Criminality Appears To Lie at the
Heart of the IRS Scandal

New York Sun, by Lawrence Kudlow

Original Article

Posted By:FlyRight, 5/23/2013 5:59:27 AM

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

Criminality. The chance Obama didn´t know about this is exactly 0. Since he did nothing to stop it before the November election, cannot we reasonably assume his complicity? Criminality.

Sometimes politics is very, very easy to understand.

Exactly #1, Obama may not be much at running a government but you can bet he is involved in all political calculations.

If America is to recover its freedoms, it is absolutely essential that the IRS be eliminated. Yes, not simply punished And controlled, but cease to exist.

Why? Because any agency that has the personal financial, and soon, health records of every citizen is too tempting a weapon for politicians to NOT use against their perceived enemies. And that is precisely the real core of these IDS scandals. Namely, that now seeing they controlled this powerful agency, Obama and the Democrats, just turned it loose like a pack of junkyard dogs on their enemies: Tea Party, pro-life Christians, etc. In DC, information is power. And IRS information is deadly force power.

So the solution isn´t to pass new laws to control it. With Obamacare looming, it will become even more deadly, and more tempting to use again. No, the answer is eliminate it altogether.

Flat tax. No deductions. No Obamacare authority. The end.

Pure Chicago-style politics with the blessing and support of the democrat party. The progressives have taken over that party which was evidenced by their convention in 2012. The heart and soul of the party, or lack thereof, was revealed when they actually "booed" God. Of course, we understand a crime was committed with the IRS targeting conservatives, but to the left it is merely a means to an end and justifiable. They had an election to win. With the IRS criminality and rampant election fraud perpetrated, Obama was a shoe in and he knew it.

IMO, Obama directed all of this in a way that´s consistent with his past Chicago style methods. He had only one concern...HIS reelection. He could care less about the fate of other Democrats in the upcoming midterms. As always, it´s all about ME, ME, ME. And I´m sure the Mooch played a big part in the push to make sure they had the opportunity to enjoy 4 more lavish years on our dime.

#5 I agree. Time to cut the cancer..separate the marrow from the bone so to speak. The bigger and more complicated an entity becomes the less transparent and more corrupt. The IRS needs to go. Like Sen Cruz..I don´t trust Republicans. Of course he meant the usual suspect. Notice how Graham is trying to look so tough about Benghazi? Must be smelling a primary challenge. Come on SC. If you get rid of Graham we will forgive Rep. Argentina.I would love to see SC give us another DeMint. Or better yet see DeMint return and run against Graham.

I watch Kudlow most evenings at 7. He seems to be the most honest forthright show host on television.

You see his conservative economic bent, but never a hint of guile or politics.
When Larry Kudlow says that IRS leadership has acted criminally, you can take it to the bank!

Finally.......Someone is picking up on what was really happening. This was about winning elections. This was about subverting the electoral process. This was about winning re-election to cement the democrat agenda.

This was about skirting the constitution and subverting the rule of law. This wasnt "just" some criminal activity. This was wholesale treason.

This was election fraud an such a breathtaking scale that it was unimaginable 4 years ago. Nine months ago, we were concerned with ballot stuffing and the dead voting. The democrats were light years ahead of us. On hindsight, the DOJ objecting to cleaning up voter rolls was a ruse.......a distraction. We republicans lacked the imagination to even suspect that Obama would pull off what he did.

Elimination of the IRS can be done only by reforming the tax system inside out. A flat tax of 12% with $8000 per person exemption (inflation adjusted) and a national Sales Tax of 5% will give the same results. Have the fifty State Tax Departments collect the Federal monies and remit it to the Treasury. End of story.

The problem with a flat tax is that you still need the IRS. They still need to know how much you make and how you made it. This gives them plenty of grounds to rummage through your underwear drawer. So long as there is a need for the government to know so much personal information, the same problem will come up again.

Instead we need a simple sales tax. Sorry that it tends to crunch the poorest the hardest (perhaps no tax at all on food and utilities?). A sales tax would completely eliminate the necessity for the government to know how much we make and how we made it. We wouldn´t need any exemptions or deductions or loopholes or tax lawyers.

