White House Blows the Berlin Speech
White House Dossier, by Keith Koffler

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 6/19/2013 4:40:56 PM

President Obama’s speech at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin today was a stage director’s nightmare. The president was sweating profusely – you could see the outlines of his undershirt. There were ghostly reflections off the protective glass in front of him. And instead of heaving throngs of admirers, Obama addressed 6,000 or so invited guests. And something was wrong with TOTUS! Obama was peering down at his script instead of using his trusty teleprompter. We’re not accustomed anymore to seeing our leaders glance toward the lectern to read, so the president came off looking as if he couldn’t remember

Comments:
Chrissie Matthews was wrong about the Berlin sun. TOTUS was broken.

Part about what he looked like, at end of article, is funny...

The Germans had limited the size of the crowd. The reason was given, but I can´t remember right now what it was. It must have been very hot there, too, because when Obama said he was taking off his jacket and they should too the crowd loved it and applauded and yelled.

Many experienced (and surely by now, Obama can be consideered experienced) have had speech malfunctions, whether it was in the notes, the teleprompter or whatever. All of us can remember Ronald Reagan correcting his text as he spoke if the notes didn´t say what he wanted. Didn´t Sarah Palin make an important speech with a broken teleprompter? I remember that George W. Bush certainly did. I´m not sure of the circumstances with Palin, but Reagan and Dubya knew their material so well, the teleprompter was just an assistant, not the crutch it seems to be with Obama. So, he´s been exposed, once again, in a speech he hoped would bring back the cheers and flowers.

#6, you may be talking about Sarah Palin´s acceptance speech at the Republican convention in 2008. I remain convinced that the person running the teleprompter was intentionally trying to sabotage her by scrolling too rapidly.
But she handled it well.

I also think this guy only does well when he is amongst nothing but adoring, worshipful throngs. His celebrity twinkle dust is wearing off, even amongst liberals, reinforced by the fact they had to go with a VETTED smaller crowd this time around. His staff made sure only nitwits that would scream in ectasy if he removed his jacket or loosed a tie were invited!! Hee-hee. Bingo, #14. Sarah proved that very night how good she really is!

He cannot say one intelligent sentence when the teleprompter is unavailable.
My favorite memory of him speechless is when he was campaigning in Bristol, Va in the fall of 2008. He had no teleprompter and spent at least five minutes saying "uh". In the end he blamed the audience for trying to help him find the words he was trying to say. It was hilarious, I knew he was BAD even then.
He took is trusty TelePrompTer with him from that time on, like a baby with a pacifier.

There were reports on several occasions when guests to the Oval Office were hot under the collar because Obama had the thermostat turned up to the point where David Axelrod commented "You could grow orchids in there." And there were comments about, well, Obama grew up in Hawaii and "he likes it warm."

So what was the difference between the Hawaii heat and the Berlin heat? I don´t know what time he spoke but Wunderground shows the 11 a.m. temp at 84F with 50% humidity and wind from the ENE at 9 mph; and the 2 p.m. temp at 90F with 40% humidity and wind from the ENE at 11 mph. There was a cool breeze (see flags in video)--so why was he sweating so much? Didn´t look as if the sun was full on him, in fact, it appeared that his audience was facing more sun than he was.

Perhaps it was the stress of reading from notes instead of a TOTUS or two.

WASHINGTON — Stepping into a heated debate within the nation’s intelligence agencies, President Obama has decided that when the National Security Agency discovers major flaws in Internet security, it should — in most circumstances — reveal them to assure that they will be fixed, rather than keep mum so that the flaws can be used in espionage or cyberattacks, senior administration officials said Saturday. Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already
