Impeaching President
Obama is a waste of time

Washington Times, by Eric Golub

Original Article

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Several days ago some fringe “conservatives” mentioned the idea of impeaching President Obama. For reasons as obvious as they are numerous, that is a terrible idea. Saying that is like throwing chum out to the worst conservatives, the ones who act like liberals, the ones who are all angry instinct, who rather than strategize their way to victory would rather sweep the pieces off the table and throw a tantrum on the floor. Serious and effective conservatism demands putting facts and reason above emotion and hysteria. Some comments concerning potential impeachment are so

Comments:
He gives well reasoned arguments why this is a bad idea, as much as we would love for that to happen. The backlash would be a hundred times worse than what happened with Clinton because 0bama is their very special messiah. Of course the ultimate trump card is that he is black. I´m not sure I agree with his statement: "The day after the 2014 elections, he will be completely irrelevant and on his way out." 0bama may become irrelevant but the damage he will have done will be inconceivable and the Democrats will always worship him.

I agree. In fact, I think impeachment is kind of a pointless exercise now that we have term limits. The better way to go is to focus on the Congressional elections next year and try to take back the White House in 2016.

FTA: The day after the 2014 elections, he will be completely irrelevant and on his way out.

If the Democrats take it on the chin in the 2014 midterm elections, Golub´s assertion will be true. If the Republicans lose their majority in the House and fail to take back the Senate, it will be the nation that absorbs the knockout blow as Obama and the Democrat majority proceed on their path to enact the Left´s destructive legislative wish list, point for point. We´d need a generation or more to roll back that damage.

Although I agree with Golub´s conclusion that expending a lot of effort to impeach (and remove) Obama would not presently be wise political strategy (barring the proverbial smoking gun revelation that instantly destroys him politically), I do believe that politically neutering him and picking apart his leftist coalition on Capitol Hill and inside the bureaucracy is truly God´s work, and should be done with alacrity.

While Impeachment would never be successful in removing Obama from office because of the Reid run senate and the MSM, I do believe what Obama has done to this country does qualify as impeachable offenses.

What about Justice?

Should Justice bow to potential re-election problems? Or should it be served as an ideal central to the concept of the United States of America from the beginning?

Is America a third-world country or is America an example and a beacon for struggling nations on how living in peace and under just laws can actually be accomplished?

I do think it is prudent to wait until Justice can be served successfully ... i.e., until after the Congressional elections of 2014.

So...we have some guy going by the name Barack Hussein Obama II, formerly using the name Barry Soetoro, maybe even Harrison Bounel(sp?), with proven forgeries of his birth certificate and draft registration, using an SSI# of Connecticut origin originally issued to a French? Hungarian? immigrant who died in Hawaii in 1961, and no verifiable paper trail to research this pResident´s bona fides? I´m with #1 - arrest.

#7 - I keep coming back to one of my favorite comments of yours - which I have unabashedly used on other sites - Hempen Jig. There aren´t enough lamp posts in DC for these ´Dancing With the Stars´ voters to see their deserving ´stars´ in action, albeit briefly.

I will, however, admit that the time for removal, in our current political climate, is not yet, even though I firmly believe Barry the Fraud should never have been sworn in, and rightfully arrested before 1/20/2009, along with many, many others complicit in his election.

Whatever the constitutional language, it´s important to remember that impeachment is a political act, not a legal matter.

In politics, either the votes are there or they are not. In this case, the votes are not there in the Senate, so it would be the height of stupidity to impeach Obama. If the votes were there, the legalisms around "high crimes and misdemeanors" could be invented to go along with the votes. That´s the way it works.

It´s far more important to focus on winning the government back.

If you say, as to Clinton, that " The fix was in" and " the facts never mattered", that is exactly why you should proceed with the impeachment of any president, if so warranted.

To suggest that impeaching anyone is a waste of time assumes that one political party or another in the driver´s seat in the Senate will not do what is in the nation´s interest. Let the condemnation of history fall on the the spineless, corrupt, candiast political party who represents and defends the wrong doer, keeping in mind that "wrong doing" is terminally and irreparably to be condemned.

Which is a comment on how things should be done, and expresses no opinion as to the guilt or innocense of any person who might be impeached.

And that is all I have to say about that.

The fact is that we do not yet have all the facts. Indeed, we have only a few facts, preliminary facts, enough facts to warrant further investigation into a number of serious issues. It is therefore premature to talk of impeachment - but it is also premature to dismiss the possibility altogether. We simply do not know enough at this point.

I would not be surprised if further revelations are so damaging that the Obama presidency will be terminated de jure or de facto. Resignation is a possibility if matters are found to be as bad as some people think they are. Democrats are many things, but they are not indifferent to their own political survival. If the administration´s wounds turn out to be mortal and a source of mortal damage to the Democratic party, pressure will be applied on Obama to resign "for the good of the country." It has happened before.

But that, too, is speculation, indeed mere fantasy at this point. We are just are the very beginning of the various investigations. Who knows what will be found or how the administration will respond? Time will have to tell.

The technology is proposed as a ‘Plan B’ if Governments fail to cut carbon dioxide emissions by up to 70 per cent before 2050.
