At a Thursday press conference, House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi condemned a bill that would prohibit abortions during the final four months of pregnancy with exceptions for when the life or physical health of the mother was at stake. Asked what the moral difference is between what Dr. Kermit Gosnell did to babies born alive and aborting those same infants moments before birth, Pelosi refused to answer. "As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this," Pelosi said. "This shouldn´t have anything to do with politics."
Pelosi worships at the altar of Satan. Time for Pope Francis to walk the walk, and excommunicate Catholics in Public office that support abortion. There is a disconnect between Pelosi and her ilk who brag about being Catholic, and those who are gainst abortion and are Catholic. I don´t think I can even identify with being a Catholic in 2013. I will not be part of a church that preaches one thing, but keeps silent as babies are killed and does nothing to punish those who break church law.
The Catholic Church has been far from silent on abortion. In my diocese the diocesan paper has been doing investigative journalism on an abortion clinic and the state inspectors.
As for excommunication- Pelosi, Sebelius and others of their ilk would already be made to feel unwelcome in a great many Catholic Churches across America. All that making it official would do is cause the mainstream media to have a field day about intolerance and their imagined war against women.
Pelosi is the poster child for all those who claim to be followers of the tenets of Christianity, yet twist and distort the Law to suit their own personal version of what it "should" be. There will be a reckoning day for Ms. Pelosi and all the others who have easily fallen for the tricks of the Father of Lies. "In which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience. Ephesians 2:2
"As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this," Pelosi said.
When oh when will the RC church get rid of this "practicing and respectful Catholic"? She is a scandal to the faith. She divids the faithful. She is a liar. She loves aborting children. She slaps the face of God. Sticks her tongue out at Jesus. Oh.Well.
According to her religion this one here is off to hell anyway. ...let her blather..... but know that abortions since 1973 among the African-American poulation far exceed in 40 yrs the entire count of those poor souls captured by their own and sold to the traders on the Middle Passge in 250 yrs of slave trading. She should be excommunicated, (along with Biden)...and jailed for her crimes.
I will never understand their need to worship at the alter of abortion. If I didn´t know better I would believe that someone had stuck scissors in pelosi´s skull and sucked her brains out because she talks like an idiot.
Here are some babykiller Catholic legislators, all democrats. Bobby Casey, Jr., Governor Andrew Cuomo, Barbara Mikulski, Dick Durbin, Patrick Leahy.... It is time for Pope Francis to stop those people from receiving Holy Communion. As a divorced Catholic, I was banned from the communion rail, and I accepted that. Now I want my former Church to be consistent.
I think she needs a copy of Roget´s Thesaurus or just a good old Webster´s Dictionary. How can anyone keep saying such ignorant statements and keep their job? Are the "folks" in SF illiterate are just full of the liberal Kool-Aid?
One World Trade Center has set its sights on being not just America´s tallest building, but the most photographed as well. The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey is holding a photography contest for the monumental 1,776-foot-tall skyscraper that will give three lucky winners an exclusive trip to the top. Photographers behind the three most ´liked´ photos posted to the WTC Progress Facebook page from now until Aug. 25 will be given a sneak peak tour of the "jewel of New York´s skyline" as early as a year and a half before it opens to the public.
Somebody deserves an Oscar for special effects. A crafty trio of black robbers bought amazingly lifelike disguises from a Hollywood special-effects firm to transform themselves into white guys for a brazen Queens heist — and their get-ups were so good, their victims had no clue they were in masks. The Brooklyn federal court trial of Akeem Monsalvatge, Derrick Dunkley and Edward Byam opened yesterday with witnesses describing how they were completely fooled. The perps spent two painstaking months plotting their $200,000 stickup of a Queens check-cashing store last year — and theorized that switching races would help them avoid detection,
Yesterday saw two ridiculous claims accepted by leftists in government and media, backed by purported "studies." President Obama claimed that the Keystone XL Pipeline would produce on 50 jobs. And he has doubled down despite criticism even from usually friendly "fact-checkers." Meanwhile, liberals in the left wing media, led by the HuffPo, are citing a "study" claiming that doubling the wages of McDonald´s workers would only result in a 17% price rise: "Doubling McDonald´s Salaries Would Cause Your Big Mac To Cost Just 68¢ More: Study" headlined the story by Christine Fairchild, citing a study by someone
[Photo] From Bill Cosby’s lips to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s ears. Following this morning’s huddle with party lawmakers, Pelosi plans to surprise President Barack Obama with an early birthday gift: a cake smothered in her favorite treat, dark chocolate. 44 will turn 52 on Sunday. Mind you, POTUS appears to be more of a meat eater than a sweets fiend. [Video]
House Democratic leaders were upbeat following a meeting Wednesday morning with President Obama, characterizing the session as a productive discussion on a number of fronts. [Video] “We had a very enthusiastic meeting,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told reporters. Obama met with House Democrats and will meet with Senate Democrats later Wednesday. Democratic leaders characterized as meaningful a wide-ranging discussion, which included voting rights, the implementation of the federal health-care law, the nation’s economy, immigration, and the upcoming battle over the nation’s debt limit.
