Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
Comments: We have yet another article that will infuriate you. This immigration bill ignores the critical problems now present and will only make it worse. It must not pass.
I know they don´t care, but the republians have lost so many votes with the immigration bill, the gun bill, and more. I truly don´t know if I"ll ever vote again. And please don´t tell me that means the dems will win. What are we voting for now and what are we getting?
This news made the rounds a week or so ago, with a link to the TV video. I emailed it to lotsa friends, but got no response from any. I think there is so much "stuff" flying back and forth regarding illegal aliens and IRS fraud that no one even reads most of the new news. This one is BIG.
About 5 years ago, in my neighborhood, which was once solidly working class with pride of ownership, but now overrun with illegal immigrants, an Hispanic "Tax Preparation" business moved into a small vacant storefront. Everything is in Spanish, and from January until April the business is non-stop. I knew about this child tax credit fraud back then because I had to figure out what was going on as there must be some reason all these deadbeats were lining up. As I inquired more, I learned a lot of illegals work just up until they make enough money to be required to file a tax return, then quit. (So they don´t lose the welfare benefits for the anchor babies). The same ones I see in the local supermarket using food stamps are the same ones on line to file their tax returns in January. Someone in the know said they are getting as much as $6000.00/year in CREDITS!
I found it interesting that the applicant for citizenship has to prove proficiency in English. If that´s true, why are there signs in other languages of where to vote as well as pamphlets describing referendums.
The child care tax credit (payment)without proof of payments to an authorized child care prvider makes no sense to me.
"Both men are in the process of developing the immigration reform issue into a serious credibility problem with their own conservative base." And "there are conservatives aplenty who listen to Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan and simply don’t believe a word they say on immigration."
Both men are so far past "serious credibility problem" that they can´t even see it in the rearview mirror. Both men surveyed the landscape and went all in FOR noncitizens and AGAINST Americans. Both men know there is no going back and, having nothing to lose, have no alternative but to jam this thing through. So be it. But if conservatives have anything to say about it, it will be the last political act for both of them. We will feed their treachery back to them at the ballot box.
I spit when I say their names, the taste is so foul.
It´s been common knowledge for many years that the vast majority of illegal aliens who file federal and state tax returns do so not to pay actual taxes they owe, but to collect tax refunds of money withheld by their employers, and tax credits that can easily amount to over $5,000.00 for each illegal alien per year.
That happens because most illegal aliens do not earn enough money to generate a bottom line tax liability, plus the fact that they usually claim a very large number of dependents, sometimes with the dependents actually residing outside the USA, clearly a lot of the dependent claims are fraudulent, but of course nobody is looking, as doing that would be politically incorrect.
The US Government has done nothing to stop that, with activists fraudulently claiming that illegal aliens are just paying their taxes which in reality they have never done. To facilitate that bogus process more the US Government through the IRS has developed a process of issuing illegal aliens "tax identification numbers" for the illegal aliens to use as most of them do not have valid social security numbers.
We are being invaded by an army of immoral, low-skilled workers and our own government is complicit in the invasion. Somehow, some way, these leaders are going to pay a price for their self-induced blindness.
And don´t tell me that highly skilled workers like nurses and engineers are coming here from Mexico. They don´t have any.
There has been a coup de etat in our country. The Democratic Party has become a criminal enterprise, using illegals, low-information voters, and the federal civil service to engage in electoral fraud, embezzle billions from law-abiding citizens into their own pockets and those of the criminal class they have created, and suppress legal consequences through their control of the media and the judiciary. America is over, and we lost because we did not dare to believe (and were brainwashed against believing) what has happened.
I started to read the article and about halfway through I quit. Not that it wasn´t a well written article, its just that what we, the taxpaying legal resident thinks doesn´t matter. Those clowns in D. C. and sadly I now have to include Rubio among them are going to roll this through. It is going to be a disaster and it can never be walked back Once these illegal immigrants get amnesty, it can never be taken away from them. The Rubios and Schumers of the world will walk away from the disastrous results and retire with their generous pensions and perks and let the rest of us schmucks deal with the day in and day out results if their stupidity. This push to amnesty must be stopped and stopped NOW.
Tax fraud, voting fraud, immigration fraud. No big deal. It´s the Democratic way and we are doomed. I live in Indy and remember this report. I also worked for H&R Block. With so many audits going on wouldn´t you think the IRS might question someone claiming 15 dependent children? They should have to prove what they are claiming. So we have illegals living and working here illegally, claiming billions in illegal refunds, straining our educational and medical systems etc. but we are the bad guys because we want our border secured. We are in real deep pooh and when it hits the fan it is splashing on Rubio and any other R that votes for this cow pie. Vote buying instead of following our Constitution. We are being attacked from all sides.