Then we could put all those eager IRS employees on the border patrol...

Looks like WE have a Ma Barker (of the Barker Boys of the ole west) heading the IRS unit to deny the Tea Party tax exempt status. It seems Msssssssss. lerner was shipped in from the FederalElectionCommission gooooooberment unit where she was in charge of targeting Christian and Jewish groups....It seems "she" cost the groups hundred´s of thousands of dollar complying with voting regulations-- SHE deemed legal (actually nothing illegal was found -- but -- it cost a fortune to these groups defending themselves).

Sooooooo -- ole valjar of the Chicago mob -- hired her to do a "job" on the conservatives via the IRS scrutiny....

She´s the contractor that tried to kill the Tea Party..... It almost worked -- because the "won" won and she walks away with the money and a job well done for valjar and SOROS.

It´s worst than WE the people could have imagined... It´s why I´m trying to get out of Chicago. WE are under the boot of ranting rahm and madigan and cullerton here in Illinois. It´s a nightmare...

The determining of how much you made and whether all income is fairly reflected should be done by the fifty state tax departments as they do now. Under our Constitution only the States have the authority to deal directly with individual citizens. The States could tack on their own tax if their voters approve and collect 1% of the grand total collections as fees. That will give them plenty of incentive to be honest. Also under this scheme there is no corporate tax. Taxes are paid only by individuals.

Yes it´s criminal but in DC that means:
1. Retring on your lavish pension
2. Being "reassigned"
3. Being given "oral counseling"
4. Being given a time out
5. Being promoted
6. Being given a raise
7. Being "transferred"

Issa needs to combine tactics. Bring Lois Lerner back before the committee and let the wizened old shrew sit there while he reads the history of the whole sordid affair, with special attention paid to her misdeeds.

Let HIS version be deemed the truth. If she doesn´t want to participate, that´s her choice.

Well done #23. The tax code has been a mechanism for the destruction of our constitution for many decades and it´s high time to stop! For example the Federal government taxes the states then doles the money back out to those stares which follow their wishes. (Read 55 mph) No legislative process required. The total Federal control of wealth negates the rule of law making our rights a façade of freedom. Get pulled into court by an agency of the Federal government and you spend your wealth defending against a presumption of guilt.

The IRS is corrupt to its core. It needs to be dissolved.

Watching those bureaucratic clowns testify yesterday was almost laughable.
Shulman made 120 visits to the White House, but didn´t "recall" mentioning the numerous complaints about the targeting to anybody there?
When asked what was the reason for the visits, he said that once he was there with his kids for the Easter Egg Hunt!

Beyond farce.

Al Capone redux goes to DC. Where are the usual Luc naysayers today, like G2P and LL1, etc? Hmmm? Where´s the "this is going no where" mantra/tack? The pebble has begun to roll down the snowy mountain. One of the cronies is eventually going to finger Obama when they see prison time staring them in the face-count on it. They don´t want to end up like fresh fish on Shawshank: "I´m not supposed to be heuh, I´m not supposed to be heuh!".

The people in the IRS could very easily say they did nothing wrong. They are supposed to Be On The Lookout for suspected terrorist groups. DHS and DOD said the Tea Party/Conservative Groups are terrorists. The IRS was just doing their jobs.

The Dems have always been about "buy", "lie", and "deny". Their three-pronged approach: Buy the votes of parasites; have the media and academia lie to get the votes of morons and sheeple; then use the power of their offices to deny the rights of the opposition. It worked well before the age of the internet, but now it seems they´re stuck in an embarrassing and disgraceful rut and can´t get out.

It doesn´t matter what Obama knew. The Democrat party and the bureaucrats in the government have become a criminal enterprise conspiring in illegal and immoral ways to suppress the opposition. He is the leader of that enterprise. If he didn´t know what was going on then that only means he can´t control them. But his job IS to control them. If he can´t then he needs to resign and let someone who can be president.

Only a SALES TAX will get these people out of your world.

He didn´t keep records you see. Shulman was supposed to go through the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury but skirted him and went straight to the WH. Issa should zero in on this.