Sen. John McCain — a Democrat? There was confusion Wednesday after the Arizona Republican mistakenly strolled into President Obama’s meeting with Senate Democrats at the Capitol. The room full of Democrats — who happened to be meeting in the same room where the Senate GOP usually holds their weekly policy luncheons — erupted in applause and laughter as the former Republican presidential candidate made his entrance. As McCain, 76, walked out of the Dem-filled space, reporters pressed him as to why he stepped foot in the room.
A former University of Northern Colorado basketball coach is the man calling himself an “Islamist jihadist” and threatening the demise of Mormons and Catholics at sites across Arizona and Colorado, authorities said Tuesday. Before being spotted by police in Steamboat Springs last week, Christopher Dewitt Craig reportedly made a stop at Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, Ariz. A spokesman for the institution said he didn’t believe Craig has ties there. On July 10, Craig, 32, reportedly entered a classroom at the college, raised a Bible in the air, asked the instructor whether he was Mormon and followed his response
Wednesday morning the Bureau of Economic Analysis released its Gross Domestic Product estimate for the second quarter of 2013. Though it will surely be revised up or down in the coming months, the number is 1.7%. In the first quarter of this year the GDP was 1.1%, revised down from initial estimates that were as high as 2.5%. The last quarter of 2012 saw the GDP grow only 0.1%. The result of today´s GDP announcement has resulted in almost uniformly positive headlines. Business Insider went with all caps: GDP CRUSHES EXPECTATIONS.
WASHINGTON- Scattered news reports say some restaurants are cutting employee hours or not hiring because of healthcare reform, but U.S. officials say it´s not true. "It turns out restaurants aren´t limiting hours on average -- they´re increasing them and restaurants are hiring at a faster pace than expected. All of which to say that the Affordable Care Act isn´t restraining job growth for restaurants at all," a statement by the White House said. A White House analysis of the relationship between the Affordable Care Act and job growth on Tumblr: -- http://whitehouse.tumblr.com/post/56825323234/your-daily-wonk-despite-claims-to-the-contrary -- said restaurants have had
The Obama administration’s interference in Texas’ redistricting and voter-ID litigation does not protect voting rights. It protects the Democratic Party. Recall that just a few months ago, high-ranking Obama operatives launched a campaign to “turn Texas blue.” The administration’s foray into Texas voting rights litigation is just another page in that political playbook. In redistricting, the Obama administration has aligned itself with Democratic state representatives and Democratic members of Congress who already are suing Texas. It is no surprise then that the legal position of President Obama’s attorneys seeks to improve Democratic candidates’ prospects.
A general examination to test eighth grade students in Kentucky´s Bullitt County school system in 1912 has stumped some adults and ignited a debate over the intelligence of children today. The arithmetic, geography, civil government, physiology, grammar and history questions range from ´What is a personal pronoun?´ to ´Who first discovered Lawrence River?´ and ´Define Cerebrum´. Posted on Lew Rockwell, the type-written test has promoted some adults to try and answer the questions, and caused some parents to critique the U.S. school system.