I would love to get together with several like-minded individuals and intelligently discuss where we can create a new America. This is no longer our country and it is a losing battle to try to take it back. I would rather expend my energies in a manner where they will be of use.
The dems have won. We are at End Game. They have reached the point where there are son many lo-fo´s and gov´t aid dependents, coupled with their ability to count their votes several times that it is no longer possible to change things at the ballot box - unless you cheat more. It will soon get to the point where one will have to beg the gov´t for anything they want.
I live in Texas, but unless we print our own money, create our own military and wall ourselves off, even we are screwed.
What baffles me is this: What´s "in it" for Rubio and Ryan to sell their souls for amnesty?
We know they can´t possibly believe their amnesty bill "is what´s best for the country."
So strike off naive idealism. What´s left? Political advantage? But how...? They must know they´re killing their political future with conservatives, and that conservatives still dominate the primary process?
Any republican who can vote for this bill can change to the democrat party. That party will defeat any new Palin-Cruz conservative party. Republicans do not stand for anything any more, or speak passionately to any evil. They are dragged kicking and screaming, and the heroes in the party are denigrated by the biggest turncoats. Maybe they were taken themselves, not thinking their collaboration would mean the end of America -- it was just a deal that would see more Mexicans to pay taxes and supply labor and join the services. They also had their precious comity, and a share of internationalist money. The sell out was clear when no republicans called for proof of Obama´s eligibility. A new Immigration Bill was going to normalize outlander status anyway, so why call the new black guy a probable thug? The press took care of the "birther" interest to this day. Republicans were schooled on fairness, an empty term, and most of them know the ship has sailed for a new world order. Republicans are silent, dumb, vicious, and they stand for nothing. They also lack heroic leaders.
Well written, believable and incredibly discouraging. I liked Rubio and I had pretty much fallen for his ´we will build the security plan into the bill´ until I read Ed Meese´s description of this bill as almost a carbon copy of Reagan´s self described as amnesty bill (which supposedly had the same security plan elements built in but turned out to be pure amnesty and nothing but). The horror is I think a lot of people are buying it. That´s why Harry Reid is in such a rush to get it passed . . . don´t give the chumps time to figure it out.
WHY is no one putting this out there for the Lo-infos? It is all good and well here on the conservative sites, but that is preaching to the choir! Why is no one using our RNC contributions to buy TV air time with this message? Why don´t we get a program like the Dems and call folks to tell them we will call their friends and let them know they are supporting bad legislation? In short why the h--l don´t we fight fire with fire?
Ever get hassled over little things that some Puritanical enforcer wants to punish you for? And then see these non-Americans get away with massive fraud so major that it is breathtaking?
I know of leftist, radical, activist idiots who are complete and total suckers for certain "downtrodden" types, most especially for those who speak only Spanish.
I´ve seen Hispanics who can speak perfectly good English use only Spanish in most cases instead, to continue to hoodwink the soft-hearted and soft-headed enablers who cave to them and their poor "plight."
Folks, we are living in Sucker City now, and we are paying for it.
Vote in 2014 like your life depends on it... because it actually does.
Our biggest hope is that, in addition to Ryan and Rubio looking like utter frauds, the Kommie Kare taxes and regulations will be so shockingly burdensome that the game will be over for all these liars who are just O-Bomber Clones.
Otherwise, we´re finished. Within the next three or four years... Either they are finished... Or we are. That should make you take a Big Gulp.
After one year of English lesson, my mother passed the U.S. History exam at Immigrations office and got her U.S. Citizenship. That was 40 years ago. ...and we´re giving amnesty to those illegal aliens who don´t want to learn English and U.S. history?
It is just so disheartening. I live in a rural community and although I have a very good job, I´ve never made more than $40k. Getting close to retirement age and trying to figure out why I am only going to get $1,400/mo. when I will have been working 45 CONTINUOUS years. Now I never expected that social security would be enough, but it seems to be a lot less than welfare these days. I also have a disease that immediately qualifies me for a lung transplant if I get too bad. But I´ve been working with that since 2004, never thought about applying for a disability; just figured they would make me drag an oxygen machine to work. Heck, I´m sure I won´t be able to afford an oxygen machine or lung transplant after Obamacare kicks in. I´m dragging my sorry butt to work to pay for everyone else to not work and play with their smart phones. Just had to vent.
