Democrats vow they won´t be caught flat-footed when the co-author of the State Department´s independent audit on Benghazi appears for a closed-door interview with congressional investigators next month. Retired Ambassador Thomas Pickering has agreed to be deposed by Rep. Darrell Issa´s (R-Calif.) Oversight panel on June 3 after being threatened with a subpoena. Democrats say they´re wary of a trap, and want to be able to counter what they say is Issa´s habit of leaking “cherry-picked” portions of witnesses´ testimonies to the press.
All the stories about the press finally coming around? Um, not so much. Issa is the new Ken Starr as is anyone who brings to light facts and truth about anything, not just Benghazi. The MSM´s Holy Temple of Me is threatened, so truth will become yet another Mark Fuhrman trial. And the GOP, since November, 1995, will walk right into it all, and bravely fall down, roll over and soil themselves with furrowed brows and LOTS of Depends. The same rerun played over, and over, and over, and over... Gosh, how do I know this?
All of these investigations are just a show. High drama. Nothing will be done. Nobody will be held accountable. There may be a few token resignations but no jail time. Obama and Holder won´t be touched. The repubs will act as if they have really accomplished something and the dems will steal the next election too.
A few days ago, when I suggested that the work of Lois Lerner and all the other gals in the president´s stable qualified him as one of the most successful pimps of all time, I certainly did not mean to slight the well run bordello at our State Department. The recent tricks turned by Mr. Pickering and Adm. Muller show Hillary has earned the right to be addressed as "Madam" Secretary.
First of all, let me say I´m not a pessimist, but instead a realist. Nobody is going to get to the bottom of this. The ´authorities´ in the Benghazi case, IRS, and Justice Dept. will stall, stall, and stall until Republicans lose interest, followed by the public losing interest. Just saying.
"Let´s rock, everybody, let´s rock...Everybody in the the whole cell block...was dancin´ to the Jailhouse Rock."
Since the beginning of recorded history, The Dark Side´s "modus operandi" has been lying, cheating and stealing...It´s time for the Republicans in The 113th United States Congress to finally wake up, smell the sulfuric acid and get serious!

Obama has decreed the next year-and-a-half as his Regain the House mission. He´s been at it since before he was re-imaculated in January and will spend all his time until the 2014s working to make Republicans as awful as possible.
And when his statist House stable is full of jackasses, then Benghazi, the AP/James Rosen mess, F&F, and everything else will be effectively found ´no there there´. Done. Over with. And gone.
Just like the War on Terror has been decreed over and al qaeda declared vanquished.
Issa has a lot of work to do, in a very short time.
And just where is the PIAPS for the last 2 months? How is she able to just drop off the radar like this? Even a lofo should be curious---does she have a terminal illness? Need more work done on those cheek implants? Has Bill become unzipped again? Is Chelsea preggers & needs home-baked cookies? Is Hillary busy bubble-wrapping precious accessories for Chells´ upcoming move into that new $10M Manhattan apartment? No commencement speeches? Just gone? Poof! And not a single journalista wonders if she´s OK?
A lot of liberals are seeing through the veil. The IRS scandal has had an effect. They are feeling the pain, so to speak, of something like that happening to them. They don´t like it. The truth of Obama was somewhat exposed to them.
This will help down the road if it is used wisely.
"Democrats say that hasn´t stopped Issa from leaking a constant drip-drip of damaging allegations about Benghazi over the past few weeks. These include the revelation that the Obama administration ordered a special forces team in Tripoli to stand down before the attack was over.
Just read that paragraph. "Revelations" about what happened characterized as "damaging allegations." If it is a revelation it is truth. if it is an allegation it remains to be proven. One has to read carefully, but these blatant attempts to use language to bias, rather than get at the truth is a Libtard hallmark.
Issa bobs and weaves, and has no explanation for his failure to effectively get to the bottom of this debacle. He presided over the shameful Hillary lovefest. Gowdy is a bulldog. Let him off the leash.
Nobody died in Watergate. Hillary said that the Coptic Christian man who made that silly anti-Islam video will stay in jail for as long, long time. That reminds me of Stalin´s Soviet Union. No muslim ever saw that silly video and the video did not start the riots. They were planned Al Qudea Operations. Barry and Hillary did not send help because perhaps Hillary was drunk and Barry was having fun at a gay Chicago party with his gay Chicago friends. Maybe Obama and Hillary did not send help because they did not want to upset their Libyan terrorist pals, and they did not care if four brave Americans died in Benghazi.
