Nightmare scenario for the Democrats
Washington Examiner, by Byron York

Original Article

Posted By:ketchuplover, 6/22/2013 9:46:12 PM

"Here comes Hillary," announced CNN recently in a breathless story on the likelihood that former first lady, senator, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will run for president. (snip) The 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, it appears, is Hillary´s for the asking. But what if she doesn´t ask? What if Hillary Clinton chooses not to run, or for some reason is not able to run? After such a deep emotional investment in a Hillary candidacy, do Democrats have a Plan B? If by Plan B you mean a two-time presidential loser and lifetime Washington player, then the answer is

Comments:
Gee...when Hillary runs, the Dems will have gone from a Community Organizer to the spouse of a womanizer. Great qualifications. I think she will run, but I think she will lose. She doesn´t have the looks, the temperament, nor the stamina. She´d be an image candidate much like the one who beat her in 2008.

Next question............will the Repubs have anything better to run against whoever gets the Dem nod? Let´s hope it will be someone better than McCain & have more Repub backing than Romney got. Oh! & a little less voter fraud would also be nice.

If a known African-American Democrat decides to run, he or she will end up on the Democrat ticket, there is no doubt about that. As if that African-American Democrat is knocked out by Hillary Clinton and not put on the ticket, the Democrats know that a lot of their African-American voters are going to be insulted and may well just stay home on election day. If that happened the Democrats would lose the general election. That´s part of the Democrats nightmare, at least until they register enough new Hispanic foreign born voters in the years ahead to always win future national elections.

Please run Hillary.

There are so many unanswered questions we would like to ask.

Answer them in front of the 48% of Americans who are not Lo-fo voters.

Anybody who thinks that Hillary is the savior of the Democratic party id delusional. She´s a played out hack politician with more baggages in her resume than accomplishments. You add to that her medical problems, and her obvious alcoholism, and you come up with a fatally flawed candidate. A Hillary candidacy will sink the Democrats in 2016.

How come Kirsten Gillebrand gets a nod for President of the US and her mentor Chuck Schumer does not? Shouldn´t Chuck have a better chance than Kirsten? Absurd that Kirsten and particularly Elizabeth Warren should be considered candidates.

I think OP is right on the assessment. Its the result I disagree with. Even with all the baggage she will be carrying, she´ll inherit Obama´s LapDog media establishment that will cover for her. Point out her lack of experience, you´ll be called a sexist. Call her old, you´ll be labeled a bully. Try to point out her failings in the Senate & State, it will get swallowed up in the fawning din of the nightly news.

She will run & most likely will win as well. Not because she is the most qualified person, but because America ´needs´ a woman in the WH. Just like we ´needed´ a black guy in 2008. It will be 2008 all over again, with the gender card replacing the race card. And the LowFo´s will be out in force to ´make history´ again at the expense of the country.

Barack Obama, after fundamentally transforming the Constitution with the acquiescence of forward-looking Republicans, will announce his "presidency for life" in 2015, making all future presidential elections not only unnecessary, but deeply racist.

You know Democrats would go for this if they could.

Nightmare scenario for the GOP, another establishment moderate next-in-line like Dole, McCain, Romney. It doesn´t matter who the Democrats nominate, they´re all equally bad. Best case for me would be a strong GOP House majority and a GOP Senate minus McCain Graham Rubio and a few others.

Nos. 7 & 9 have got it about right. In addition the Repubs don´t have the stones to take on the dem candidate regardless of the flaws of PIAPS or anyone else. its like political battered wife syndrome - they just keep coming back for another beating assuming false blame for the defeats (lack of Hispanic love, conservatives, etc.)

Right Byron. That will happen when the Space Shuttle lands safely in my backyard and Mgumbgwa Sumbutu, Nigeria´s Minister of All the Moneys, finds me dishonorable, untrustworthy yet sans e-mail, actually sends me his late uncle´s 40 million dollars.
The only nightmare scenario for the Democrats is if 51 percent of the voters learn to read and comprehend.

Byron seems to me to have overlooked one of the more obvious Democratic candidates... Michelle Obama. Sure, she has a Chicago-sized chip on her shoulder, a temper that would melt iron, and a taste in clothes and lifestyle that approach Marie Antoinette´s. But the press loves her; she Zha-Zha Gabor-ishly adores a penthouse view, Park Avenue, power and its trappings -- she has the largest FLOTUS staff in history, more than triple her predecessor -- and she has at least two cards to play. What better way for the Left to cement the Obama legacy than with another Obama?

I don´t know what Plans A, B or C are but the goofy Republicans have a knack for handing elections to democrat communist. Be sure of that and if they pass amnesty to help the democrats and Obama they will no longer exist as a party the country will have one party. That´s Obama´s big dream and accomplishment.
I´m not voting again for a candidate picked by Karl Rove, Bill Kristol and the Beltway elites.
No more crawling on my knees over glass to cast my vote for a loser again. Three strikes and I´m out, Dole, McCain and Romney was my limit.
Hillary or who ever will win unless a firebrand conservative is picked and attacks the left like a pit bull not an aisle crossing, jelly spine loser who plays Washington games.

