A non-minority would be nuts to be caught in Little Five Points.

Must be those darned Amish again.

I buy my shoes at Payless or Wal-Mart because taxes take too big a cut of my meager retiree/country pastor´s budget. I can´t afford $180 for any article of clothing.

I just received my first pair of Reeboks. They were priced at sixty dollars but were marked down on Amazon with free shipping. I remarked to my wife they were the most expensive ’sneakers´ I ever owned. I’ve been making do with $17 junk from Walmart up to now.

A hundred and eighty dollars for shoes?! Any shoes! Not in my life!
Not on my budget!

#5, most of those sneakers will never be worn. There is an underground cash industry, where collectors, who call themselves "sneakerheads" buy, sell, trade those sneakers.
(I don´t understand it either, but then I never understood beanie babies collectors.)

I feel guilty buying shoes that cost more than $40.00 and that´s for decent exercise shoes. Some people have seriously screwed up priorities.

Final line from the article:

"Atlanta police officer . . . says the shooter won´t be charged because investigators determined he fired in self-defense."

The appropriate ending.

Concealed carry nationally is between 5 and 10 percent of the population, which is probably enough for most social control situations.

Often, the person with the concealed carry permeit is a guy, so he covers down for his wife and family, so the impact is well beyond 5 to 10 percent, more like 10 to 20 percent.

Manchester, New Hampshire — The intra-GOP bloodshed that followed the 2012 elections is far from over, but the activists and officials who came together for an energetic day of speeches from top Republicans here showed an increasing clarity of purpose as the midterm elections gradually near. “To repeal Obamacare, we have to win elections,” New Hampshire Sen. President Obama’s Internal Revenue Service today quietly released a series of Obamacare “Health Care Tax Tips” warning Americans that they must obtain “qualifying” health insurance – as defined by the federal government – or face a “shared responsibility payment” when filing their tax returns in 2015. The term “shared responsibility payment” refers to the Obamacare individual mandate tax, one of at least seven tax hikes in the healthcare law that directly hit families making less than $250,000 per year.

Interrupting their vacation on Thursday, two Democrats -- Sen. Jack Reed of R.I. and Rep. The cost of a three-month extension is around $6.5 billion. Losing jobless benefits is like being hit by an "economic hurricane," said Rep. Levin, who sits on the House Ways and Means Committee. This perverse bailout culture is again evident in ObamaCare, which we now know contains a little-known provision that grants the administration a blank check for a taxpayer-funded bailout of insurance companies when ObamaCare fails. When President Obama recently announced his unilateral order to allow health insurers to ignore ObamaCare´s mandates and regulations and keep offering health plans that people wanted to keep, it exposed another fundamental problem in the law which puts American

Climate change’s latest casualty appears to be fish — or more specifically, fish brains — as researchers say the carbon dioxide that’s being absorbed into the ocean is causing the scaly creatures to lose their survival instincts. In other words, the fish are losing their minds, The Daily Mail reported. The acid from atmospheric carbon dioxide seeps into sea waters, dissolves and ultimately lowers the pH balance, researchers said. The acidic waters then hamper the fishes’ sensory systems, so they’re not able to distinguish between smells any longer, the scientists went on. When the acid levels get really high, the fish lose their
