Al Sharpton goes into
meltdown mode over voting
rights SCOTUS decision

Daily Caller, by Jeff Poor

Original Article

Posted By:Donttaxmebro, 6/25/2013 1:57:44 PM

Immediately upon the announcement of the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision on Tuesday in which the Section 4 of the 1965 Voting Rights Act was declared unconstitutional in the Shelby County v. Holder case, MSNBC’s Al Sharpton took to the airwaves to express his frustrations. Sharpton, the host of “PoliticsNation,” called on the president and others to speak out against the decision, but noted despite all the “voter suppression,” there was a record turnout. “I think the first thing we want to see is the president’s continued commitment to protecting voters around the country,” Sharpton said.

Comments:
This offended me and made me laugh at the same time. Sharpton and MSNBC as a whole did not do this very well

Sharpton, Obama, the democrats, et al, do not care a fig about MLK. They just need to drag him out of the grave and wave him around once in a while.

Rev Als said even though there was voter suppression last election, there was record turnout. What? Record turnout is now, somehow, voter suppression? IF Rev Al had a real though generated in his mind, he would electrocute himself. Watch this for the sheer folly of what passes for intellectual commentary now days.

Every vote by those not qualified to vote due to their position on the wrong side of the sod, prior voting in the same election or perhaps their lack of formalizing their right through citizenship, represents incremental voter suppression for the rest of us. Id laws = suppression: what pure unadulterated hogwash. It´s a simple matter of those wanting to cheat don´t want mechanisms that enforce the law, end of story. They are admitting their intent to break the law by resisting measures to enforce it.

What kind of a man is it who would say that his life´s work in race relations has yielded no improvements in race relations and be proud of it? That is what the Jacksons and Sharptons are saying. I would say that things have improved in spite of the Jacksons and Sharptons. Imagine where we would be if we had people as visible as these two, yet were interested in making things better rather than lining their own pockets and stoking the fires of racial animosity.

In an interview posted on the YouTube page owned by the filmmakers of last September’s documentary “The Muslims Are Coming” on Monday, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow targeted conservative Ann Coulter and radio host and so-called evangelist Bryan Fischer. Maddow was critical of Fischer and likened him to Coulter, author of "Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican," who Maddow insisted wasn’t to be taken seriously as a political player or a pundit, but instead just a comedian. “[A]nn Coulter was revealed not as a political player or even as a pundit, but essentially as a comedian,” Maddow explained.

On Thursday, semi-retired radio talker Neal Boortz predicted the republican party will not win control of the U.S. Senate in the 2014 midterm elections, despite all the pitfalls the democrats and president Barack Obama are facing, particularly with regards to ObamaCare. Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development.
