Markey’s State of Residence Questioned
Washington Free Beacon, by Lachlan Markay

Original Article

Posted By:LadyVet, 6/19/2013 6:31:58 PM

A conservative group is challenging Democrat Ed Markey’s Massachusetts residency less than a week before he faces a special election for a U.S. Senate seat in that state. Markey, currently a member of the House of Representatives, should legally be considered a resident of Maryland, America Rising PAC stated in a Tuesday complaint filed with the Maryland state comptroller. The group also claims Markey violated Maryland law by failing to file Maryland tax returns despite living primarily in that state.

Comments:
He blames his accountant for listing MD as his state of residency. His accountant knows the federal tax laws. Obviously, Markey knows little after his 37 years in Congress. Your tax home is where you work, where you spend your time, where you own a home.

Despite some questions as to state of residence and where he pays taxes, Markey is a solid democrat, and will reliably vote the party line. That is all that counts. He will vote as he is told to vote by party leadership. That should be all that is needed to get him elected.

It was a flight bound for Florida, and some airline pilots believe it also may have been a dry-run for terrorists. The 10 News Investigators have obtained an internal memo that details a frightening incident that brings back memories of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Since then, federal efforts have gone in place to prevent a similar attack, leading many to believe another attack what happened on 9/11 could never happen again. Wolf Koch, who flies Boeing 767s for Delta Airlines and is the Aviation Security Committee Chairman for the Air Line Pilots Association International, says that belief "is very foolish."

After purchasing the Boston Globe in 1993 for a then-record $1.1 billion, the financially troubled New York Times just announced it sold the 141 year-old paper to Boston Red Sox owner John Henry for a mere $70 million. That´s a straight 93% loss. Figuring in two decades of inflation would only make it worse -- as does the fact the Times retains the Globe´s pension liabilities, estimated at over $100 million. (snip) What might have sweetened the lower offer for the Times is that Henry offered a straight cash deal, which is expected to close sometime in September or October.

Sgt. John Hartley Robertson´s name is etched along with 60,000 others onto Washington D.C.´s poignant Vietnam memorial - no doubt visited many times by the wife and two children he left behind. But what if Robertson didn´t die during a classified special ops mission over Laos in 1968 as military records show but is still alive and well? That is the jaw dropping question posed by a new documentary which claims to have tracked down the one-time Green Beret to south-central Vietnam - where the 76-year-old is unable to remember his birthday, his American children’s names, or how to speak English.

A new review is questioning the effectiveness of two key drugs enlisted in the fight against influenza and in turn the investments by governments to stockpile the drugs in the event of a global flu outbreak. The antiviral drugs Tamiflu (oseltamivir) and Relenza (zanamivir ) are commonly used to treat influenza in healthy adults and children. In the case of Tamiflu, the drug does shorten symptoms of influenza by about half a day - as the manufacturer suggests - but there is insufficient evidence to support claims that it reduces hospital admissions or serious complications, such as confirmed pneumonia or

Solar power has won the global argument. Photovoltaic energy is already so cheap that it competes with oil, diesel and liquefied natural gas in much of Asia without subsidies. Roughly 29pc of electricity capacity added in America last year came from solar, rising to 100pc even in Massachusetts and Vermont.[Snip] The technology is improving so fast--helped by the US military--that it has achieved a virtous circle. Michael Parker and Flora Chang, at Sanford Bernstein, say we entering a new order of "global energy deflation" that must ineluctably erode the viability of oil, gas and the fossil fuel nexus over time.