FTA: “If it´s true to form, if it´s a closed deposition, his staff [will] cherry pick content and leak it once again to the press that´s only too willing to print it,” panel member Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) told The Hill. “It might be grossly inaccurate. In fact, it may be the opposite of what´s being asserted. But by the time somebody gets around to reporting that – if they ever do – the damage is done.”
The hypocrisy of this statement is breathtaking. The accusations are right out of the Democrat playbook. How frightening it must be to have their own tactics used against them.
If Connolly had the courage to look in a mirror, he would see an image the like of Dorian Gray.
The coverage aby the press looks "assigned" to me. As in Ok you NYT take the criticism this weekend andthe ap wil cover thenextm we will fill in wioth the Politco and HuffPo and so forth until we havesuckedall the air out of the conservative internet and radio." This way in 18 months they can point to these groups of stories and say, "see we were up on top of it and it went nowhere." and "it was all a republican scam to tear down the irst black President anyway" Then all googlereferenes will have thee stories as the top 18 search results and it will become "Benghazi?" Wasn´t t that a Rommel vitory? In WWII?
Issa is fine. Not sure who the naysayers are. Lots of new names show up; only a few old timers. We must consider the presence of trolls.
That said, here is a great example of Issa´s ability to cut through the Dem´s bee-ess:
Democrats acknowledge that they were present last month when the committee conducted its transcribed interview with the Number 2 diplomat in Libya at the time of the attack, Gregory Hicks. But they say they were never invited to speak to another key witness in the panel´s hearing with self-described State Department whistle-blowers.
Democrats say they should have been given a chance to interview Mark Thompson, the State Department´s acting deputy assistant secretary for counterterrorism, ahead of the May 8 hearing. They say his Republican attorney, Joseph diGenova, shielded him from Democrats.
Issa strongly denied interfering during the hearing.
“Mr. Thompson, is it your decision who you talk to?” he asked. “And did any of my people ever tell you not to talk to the Democratic minority?”
At least Issa is doing something. When so called conservatives like Limbaugh trash him and provide the left with talking points , makes you wonder what side they´re actually on. This is how Limbaugh described Congressman Issa last Wed after Lerner gave an opening statement and then took the Fifth. " He looked clueless, like didn’t know what was going on, didn’t know how to deal with this ". Conducting a thorough investigation is not like CSI and the many tv shows Limbaugh wastes time watching . Issa has to fight not just the crooks in the Obama Administration, but, the clueless loudmouths on the right.
The Obama administration’s interference in Texas’ redistricting and voter-ID litigation does not protect voting rights. It protects the Democratic Party. Recall that just a few months ago, high-ranking Obama operatives launched a campaign to “turn Texas blue.” The administration’s foray into Texas voting rights litigation is just another page in that political playbook. In redistricting, the Obama administration has aligned itself with Democratic state representatives and Democratic members of Congress who already are suing Texas. It is no surprise then that the legal position of President Obama’s attorneys seeks to improve Democratic candidates’ prospects.
A general examination to test eighth grade students in Kentucky´s Bullitt County school system in 1912 has stumped some adults and ignited a debate over the intelligence of children today. The arithmetic, geography, civil government, physiology, grammar and history questions range from ´What is a personal pronoun?´ to ´Who first discovered Lawrence River?´ and ´Define Cerebrum´. Posted on Lew Rockwell, the type-written test has promoted some adults to try and answer the questions, and caused some parents to critique the U.S. school system.