No. 35: I agree that the LoFos out there who do not even realize, much less care, what is happening to our American way of life, are what make all of this so very frightening. They will never become aware. Nothing outside of their Iphones, or SNAP benefits card, makes any impact upon them. I recently watched a very "erudite" theory on why the Zombie phenomenon is so prevalent among so many young Americans. The theory that perhaps those entralled with Zombies might actually BE mental zombies did not occur to the erudite talkig head. And that is not to say that all LoFos are young. LoFoism is an equal opportunity state of mind.

I disagree with the idea that criminality is at the heart. What´s at the heart is classic psychological projection. For years the liberals have characterized Republicans as everything bad from Hitler, Nazis, racists, thieves, murderers, to children starvers and in bed with the most conniving part of Wall Street. Most of this was rooted in very sleezy political assassinations. And Republicans just brushed it off as politics. But the brunt of Democrats now actually believe it all. And they believe that anything to defeat Hitler is OK. So when their own behavior is bad they don´t see it as bad as Republicans. Truth is, they are now as bad as everything they ever accused Republicans of being. And the most amazing thing is they are more in bed with Wall Street than the limousine Republicans ever were.

Lerner had to stop the Tea Party because they scared her. I have acquaintances who listen only to NPR and from what they heard made them actually frightened of the Tea Party just as Lerner was. But NPR had only told a false Democrat characterization of the Tea Party.

What actually scares me is when I study history I see that many of the most brutal and murderous regimes were ones who had convinced themselves that others were so bad they must be stopped at all costs. It appears that the Democrats and the MSM are approaching that level. And it deeply concerns me that they have my life in their hands with their control of my health care.

Hold on there, cowboy!Texas Monthly magazine sued the New York Times on Friday for poaching its editor. Jake Silverstein, who was hired away from the Emmis Communications title last month to become the new editor of the New York Times Magazine, was under contract at the regional monthly until the Times, “without legal justification or excuse,” caused him to breach that deal, the lawsuit claims. The six-page Texas state court action alleges that Times Executive Editor Jill Abramson started recruiting Silverstein in December 2012 — a full year before then-magazine editor Hugo Lindgren was ousted. New York - President Barack Obama is coming to New York City Friday to address the Rev. Al Sharpton‘s National Action Network. The visit comes days after revelations surfaced that Sharpton worked with the FBI. The topic also came up in a 2011 ’60 Minutes’ interview with Lesley Stahl weeks before the debut of “Politics Nation.”In outtakes posted from that interview, Stahl asked Sharpton if he was an FBI informant. The exchange got testy at times when Stahl continued to question Rev. Al about his “informant” role.Stahl: When you were in your 20s, you were an informant for the FBI.Sharpton: Sharpton: No, well it’s according to

First came the “polar vortex” — now it’s the “pollen vortex.”Forced to lie dormant by the long, brutal winter, trees are now set to start reproducing like crazy — and create a massive amount of pollen that could wallop your sinuses this weekend. Pollen count in the Northeast will soar to “high levels” Saturday and Sunday, when warm temperatures will prompt plants to create the sniffle-inducing substance, reports Pollen.com, which offers allergy “forecasts.” In New York City, where the temps could hit 70 degrees Saturday, allergy symptoms will “become more severe,” the site says. April is generally the worst month of allergy season,

President Obama stood Friday with the Rev. Al Sharpton and accused Republicans of trying to keep millions of Americans from voting, in a fiery speech days after new revelations about Sharpton’s past as an FBI informant. “The right to vote is threatened today in a way that it has not been since the Voting Rights Act became law nearly five decades ago,” Obama told the annual convention of Sharpton’s National Action Network in Manhattan. Obama’s appearance represented a presidential seal of approval of Sharpton’s role as a civil rights activist, amid the new revelations about how Sharpton used a wire to record

Two years before the Boston Marathon bombing, the Russian government concealed key information on one of the killers that might have thwarted the attack, a new report charges.Kremlin officials intercepted a phone conversation in which Tamerlan Tsarnaev discussed Islamic jihad with his mother, but they withheld the information from the FBI, according to the U.S. inspector general report that comes as the one-year anniversary of the bombing approaches. Had the FBI been privy to the red-flag phone call, it would have prompted the bureau to take an extensive look at Tsarnaev, according to The New York Times. “Had they known what the