Common sense says that nobody would vote for a candidate who has a record of corruption, inexperience, failure, general incompetence and lack of any kind of class or moral upbringing.

But the dems did that in 2008 and 2012 and got away with it. It´s going to be Hillary in 2016 no matter how distasteful that is for patriots.

Thanks #15, that´s priceless. Probably true, but still funny.

FTA: "Two different strategists interviewed here claimed that 70 is the new 50."

Speaking as someone who turned 63 today, with a knee replacement looming, a herniated disc and a torn ligament in my shoulder, I can say with certainty that these "two strategists" are probably 35. Maybe younger.

70 is dang old -because I can see it from here. Heck, 63 is pretty old, thank you very much. You may have more wisdom and better judgement (maybe!) and be a lot more ornery as you get older but you definitely feel older, I can assure you.

The job of being POTUS is a tough one. Like running marathons every day. Even the overwhelmingly lazy current POTUS is getting grey from the job. Ronaldus Magnus was amazing for that stamina at his age. (And men have more stamina, feminists, sorry, fact.)

Hillary is still fat and has as nasty a disposition as ever. (Perfect for a diplomat, right?) She´s careless and has no leadership skills. And less stamina than any male opponent. And now she´s old. She doesn´t even look healthy. But as #15 points out...

Not that Hillary´s demented supporters care.

We need a firebrand conservative who will rally the country by showing us the benefits of our principles and the disgusting nature of the libs.

Millions of people need to show up at ALL of her rallies screaming, "Hillary lied, people died!" An every day, 24/7 commitment. Millions of us.
It´s important not to say, "Americans died" because the LoFos don´t care about that... but "PEOPLE died"---now that could mean fellow citizens of the world, that´s different--- they´ll listen. And if we could find animals who suffered in the Benghazi blast, we need posters of that, too. And images of the destroyed eco-system in the immediate area---all due to Hillary. That´s the only way 48% of America will hear us: dress down, don´t comb your hair, wear Che shirts if you can stand it, hold massive rallies, with no more than 4-word messages chanted ad nauseum and pictures of maimed animals or threatened eco-systems.
A clean cut Republican just standing behind a podium trying to explain logically and reasonably why Hillary is responsible for the loss of 4 Americans lives at Benghazi has NO chance whatsoever of reaching the LoFo minds.

Is it possible that even we, committed and loyal L dotters, have become inured to Hillary´s immediate and voluminous liabilities?

She assaults the senses. A singularly unattractive conglomeration of cells to begin with, her ´hopelessly butch´ looks (h/t Camille Paglia) have been creased and weighted down with age and alcoholism. The voice is the kind of high-midrange icepick drone that has been the default characterization for schoolmarms, phone operators, and, of course, nagging wives for decades. When stressed, it becomes a horrifying screech as evidenced by her early campaign speeches and that shameful, bloodless Benghazi testimony.

A 2016 election means that an 18 year old voter will have a birth date in the year 1998 (!). They don´t know a thing about Headband Hillary, Watergate Hillary or even pre-Lewinsky First Lady Hillary. That 18 year old voter may be for gender equality but that doesn´t necessarily mean that they can associate that ideal with the sausage-fingered, bloated, shapeless mass teetering on a booster platform behind a podium. The American worship of youth and the primacy of physical appearance in our culture may just mean that a lifetime of leftist public education and a long list of PC taboos may still not be sufficient to overcome a young voter´s natural revulsion to Hillary, especially over a long primary and general campaign.

The crimes of Hillary Clinton are all out there for America to see. Unlike the secretive birth imposter, Hussein. There are three dozen widely published books, Wall Street Journal articles and endless videos filled with foul play information on this elderly overweight, tired, mean female. Crimes already committed with her co-president are legion. Remember, she’s already suffered impeachment ! How can anyone impeached, run again? If she ever got in, that’s TWO impeached failures in the White House, not one. A vote against Billary is a vote against Slick Willie, too. Enough of commie Billary.
The anti communist side needs a charging, brilliantly educated, set the house on fire, spirited intellectual who talks always, only, plain sense, and has the background to prove it. There is one guy who is always joyously tough, non stop spirit of America, author of some great books, legal background, so good, so effective, that Roger Aisles cut him down to less time on Fox News, you know the name,
Judge Andrew Napolitano. All previous GOP nominees have been meek wash rags, say nothing, do nothing, elitist reserve, losers. Napolitano is built for positive, constructive campaigning like no other. With the help of a younger, accomplished running mate like Scott Walker, they could light up the whole country. No Rubio, Cruz, Boehner, Cantor, none of those paste-up fake republicans even considered. Napolitano could unite all the previously bullied Tea Party Congress winners back out of the closet of intimidation, too. He has knowledge, fame and spirit.

#9 and #15 pretty much sum up my thinking. Bill might croak before 2016, and Hillary will then run as the "widder Clinton," and get the sympathy vote. I wouldn´t put it past her to put a contract on him so she can.