Huma Abedin, the Hillary Clinton loyalist and wife of embattled New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner, will reportedly take an "extended vacation" from her job as the chief of staff of Hillary Clinton´s transition team. Politico reports the move is not a formal "leave of absence." “Huma is not taking a leave of absence, but she will be taking vacation time in August to support her family during Anthony’s campaign," a Weiner campaign source told Politico. “She had always intended to do this.” According to Politico, "it was a loose plan she’d had for weeks, since Hillary Clinton
The top state lawmakers in Illinois are suing Gov. Pat Quinn after he halted the salaries of legislators because of their failure to find a solution to the state´s $100 billion pension crisis. House Speaker Michael Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton, both Democrats, filed the 12-page complaint with the Circuit Court of Cook County Tuesday, calling Quinn´s actions "purely political and unconstitutional." "This matter is of fundamental constitutional importance, as Governor Quinn´s action threatens the independence of each branch of government," Cullerton and Madigan said in a joint news release. "The Illinois Constitution protects the salaries of members
After a long three-year gap since their last exclusive sit-down interview with President Obama, you might think The New York Times would be ready to ask tough questions on the most contentious issues of the day, beginning with the deepening Obama scandals. Wrong. Instead, the Times defined the “news” in this interview to be Obama’s counter-attacks. Their stories focused on Obama’s accusations that (a) the Republicans are liars about Obamacare, (b) the Republicans exaggerate the benefits of building the Keystone XL pipeline, and (c) the Republicans oppose his use of executive power because he has the gall
WASHINGTON — Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham and John McCain have been asked by President Barack Obama to travel to Egypt next week to urge the military to move ahead on new elections, the senators said Tuesday. Egypt has been roiled by deadly protests since President Mohammed Morsi was toppled in a military coup on July 3, developments that have threatened the $1.5 billion in annual U.S. military and economic aid to the Arab world´s most populous country. Responding to reporters´ questions Tuesday about an attempt to cut off the aid, Graham offered up word that Obama has sought the help
The Guardian journalist Glenn Greenwald, the reporter who broke the details revealed by National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden regarding that agency’s information gathering and warehousing practices, was scheduled to testify about those programs before members of Congress. On Tuesday, Greenwald revealed that this informal hearing, organized by Reps. Justin Amash (R-MI) and Alan Grayson (D-FL), has been cancelled. Greenwald, who would have testified via satellite from his residence in Brazil, was going to share his knowledge of the NSA’s surveillance programs before an informal gathering of members of Congress.
WASHINGTON- "Ready for Hillary," a Super PAC backed by Democratic heavyweights, has raised $1 million more than three years before the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has not said she will be running for president, Politico reported. But she is also clearly keeping her options open. Former U.S. Rep. Ellen Tauschner, D-Calif., who has also served in the State Department, is an adviser to the PAC. She said the PAC´s donors are sending a message that Clinton is the one to beat in 2016. "Being a voter is not a passive sport," Tauscher said.
Glendale city officials on Tuesday were resolute in their decision to install a 1,100-pound metal statue at Central Park memorializing Asian women and girls who were held as sex slaves by the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II. Before a standing-room-only crowd of about 300 people, officials hailed the monument to so-called comfort women as a lasting testament to the pain and suffering endured by an estimated 200,000 sex slaves from Korea, China, Indonesia and other occupied countries during the war, the Glendale News-Press reported. “The Glendale City Council took a bold step.
WASHINGTON- The oldest former U.S. senator, Harry Byrd Jr., whose family had deep ties to newspaper publishing in his home state of Virginia, died on Tuesday at age 98. Byrd died at his home in Winchester, according to an obituary in the Winchester Star newspaper, which is now run by his son. Byrd, a conservative Democrat who entered Congress in 1965 to fill the Senate seat his father had held for more than three decades, later won re-election as an independent after breaking with the Democratic Party. He retired from Congress in 1983. "A chapter of our history has concluded,"
More than 5,000 weapons collected in various buyback programs were melted down into steel rebar Tuesday morning, authorities said. Officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff´s Department and the Santa Monica, Inglewood and Culver City police departments oversaw the 20th annual "gun melt" at Gerdau Steel Mill in Rancho Cucamonga, the sheriff´s department announced. The mill annually donates its furnace and workers for the event, the department said. The sheriff´s department´s buyback program -- which offers grocery store gift cards in exchange for weapons -- began in Compton in 2005. Now several municipalities offer such events throughout the year.