President Barack Obama is planning to sign two new executive actions aimed at narrowing the wage gap between men and women Tuesday, even as the Obama White House pays its female staffers less than men.The first executive action will be an order banning federal contractors from retaliation against employees who disclose or ask about their wages, according to reports. His other executive action will require federal contractors to submit data to the government about their employees compensation by sex and race. Fears that high-speed traders have been rigging the U.S. stock market went mainstream last week thanks to allegations in a book by financial author Michael Lewis, but there may be a more serious threat to investors: the increasing amount of trading that happens outside of exchanges. Some former regulators and academics say so much trading is now happening away from exchanges that publicly quoted prices for stocks on exchanges may no longer properly reflect where the market is. And this problem could cost investors far more money than any shenanigans related to high frequency trading. When the average investor, or even

It’s good Gov. Cuomo understands New York has a problem with cigarette smuggling. Too bad he has yet to figure out what’s really driving the problem of illegal smokes: our high tobacco taxes.Just days after a key report found New York has the highest percentage of illegal cigarettes of any state, the governor announced the creation of a new “strike force” meant to crack down.Teams from 13 state, local and federal agencies, he said, are joining to stop “the influx of counterfeit and untaxed tobacco products into New York” and nab smugglers who “evade the law and rob the state

After his health-care law surpassed the low-ball enrollment target of 7 million, President Obama staged a Rose Garden rally and zinged doubters: “Armageddon has not arrived.” At least he did not declare: “Mission Accomplished.”The country is years from knowing whether Obama’s overhaul of the health-care system fulfills the promise of delivering universal coverage. While large numbers of Americans have found the program very advantageous, including people who were formerly uninsured, many others have been forced to change plans or change doctors — contrary to Obama’s repeated promises.Obama tacitly admits the unintended consequences every time he waives a deadline or mandate in

A triumphant President Barack Obama declared Tuesday his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better´ in a Rose Garden press conference. But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night.

The author of the Twilight of Abundance, David Archibald, sent an email a few days ago, saying “there is a whole new world coming.” Archibald, who’s an Australian, warns in his book that the world is running out of food, energy and security. Where he differs from Malthus, however, is in arguing that the shortages are the consequence of policy, rather than the inherent limitations of the universe. The world is doing everything it can to run in the opposite direction of abundance because we think we have too much. The West dreads warmer weather, even though warmer weather might

The Clinton Library took the wraps off another batch of White House documents Friday afternoon, offering new insights into how aides scrambled to address the Monica Lewinsky scandal, how the hot-button issue of race tied the White House staff up in knots and how former President Bill Clinton cast a wide net for advice in advance of his major speeches. The new set of Clinton documents make little mention of then-first lady Hillary Clinton, and so are unlikely to have a major political impact. However, many of the memos were written by or mention aides to Bill Clinton who now hold

Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

I live in Las Vegas. I live and breath Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren wrote in her forthcoming book that she was “hurt” and “angry” by 2012 reporting on her fraudulent claim to Native American heritage. “What really threw me, though, were the constant attacks from the other side,” Warren wrote in her book “A Fighting Chance.” “I would almost persuade myself that I was starting to get the hang of full-throttle campaigning and then — bam! Out of left field, the state Republican Party, or the Brown campaign, or some blogger, would launch a rocket at me,” Warren wrote, adding, ”I was stunned by the attacks.” This reporter (blogger?) reported extensively

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.

With Easter soon approaching, the Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday drew parallels between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of President Obama’s political career. Joining the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” Mr. Sharpton said that his message for this Easter is that “no matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.” The reverend went on to say that Christ endured so much humiliation and unearned suffering leading up to his death,

The cash infusion by the federal government is actually going to help the city pay pensions, even though they´re playing a kind of shell game with the money. As for "blight removal," perhaps they could start with city hall. Reuters: Michigan officials and President Barack Obama´s Administration are discussing a plan to free up $100 million in federal money to aid Detroit´s retired city workers, the Detroit Free Press reported on Tuesday. Citing two people familiar with the talks, the newspaper said the talks were centered around federal money flowing to Michigan for blight removal. Under the plan, $100 million
