out of their rooms. They asked for the owner´s location and ordered people to leave, saying "this is ours now." El Diario de Los Andes informed the guerrilla group gave inhabitants until Monday to leave town, claiming it was now under the ELN´s control. Based
Socialism: Venezuela´s President Nicolas Maduro unveiled his big plan for socialism Monday night, just as a blackout engulfed the country. Sure, it´s comical. But it´s less so upon realizing that California may see the same thing. The downward slide in Caracas is becoming more of a cautionary tale than just a freak show of Stalinist communist throwbacks run wild. In California, energy officials warn that the state and others like it face a catastrophic collapse of its power grid due to the many green energy schemes that have made managing energy flow difficult. "Energy officials worry a lot these days
Looting and robbing spread to several areas of the Argentine city of Cordoba on Tuesday evening and night following a walkout from the police in the midst of a conflict over pay and other benefits. The Supermarkets association has anticipated its members will not open their stores on Wednesday unless police forces are back patrolling the streets of Argentina´s third largest city which is also an important manufacturing pole. Television film showed mostly youngsters breaking into supermarkets and robbing food, drinks and electronics, while the stores were defenseless. Women could also be seen.
ZAGREB, CROATIA – A majority of Croatians voted in a referendum Sunday to ban gay marriages in what is a major victory for the Catholic Church-backed conservatives in the European Union´s newest nation. The state electoral commission, citing initial results, said 65 percent of those who voted answered "yes" to the referendum question: "Do you agree that marriage is matrimony between a man and a woman?" About 34 percent voted against. The result meant that Croatia´s constitution will be amended to ban same-sex marriage. The vote has deeply divided Croatia. Liberal groups have said the referendum´s question infringes on basic human rights. The
KIEV, Ukraine — Enraged by a violent crackdown by security forces, Ukrainians took to the streets with new, revolutionary urgency on Sunday, with hundreds of thousands of protesters demanding the resignation of President Viktor F. Yanukovich and a realignment of the country away from Russia toward Europe. “I want the authorities to know that this is not a protest; this is a revolution!” Yuri V. Lutsenko, a former interior minister and an organizer of the Orange Revolution nine years ago, told a vast crowd here in Independence Square that many observers said outstripped even the biggest gatherings in 2004.
No end to Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro oral bloopers. In campaign for the municipal elections of 8 December and in the midst of an economic war on big business of which it accuses of promoting inflation and destabilizing his government, a self confession or “sincericide” (a blend of sincerity and suicide) became the delight of social networks ant twitters. In the midst of a fiery and passionate speech he said “capitalists speculate and steal as we do”. “I want to tell shop owners of this country, small and medium, these shop owners that you know so well from your neighborhood, they
Politics: Eighty million Americans are losing health insurance, and 26 million are jobless. But lefty Rep. Linda Sanchez has made oppression of gay and transgender Latinos her priority. Seems the smaller the cause, the better. At a field hearing attended by all of 20 people in Los Angeles on Monday, the California Democrat bemoaned all the time spent on matters such as the slow economy, runaway government spending, the millions losing their insurance under Obama-Care and the 7.8% unemployment rate. Such issues, the congresswoman believes, are diverting attention from problems experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Latinos and Latinas. But then, that
LOS ANGELES — They began showing up at dusk last week, wandering the streets, slumped in wheelchairs and sitting on sidewalks, paper plates perched on their knees. By 6:30 p.m., more than 100 homeless people had lined up at a barren corner in Hollywood, drawn by free meals handed out from the back of a truck every night by volunteers. But these days, 27 years after the Greater West Hollywood Food Coalition began feeding people in a county that has one of the worst homeless problems in the nation, the charity is under fire, a flashpoint in the national debate
Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman (R) left the door open to another presidential run during a Monday panel in New Hampshire. Asked whether he ever thinks about running again — Huntsman dropped out of the 2012 Republican primary after finishing third in New Hampshire — he suggested he hadn´t ruled out the option. He closed a long response to the question, posed at Saint Anselm College, by saying: "Which is a long way of saying that I love public service. I´ll always be committed to public service. And as an itinerant public servant, from time to time, it´s hard to know where