FTApage 5) ",,,Time and time and time again this always comes back to the incompetence and/or corruption of a government that is seen as being run by arrogant mandarins of the ruling class elite..." Further FTApage 6)"...Trust the government, say Rubio and Ryan. Really. This time it will work. Honest.
After an endless series of stories about incompetence or outright corruption in one government scandal after another, not to mention the massive failure of the 1986 Reagan immigration law, there are conservatives aplenty who listen to Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan and simply don’t believe a word they say on immigration.
Not good. People we seem to have a problem! Trust The Government AND The elected Politicians (of either party.) Trust Government may be the next oxy-moron!
It all amounts to OPM aka other people´s money aka you tax dollars they take and abuse.
Whether it´s an illegal alien or Zippy and the Wookie with the friends and family tagging along on vacay on our dollar, We the People are never given credit for supporting the lot of them. They fail to understand ´somebody has to make the donuts´ to support all of the lies and greed.

What is this? The scandal du jour?
Hard working white, Asian, baby boomer and other conservative tax paying Americans need to band together and file a lawsuit against our government, charging it with involutary servitude, aka, slavery. The libs goals is to enslave whitey et al punish them for slavery. Most libs are so ignorant, power hungry and/or corrupt that they do not care that most "whitey´s" had nothing to do with slavery and emigrated to America after the Civil War.
Though President Barack Obama has taken up the cause as his own, a new report from The Hill’s Russell Berman shows that the current comprehensive immigration reform deliberations began in secret in Congress long before Obama ever took office. “Leaders in both parties, including [House Speaker John] Boehner, once had high hopes for the group, which formed before Obama took office in 2009,” Berman wrote on Tuesday morning, in the first of a two-part series. “The Speaker had made clear in public and in private that the House needed to tackle immigration reform after the 2012 election, and he told
As promised, the Associated Press has recently fallen out of favor with Big Ethanol (tragedy strikes!) over their big report released today that finally, earnestly picks up on what opponents of the Renewable Fuel Standard and other biofuels subsidies have been insisting for ages now: That corn ethanol is not the helpful climate-change panacea that its advocates are incessantly, deliberately misrepresenting it as, and in fact, on net evaluation, the government’s wildly political biofuels push has brought about more long-term environmental harm than good. The AP sets it up pertinently, noting that the window just before the Iowa caucuses in
For "fun." This story from a local news outlet in New Jersey reminded me of the case of Chris Lane, the Australian teenager who was shot and killed by three teenagers in Oklahoma because they were "bored." According to the report, teenagers play a sick game called "knock out," which requires either a large group of people or individuals to attack someone on the street to see if they can "knock them out." One man who was interviewed about the "game" said the victim can be anyone, including a woman and her young children. "You just knock them out, hit
Speaking to Meet the Press moderator David Gregory for NBC´s web-based program Press Pass on Sunday, usually liberal actor Rob Lowe expressed a more conservative political perspective: "Just my own world view is that the individual needs to be more responsible for their own lives and that´s not the conversation we´re having right now, for whatever reason." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump] Lowe was discussing his role as President Kennedy in the new documentary Killing Kennedy and used JFK to make his point: "Kennedy´s ´Ask not what your country can do for you, but what
What world does Chris Matthews live in? The MSNBC anchor worked himself into a frenzy on Monday night, ranting that the "so-called independent media" are just too soft on all the "racist" elements within the Republican Party. Talking to his fellow liberals David Corn and Ed Rendell, the Hardball host balked, "I look at the free ride the media has been giving the Republican Party." [See video below. MP3 audio here.] According to Matthews, it´s conservative media bias that causes most journalists to ignore the "40 million people [Republicans] want to commit to the emergency room!" Conservatives "don´t want to lift
A member of the House Progressive Caucus blamed insurance companies for canceled plans and rate hikes as they try to comply with new Obamacare regulations. Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.) hailed Obamacare as “the furthest that we’ve gotten in developing a social safety net for Americans.” “We have unemployment insurance. We have Social Security, we have welfare programs of people who don’t have money, and now, we’re going to get a healthcare system for everybody, we’ve had one for senior citizens and for children. And the Republican establishment, the Tea Party people are bound and determined to drive us back. And they are