I will only add that the Republican establishment is going to push Jeb Bush early and hard to avoid a long primary season like 2008 and 2012. Another wimp who can´t win.

After that, the only question is will I bother to vote.

Obie probably does not give a flip who will be the next progressive presidential candidate, but his handlers and the progressive intelligencia do. If it is Bite Me,the Piaps, Lurch? Who knows. Just depends when and how much the big Aftershock hits us all and how well the msm gets into the heads of the sheep that everything will be allright if we elect another known criminal to the WH.

But, let´s be clear, we need to get it right as to the opposition candidate who understands and has the smarts to launch the mother of all campaign ground games that, by the way, will require all of us to get out and get involved in a big way.

He has no where togo. He can´t be re-elected in Fl. The two candidates Weeks and Crist together bested him by almot 200,000 votes. So He runs with Hillary.
And he tells the country that he does it for the "American-Mexicans" and that America is not the Land of the fee and the home of the knave.
It is the land of "Si,como No?" And why not a Mexican/cuban / Whatever blarney to run for VP.

My thoughts are about who will the Republicans run? We all know that if a true conservative should win the nomination, the drive-by media and the DNC will crucify him/her. And use every nasty trick in the book and then some. And for that matter, how many true conservatives can you really name? And I mean those who´s conservative vales are unbending. She is running. It is not complicated.

Start telling everyone you know that the last person who served as a stroke victim was Woodrow Wilson and his spouse ran The White House in his waning months in office.

While I cannot provide it, I strongly believe she had a stroke, and that this is why she disappeared for awhile. Those prism glasses are a huge clue.

With a few exceptions, this thread is nought but gloom and doom. We do have many sizzling conservative constitutionalists out there - [they don´t happen to be named Jeb or Marco] - who can carry the fight with the vigor of truth at their side into the opposition camp. We must make it abundantly clear that our chosen candidate is exactly that - ours, not that of the ´wussy´gaggle of old DC establishment republicans. The GOP has strayed seriously away from the Constitution´s basic principles, and allowed dubious leadership to coerce and cajole them away from the reasons they went to Washington in the first place - to do what the people elected them to do, not what some party whip says. We pay them - never forget that big fact. We want value for our treasure.

In 2008 I worked with some stalwart Republicans. As the Democrat Primary progressed and BHO started to pull away they started to relax thinking that BHO was the weaker candidate. I suggested that they did not appreciate the subtlities of Chicago Politics.

It doesn´t matter who the Democrats run, as long as the Republicans are unwilling to confront the voter fraud issue the Democrats will always win.

Mickey Rooney, Legendary Actor,

Mickey Rooney, the pint-sized actor who was one of MGM’s giant box office attractions in the late ’30s and early ’40s, died on Sunday. He was 93. As adept at comedy as drama and an excellent singer and dancer, Rooney was regarded as the consummate entertainer. During a prolific career on stage and screen that spanned eight decades (“I’ve been working all my life, but it seems longer,” he once said), he was nominated for four Academy Awards and received two special Oscars, the Juvenile Award in 1939 (shared with Deanna Durbin) and one in 1983 for his body of work.

Last week, news broke that a congressional candidate in Gainesville had a secret pastime: impersonating vampires. And superheroes. Some people would call this nutty. In Florida, we just call it Tuesday. Seriously, that´s not even our highest-profile vampire story. Remember the "vampire killings" from Lake County? Some of our stories are heartbreakingly tragic. But so many are also mind-numbingly strange. In Florida, we do weird the way Kansas does wheat. Here, giant pet snakes escape. And breed. And then invade our national parks. We have fish that eat people, alligators that eat people and people who eat people.

One of the latest tools targeting the growing problem of texting while driving didn´t come out of Apple, Google or Microsoft. It was the brainchild of two Orlando-area entrepreneurs who recently launched a new mobile app called Txt Shield. The idea behind Txt Shield, which runs on Android phones, is to short-circuit any texting capability when people are cruising down the highway, according to brothers Philip and Geoffrey Stiles, co-founders and partners in Txt Shield LLC. Parents can install it on their teens´ phones; employers can put it on company-issued phones; and individuals can download it to help resist the urge to

President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security caught then released 68,000 aliens who had previously been convicted of a crime, a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies shows. The report, provided to Breitbart News ahead of its late Sunday evening release, reviews internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) metrics to conclude that the Obama administration released 35 percent—or 68,000—convicted criminal aliens back into the U.S. general population when they could have been deported. San Jose, Calif. — A usually busy DMV office in San Jose was closed Friday after a motorist waiting to take a driver´s test crashed her car into the building and caused a gas leak. President Obama says the thousands of Irish immigrants in the US are being denied opportunities because of the US strict immigration laws. The President was speaking the traditional Shamrock ceremony at the White House as part of the St Patrick´s Day celebrations. The issue of immigration reform was a priority for the Irish Government delegation, led by Enda Kenny. The delegation has been lobbying in Washington during the St Patrick´s Day trip for reforms to benefit the 50,000 undocumented Irish there. President Obama said too many undocumented Irish were denied the chance to contribute to society as they were not able to pay taxes

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls.