A veteran Washington adviser who has worked for four Presidents on both sides of the political aisle said that the stunning Government Accountability Report report that found President Barack Obama has not had a one-on-one meeting with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius since the passage of Obamacare over three years ago is an indictment of the entire White House operation and shows that the Obama administration has bordered on "malfeasance." "I have no doubt the White House is right, that Secretary Sebelius was in several group meetings with the president about health care," Gergen caveated, "but the whole
President Barack Obama’s Facebook page on Saturday posted a message honoring the dead from Pearl Harbor—accompanied by a picture of Obama descending the stairs next to the Pearl Harbor Memorial. The picture barely fits the name of the Arizona Memorial so it can frame Obama in the foreground. The post´s statement reads: Today, with solemn pride and reverence, let us remember those who fought and died at Pearl Harbor, acknowledge everyone who carried their legacy forward, and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the ideals for which they served. Just how much do many Hollywood liberals hate conservatives? In an interview with Playboy, Ben Affleck said, "When I watch a guy [on film] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him": PLAYBOY: You developed a political profile campaigning for presidential candidates Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. How did that come about? AFFLECK: I grew up in a house with a mother who was a teacher and a Freedom Rider—very left-wing Democrats living in a heterogeneous working-class neighborhood. I picked up a lot of those values there, and I
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry opened her program over the weekend with a commentary about the Affordable Care Act’s colloquial moniker: “Obamacare.” She said that the word was originally created as a “derogatory term,” designed by white men as a way to delegitimize President Barack Obama and his achievement. However, she said that the term will soon be synonymous with all of Obama’s accomplishments and she urged her audience to use the term with pride. “I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years, and like it or not, it’s indelibly
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a last minute decision not to participate in a memorial service for the late South African President Nelson Mandela, despite having notified the South African government that he would attend the event. The decision was made in light of the high transportation costs resulting from the short notice of the trip and the security required for the prime minister in Johannesburg. The Prime Minister’s Office found that the trip would have cost roughly 7 million shekels ($2.4 million) – 2.8 million shekels for chartering a private El Al plane and a further 3.2 million shekels for
President Obama, former president George W. Bush and their wives departed Washington Monday morning on Air Force One on their way to a memorial service in South Africa for Nelson Mandela. The president and first lady Michelle Obama are being accompanied by Mr. Bush, former first lady Laura Bush and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on the flight to Johannesburg. A four-hour memorial service will be held on Tuesday for South Africa’s first black president. Mr. Mandela, the anti-apartheid revolutionary, died on Thursday at age 95. Former President Bill Clinton and daughter Chelsea are traveling separately to South Africa. Former President
President Obama will make remarks on Nelson Mandela´s legacy during a memorial service Tuesday for the late South African freedom fighter, officials said Monday. "We do expect President Obama to speak as part of the program," said Ben Rhodes, deputy national security adviser for strategic communications. The president and first lady Michelle Obama departed Monday for Johannesburg, where a Mandela memorial service will be held in a soccer stadium. Obama, who will also spend time with the Mandela family, is not scheduled to hold any bilateral meetings with foreign leaders while in South Africa, Rhodes said. Rhodes also said the
Barack Obama has arrived in South Africa to lead the American delegation at a memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela in Johannesburg. All three networks on Monday morning highlighted the appearance of the Obamas at the Kennedy Center Honors, but only ABC fawned over "fashion win" of First Lady. Lara Spencer enthused that " one of the stars of the show was Michelle Obama." An excited Spencer explained that Mrs. Obama looked "absolutely ravishing in a flowing teal gown as she accompanied President Obama." The co-host declared, "Another big fashion win for the First Lady. CBS This Morning offered a full report on the various performers who were honored, but co-anchor Charlie Rose avoided ABC´s superlatives.
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
An Iraq veteran who thought he was buying an iPad as a Christmas present after responding to a Craigslist posting, has been shot dead in an Indianapolis parking lot by the fake sellers. New-dad Jim Vester, 32, was lured to an address on Wednesday in the west side of the city and brothers Tyron Kincade, 19, and Tyshaune Kincade, 18, have been arrested after Vester was shot dead leaving behind his one-year-old son, Gavin and wife, Jamie.