Though a sideshow throughout Obamacare’s passage and litigation, Medicaid’s pivotal role in President Obama’s health care reform effort has become apparent following the law’s October 1 implementation. In many states, Medicaid enrollment through the Healthcare.gov portal is dwarfing the number of “private” insurance plan purchases. While this development represents a major financial threat to the survival of Obamacare, new regulations established by Obamacare to cover Medicaid enrollment have created a major threat to the United States’ ability to administrate that far larger benefit program. Following is a summary of the problem: Non-citizens are eligible for Medicaid and CHIP (Children’s Health
Patricia Ward Kelly, widow of legendary entertainer Gene Kelly, says her husband emerged from the Great Depression angry at how his fellow Americans had suffered during the financial crisis. He could have turned his back on his country. Instead, he celebrated its greatness the best way he knew how. Kelly helped create a uniquely American form of dance that still resonates--and inspires young dancers--today. Kelly says the Singin´ in the Rain star eschewed European aesthetics, marked by ballroom dancing on polished floors. He sought to mimic how an American male moved, choosing popular songs from the era over European-style percussive
Though we are still over a thousand days away from the 2016 presidential election, NBC commissioned a poll looking at a hypothetical match-up between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Chris Christie. As of today, Clinton would trounce Christie by a full 10 points, 44% to 34%. NBC´s Chuck Todd has been making a good point all morning; that this poor showing for Christie comes at a time when the New Jersey governor is enjoying a political high point. He not only won a commanding re-election in a blue state, but his national media coverage has been mostly positive. The poll also shows
Chris Christie´s historic re-election victory isn´t without criticism. He´s been tagged as a moderate in the Republican Party. An aspect that isn´t too popular with the conservative grassroots base. Nevertheless, he took to the Sunday morning talk shows to push back against those claims. Yet, when pressed by George Stephanopoulos on the issue of immigration, Gov. Christie decided to prevaricate, evade, and pivot away from giving a position on the issue, specifically on in-state tuition for illegal aliens and a pathway to citizenship. He was mum on citizenship, but given that he was against the Dream Act before he was
Take a quick glance at ObamaCare’s busted multimillion-dollar website and the 3.5 million health insurance cancelation notices hitting American mailboxes and you might be tempted to dub the whole thing a disaster. But it’s not -- at least not for the politically-connected crony companies and big money Obama fundraisers poaching your tax dollars to fix the debacle they helped create. As CNBC recently put it: “Thanks to ObamaCare, the health-care industry is going to get a big makeover during the coming years and venture capitalists have wasted no time looking for ways to cash in.” Put simply, ObamaCare’s complexity and
In a 2-1 ruling on Friday, a federal appeals court in Chicago upheld the rights of both individuals and companies to challenge Obamacare´s contraception-abortifacient-sterilization mandate. It is the first decision of its kind in the ongoing litigation against the requirement that all employers -- despite their deeply held religious beliefs -- must arrange and pay for employee health insurance that covers no-cost contraceptives, abortion-inducing drugs, and sterilization, under penalty of fine. "This is a significant victory for protecting the religious beliefs of individuals and corporations," said Edward White, senior counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice, who represents
It’s sad that Maverick’s taking this idea just seriously enough that he’d think to mention it to another human being. He’s 77 years old, ran a famously chaotic campaign in 2008 before getting crushed on election day, and would face a much stronger, younger field in the primaries than he did last time. That he forced me just now to devote even half a second of thought to how he might stack up against the 2016 contenders is frankly embarrassing, and something for which I’ll never forgive him. It’s like watching a 60-year-old pitcher announce that he’s thinking of coming
James O’Keefe, the guerrilla videographer who helped bring down ACORN (the “community organizing” group that Barack Obama worked for as a lawyer and trainer) and got NPR’s president fired, is back. This time, his undercover investigators focused on Obamacare’s “navigators,” the nearly 50,000 people who, in the words of the Department of Health and Human Services, “will serve as an in-person resource for Americans who want additional assistance in shopping for and enrolling in plans” on the Obamacare exchanges (at least when they’re finally working). The total value of grants doled out for nonprofits and community organizations to hire navigators
WASHINGTON — When President Obama travels abroad, his staff packs briefing books, gifts for foreign leaders and something more closely associated with camping than diplomacy: a tent. Even when Mr. Obama travels to allied nations, aides quickly set up the security tent — which has opaque sides and noise-making devices inside — in a room near his hotel suite. When the president needs to read a classified document or have a sensitive conversation, he ducks into the tent to shield himself from secret video cameras and listening devices. American security officials demand that their bosses — not just the president, but
