NJ state of affairs
New York Post, by Isabel Vincent and Melissa Klein

Sen. Robert Menendez wooed a married newspaper publisher, taking the attractive brunette on a romantic getaway to the Caribbean, a tipster alleges. The New Jersey Dem and Cecilia Reynolds jetted to Puerto Rico, where they stayed at the isolated beach retreat of the island’s then-governor, Anibal Acevedo Vila. In a photo provided by the anonymous informant, Reynolds is sitting naked on a beach and suggestively smiling at the camera. In another set of pictures, they take turns posing against the same sunset backdrop.

So far,3 people in NJ have called for Melendez the step down. Everyone else is defending him saying that at least this woman was of legal age.

This was not just about a woman. With guys like Menendez it never is.

“Menendez apparently sees no ethics problem with taking his married girlfriend to the Puerto Rican governor’s beach house while the governor was under federal investigation, and published reports describe Menendez as putting a senatorial hold on the nomination of the US attorney who was to oversee the investigation,” said Ken Boehm, chairman of the National Legal and Policy Center. “Is there any wonder the public has such a low opinion of elected officials?”

there certainly has to be ´´power as aphrodisiac´´ in this story because Menendez certainly doesn´t exude sexuality.

Then again, there are Rupert Murdoch and George Soros to consider. I guess I´ve just never had the opportunity to get all sweaty with a gnarly rich old guy. eeeeek.

Some of life´s ´´missed chances´´ just don´t bear mental exploration...

My theory is that God, in His infinite wisdom, invented politics so that ugly little dweebs and Napolitanettes could attract someone so lacking in natural selection instincts that they would be willing to exchange bodily fluids with them from whichever orifice sufficed for their purposes.

This moral outrage, Menendez, and Rubio, both Cuban-Americans, represent 25% of the "Gang of Eight." Are we being sold out?

These two guys are causing me to re-think my great respect for Cuban emigres. [I may even send my autographed picture of Marco back.]

What perplexes me is why are these Cubans working so avidly to open the Rio Grande floodgates to a deluge of Mexicans and Central Americans? I thought Cubans had more pride.

What pride you ask? Try mistaking a Cuban for a Puerto Rican...and watch the reaction.

The State Department has no idea what happened to $6 billion used to pay its contractors. In a special “management alert” made public Thursday, the State Department’s Inspector General Steve Linick warned “significant financial risk and a lack of internal control at the department has led to billions of unaccounted dollars over the last six years. The alert was just the latest example of the federal government’s continued struggle with oversight over its outside contractors. The lack of oversight “exposes the department to significant financial risk,” the auditor said. “It creates conditions conducive to fraud, as corrupt individuals may attempt

In his opening statement during highly anticipated testimony Wednesday on Benghazi, former CIA deputy director Michael Morell claimed to be an intelligence professional who was willing to lay out the facts -- no matter how damaging. "I take very seriously the allegations about how the CIA in general and about how I in particular handled the analysis and the talking points," Morell told the House Intelligence Committee, in his first public testimony on the Benghazi attacks. "The ethical code under which intelligence officers carry out their responsibilities calls for total objectivity." But Morell´s own testimony would appear to undercut that

A triumphant President Barack Obama declared Tuesday his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better´ in a Rose Garden press conference. But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night.