It may not look particularly attractive, but as just $1 this family home is a complete bargain. However, despite being on the market for the drop-down price since February last year, the Detroit property is astonishingly still for sale. It is one of a number of run-down properties lying in the suburbs of Michigan´s largest city, which earlier this month filed for bankruptcy, crippled by enormous debts. Built in 1915, the property on Saint-Clair Street has been listed for sale since May 2011. After initially being placed on the market for $900,
There have been days since her son Ezekiel was born 11 months ago that Los Angeles mom Beth Capper has gone without food to keep up her supply. One friend was arrested for stealing some. It´s not drugs or alcohol or even baby formula that has put her in such a bind. It´s diapers. "There´s no way around buying them," said Capper, a 41-year-old single mother who doesn´t work because of a disability. Across the country, mothers like Capper are facing the same predicament. According to a report published Monday in the
Conservative bloggers went wild Monday when they got wind of the Congressional Black Caucus’ suggestion that President Obama pick Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston for the post of Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Rich Cooper, avid blogger for Security Debrief, responded to the news of the Jackson Lee recommendation in a post by saying, “Apparently, it is not a joke. For reasons that baffle any sense of reality, it is a serious gesture on the part of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) to encourage President Obama to nominate Rep. Jackson Lee

But within a decade, it is expected that the ocean which the village of Kivalina has so relied on will completely destroy it--creating America´s first climate change refugees. America is in great shape energy-wise. We have more gas and oil reserves than ever before. Indeed, the United States could shortly become the world’s largest exporter of coal. Our cheaper power rates may bring energy-intensive industry back from Europe and Asia. If America’s small colleges are nearly broke and our public schools failing, nonetheless our blue-chip universities’ math, science, and engineering departments, and professional schools, remain the best in the world. A year after resigning from congress over his first sexting scandal, Anthony Weiner claimed that he was a mellowed out new father working every day to be a better husband by doing chores around the house. "Every day since this has happened, I´ve tried to become a better person, a husband that Huma deserves and as good a father as I can be," Weiner told People Magazine in outtakes released Sunday from his now infamous July 18, 2012 interview. "I´ve explored every way to try to do those things and I´m committed to continuing on that path."
Anthony Weiner may have violated federal law when he failed to disclose his lavish six-figure wedding in his financial disclosure forms, says a government accountability group. Ethics watchdog group National Legal and Policy Center examined the federal Financial Disclosure Reports for both Weiner and long-suffering wife Huma Abedin for 2010, the year of their wedding. The cost for the ceremony was at least $100,000 but probably ran closer to $250,000 including all
Many low-income families receive government assistance to help them purchase food and housing. Diapers are another story, a new study suggests. In what they are calling the first peer-reviewed study to quantify diaper need, Yale University researchers have found nearly a third of mothers cannot afford to purchase their infants diapers, raising health risks for not only babies but for moms who become stressed over the finances. "Notably absent from the antipoverty efforts targeting families is an essential staple for the health of children, diapers," wrote the researchers, led by Dr. Megan Smith,
In an interview on National Public Radio (NPR), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said her new agenda for women will give mothers access to day care so they can “earn without carrying the burden of child care.” During the interview, aired on Weekend Edition Sunday, Pelosi spoke about her newly announced agenda, which is on her website, and is titled, “When Women Succeed, America Succeeds: An Economic Agenda for Women and Families,” a plan that includes universal pre-school and access to day care for working women, and an increase in the minimum wage.
Mideast: The sequester has "cost jobs," says President Obama, and "gutted investments in education and science and medical research." But somehow he´s earmarked $500 million for Hamas terrorists. Circumventing Congress and with no fanfare, President Obama last week issued an executive order enabling him to send an additional $500 million directly to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank — much of which you can bet will wind up going to the Iranian-backed Hamas terrorist organization. According to Obama, "it is important to the national security interests of the United States to waive the provisions of" Congress´ legislative restrictions "in
The mother of Trayvon Martin said Monday that she believed Florida’s Stand Your Ground law played a role in her son’s shooting death, but she wasn’t ready to support a boycott of the state for not changing the self-defense law. “The thing about this law is I just think it assisted the person who killed my son to get away with murder,” Sybrina Fulton, the mother of the 17-year-old from Miami Gardens, said at a National Bar Association event in Miami Beach. “I think we have to change these laws so people don’t get
A group of experts advising the nation’s premier cancer research institution has recommended sweeping changes in the approach to cancer detection and treatment, including changes in the very definition of cancer and eliminating the word entirely from some common diagnoses. (Snip) The group, which includes some of the top scientists in cancer research, also suggested that many lesions detected during breast, prostate, thyroid, lung and other cancer screenings should not be called cancer at all but should instead be reclassified as IDLE conditions, which stands for “indolent lesions of