Sen. Kay Hagan (D-N.C.) will ask two oversight agencies for a full-blown investigation into the problems surrounding the ObamaCare launch. Hagan, who is up for reelection in 2014, is asking her Senate colleagues to co-sign a letter asking two agencies to conduct “a complete, thorough investigation to determine the causes of the design and implementation failures of HealthCare.Gov.” “These problems are simply unacceptable, and Americans deserve answers and swift solutions,” Hagan writes in a letter obtained by The Hill. “Taxpayers are owed a full and transparent accounting of how the vendors contracted to build the site failed to launch it
Washington: A woman, who claims to have been a classmate of Barack Obama, said that the president was gay and used cocaine in school. In a bizarre interview, Mia Marie Pope told right-wing preacher James David Manning that she believes Obama was not only active within the gay community, but also a heavy cocaine user during his years in Hawaii. Pope said that Obama always portrayed himself as a foreign student, adding that girls were never anything that he ever was interested in, but he would get along with older white gay men. She added that Obama at that time was also
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) said he has no plans to run again for the White House. Speaking to the Arizona Republic, McCain said he had received "a spate of e-mails and letters and phone calls" urging him to run since the government shutdown. But he said he´s focused on whether to run for a sixth term in the Senate, not for president. “As you know, I’m seriously thinking about running for re-election to the Senate," he said. "But I think, in the words of the late Morris K. Udall, as far as my presidential ambitions are concerned, ‘The people have spoken —
Fourteen years ago, I was asked to be a keynote speaker at the Richmond County Women´s Republican Club annual dinner. I had started my column at the Staten Island Advance the year before, and as an Hispanic who had grown up in Spanish Harlem, many Republicans were surprised that I was a conservative. It was my first speaking engagement and one I accepted reluctantly, but I felt that it was an opportunity to offer some advice to the Republican Party about winning over the voters in the barrios and the inner city.
Veterans, we think about you all the time. Sometimes we fail to tell you. Today, on Veteran’s Day, we put our admiration for you into words. World War II, Korean and Vietnam Veterans. We will start with you. You fought for our freedom. You watched your closest friends fall by your side and you were heartbroken, knowing it could have been you. You shoulder the burden of painful and haunting memories. Many of you have physical wounds; you sacrificed your warrior’s body for us, people you never met. You use a cane or a wheelchair now because of your choice
Perhaps the most entertaining facet of watching the scales fall from liberal´s eyes about Obamacare is the absolute shock they experience when their liberal friends chastise them for complaining. Lori Gottlieb, a contributing editor for The Atlantic and a psychotherapist, writes in the NY Times about her conversation with Blue Anthem insurance and the reaction by her "friends" on Facebook when she posted about it: THE Anthem Blue Cross representative who answered my call told me that there was a silver lining in the cancellation of my individual P.P.O. policy and the $5,400 annual increase that I would have to
Bernard Goldberg joined Bill O’Reilly Monday night to address what he believes is a “potentially fatal split” in the Republican party’s immediate future. He said that if the tea party keeps rejecting anyone who isn’t basically Ted Cruz for the 2016 presidential nomination, the party’s going to be in some big trouble and invite in a strong Democratic victory. O’Reilly framed the fight as a “classic moderate Republican versus hard-right Republican” feud, and Goldberg rejected the “ideological rigidity” of people who will sit on their hands and refuse to vote for a Republican presidential nominee if they aren’t sufficiently conservative
Swampscott, Massachusetts Selectman Barry Greenfield is pushing a measure to give police the authority to conduct home searches to check proper storage of firearms. Greenfield said "state law requires Massachusetts gun owners to keep their firearms locked away or rendered inoperable." There are "600 registered gun owners in [Swampscott]," and the selectman wants police to be able to drop in unannounced, enter the homes of each gun owner, and verify compliance. According to the Swampscott Patch, Greenfield has spoken with Swampscott Police Chief Ron Madigan about this issue, and has spoken with other selectmen. At least one of the selectmen-
ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Before Ted Cruz burst on the national political scene, there was Sarah Palin. After Ted Cruz, is there still much of a place for her? Sarah Palin, 49, is the original hero of the Tea Party, rallier of the right wing and basher of Barack Obama. But it has been five years since she gained a place in the history books as John McCain´s surprise choice of running mate on the Republican presidential ticket. Four years since she unexpectedly resigned as Alaska governor before her term was up. Two years since she bypassed the chance to jump into the
