TSA agent tells teen to ´cover herself´
The Hill, by Keith Laing

Original Article

Posted By:M2, 6/17/2013 4:38:22 PM

A Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent allegedly told a 15-year-old girl at Los Angeles International Airport to "cover herself" before she boarded her flight. The girl´s father, BoingBoing.com website editor Mark Frauenfelder, posted an article about the exchange on Sunday evening. In it, Frauenfelder alleges that the TSA agent "humiliated and shamed my 15-year-old daughter."

Comments:
I saw the photo of his daughter on the father´s website. Her abdomen is partially bare and her blouse is low cut. This may be fine for a fifteen year old in today´s culturally rotted world, so I consider the TSA agent something of a minor hero. If the parents won´t ride herd on kids whose bodies are up for grabs and leers, someone should. I´ve seen worse but still, one wonders what she is selling that the father has no problems with.

These parents let their daughters dress like street walkers. Then they wonder why they are treated like a street walker. Must have something to do with reproductive rights or something. Liberals will be the death of the country.

Not typical mid-teen dress 30 years ago. For today, it is entirely normal for a fifteen yo to be dressed that way. I see HS girls walking home from school that are dressed more provocatively and revealing than that. If their HS allows it, why should the TSA mind?

You, as an individual, have every right to decide that a stranger´s clothes are tacky, cheap, or too revealing.

The government does not -- especially when the face of that government is a federal official with the power to decide whether or not we will be allowed to board a plane or go to jail.

TSA officials are not the fashion police.

Many posters have missed the point. The TSA goons are not paid to judge what passengers are wearing: they´re paid to stand around and abuse people.

This has nothing to do with airport security and everything to with the possibility of a Muslim at the gate. That´s serious.

Note how these teenage girls are all great believers in female equality but not when it comes to what they wear. Their dress standards are significantly less modest than teenage boys - I don´t see ordinary teenage boys wearing tops that show off half of their abdomen as they walk down the street, or wearing shorts that end around the crotch area.

The sad thing is that women - not men - have been increasingly sexualized over the years, and it´s evident in the clothing that the shops sell to them. There is a huge culture of encouraging women - not men - to behave as sex objects. Liberalism is about using women as the movable object in the culture war, and that is why this sexualisation is concentrated on women.

As for the TSA agent, he´s entitled to his opinion in my view.

Is it really the TSA´s job description to tell people how to dress now? Is the TSA now the Taliban of the USA? What next? Ladies cover your head. Ladies cover your face. Ladies cover yourself from head to toe. Police State! Yeah, the girl may be dressed like a trashy street walker, but it isn´t the TSA´s business is it?

Keep in mind that some airlines have a dress code and the stewardess´ on the flight might have had them cover up before boarding or departing the gate. The TSA agent may have been doing them a favor. The parents sure weren´t.

President Obama’s Internal Revenue Service today quietly released a series of Obamacare “Health Care Tax Tips” warning Americans that they must obtain “qualifying” health insurance – as defined by the federal government – or face a “shared responsibility payment” when filing their tax returns in 2015. The term “shared responsibility payment” refers to the Obamacare individual mandate tax, one of at least seven tax hikes in the healthcare law that directly hit families making less than $250,000 per year.

Interrupting their vacation on Thursday, two Democrats -- Sen. Jack Reed of R.I. and Rep. It´s become a hallmark of Barack Obama´s presidency that mistakes made by policy makers, businesses, and governments at all levels must be paid for by American taxpayers. This perverse bailout culture is again evident in ObamaCare, which we now know contains a little-known provision that grants the administration a blank check for a taxpayer-funded bailout of insurance companies when ObamaCare fails. When President Obama recently announced his unilateral order to allow health insurers to ignore ObamaCare´s mandates and regulations and keep offering health plans that people wanted to keep, it exposed another fundamental problem in the law which puts American