Huma Abedin, the Hillary Clinton loyalist and wife of embattled New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner, will reportedly take an "extended vacation" from her job as the chief of staff of Hillary Clinton´s transition team. Politico reports the move is not a formal "leave of absence." “Huma is not taking a leave of absence, but she will be taking vacation time in August to support her family during Anthony’s campaign," a Weiner campaign source told Politico. “She had always intended to do this.” According to Politico, "it was a loose plan she’d had for weeks, since Hillary Clinton
Conservative bloggers went wild Monday when they got wind of the Congressional Black Caucus’ suggestion that President Obama pick Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston for the post of Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Rich Cooper, avid blogger for Security Debrief, responded to the news of the Jackson Lee recommendation in a post by saying, “Apparently, it is not a joke. For reasons that baffle any sense of reality, it is a serious gesture on the part of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) to encourage President Obama to nominate Rep. Jackson Lee
There have been days since her son Ezekiel was born 11 months ago that Los Angeles mom Beth Capper has gone without food to keep up her supply. One friend was arrested for stealing some. It´s not drugs or alcohol or even baby formula that has put her in such a bind. It´s diapers. "There´s no way around buying them," said Capper, a 41-year-old single mother who doesn´t work because of a disability. Across the country, mothers like Capper are facing the same predicament. According to a report published Monday in the
America is in great shape energy-wise. We have more gas and oil reserves than ever before. Indeed, the United States could shortly become the world’s largest exporter of coal. Our cheaper power rates may bring energy-intensive industry back from Europe and Asia. If America’s small colleges are nearly broke and our public schools failing, nonetheless our blue-chip universities’ math, science, and engineering departments, and professional schools, remain the best in the world. It is a small Alaskan village whose inhabitants have relied on the sea for countless generations. But within a decade, it is expected that the ocean which the village of Kivalina has so relied on will completely destroy it--creating America´s first climate change refugees. Temperatures in the Arctic region of Alaska are warming twice as fast as the rest of the U.S, causing ice to retreat, sea levels to rise and coastal erosion to increase. Gotta figure her lead would be even bigger without Joe Miller in the field here. Her nomination for the taking? Alaska should be a top tier pick up opportunity for Senate Republicans next year…but their top choice of a candidate is Sarah Palin. 36% of GOP primary voters in the state say they’d like Palin to be their standard bearer against Mark Begich to 26% for Mead Treadwell, 15% for Dan Sullivan, and 12% for Joe Miller.
In an interview on National Public Radio (NPR), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said her new agenda for women will give mothers access to day care so they can “earn without carrying the burden of child care.” During the interview, aired on Weekend Edition Sunday, Pelosi spoke about her newly announced agenda, which is on her website, and is titled, “When Women Succeed, America Succeeds: An Economic Agenda for Women and Families,” a plan that includes universal pre-school and access to day care for working women, and an increase in the minimum wage.
Many low-income families receive government assistance to help them purchase food and housing. Diapers are another story, a new study suggests. In what they are calling the first peer-reviewed study to quantify diaper need, Yale University researchers have found nearly a third of mothers cannot afford to purchase their infants diapers, raising health risks for not only babies but for moms who become stressed over the finances. "Notably absent from the antipoverty efforts targeting families is an essential staple for the health of children, diapers," wrote the researchers, led by Dr. Megan Smith,
Mideast: The sequester has "cost jobs," says President Obama, and "gutted investments in education and science and medical research." But somehow he´s earmarked $500 million for Hamas terrorists. Circumventing Congress and with no fanfare, President Obama last week issued an executive order enabling him to send an additional $500 million directly to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank — much of which you can bet will wind up going to the Iranian-backed Hamas terrorist organization. According to Obama, "it is important to the national security interests of the United States to waive the provisions of" Congress´ legislative restrictions "in
The mother of Trayvon Martin said Monday that she believed Florida’s Stand Your Ground law played a role in her son’s shooting death, but she wasn’t ready to support a boycott of the state for not changing the self-defense law. “The thing about this law is I just think it assisted the person who killed my son to get away with murder,” Sybrina Fulton, the mother of the 17-year-old from Miami Gardens, said at a National Bar Association event in Miami Beach. “I think we have to change these laws so people don’t get
A group of experts advising the nation’s premier cancer research institution has recommended sweeping changes in the approach to cancer detection and treatment, including changes in the very definition of cancer and eliminating the word entirely from some common diagnoses. (Snip) The group, which includes some of the top scientists in cancer research, also suggested that many lesions detected during breast, prostate, thyroid, lung and other cancer screenings should not be called cancer at all but should instead be reclassified as IDLE conditions, which stands for “indolent lesions of
Karl Rove and more than one hundred Republican donors sent a letter to Republican members of Congress on Tuesday, urging them to pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill that would include, among other provisions, granting "legal status" to illegal aliens who meet certain criteria. Anticipating that lawmakers will face resistance to the bill when they go home for the August recess, the letter marks the escalation of a campaign in which Republican leaders and donors are pressuring House Republicans to act on an immigration reform bill.
President Obama has been rolling up his sleeves campaigning across the country delivering a surreal stump speech message supposedly aimed at the middle class: big government works, Obamacare is manna from heaven, the wave of recent scandals are “phony” figments of the imagination, and all economic problems are the fault of the Republicans. Conveniently, he leaves out the bankruptcy of Detroit, a city run by his own party for more than half a century. His message is so stale and unconvincing, that even The New York Times and Washington Post have noticed. Both papers, usually loyal to Obama, remarked that
