Liberals Turn on Lois Lerner, IRS
Weekly Standard, by Daniel Halper

On Tuesday, liberal bloggers Josh Marshall of Talking Points Memo and Ezra Klein of the Washington Post attended a private meeting at the White House: Spotted: @joshtpm @capehartj @ezraklein & other lefty columnists headed into the West Wing as a group. POTUS coffee? Carney meeting? Anyone? — Ari Shapiro (@arishapiro) May 21, 2013 Allahpundit speculated that "tomorrow’s progressive damage-control groupthink is likely to be group-ier than usual." Sure enough, both Klein and Marshall published similar blog posts within 30 minutes of each other on Wednesday morning. Klein, who wrote last week that the "scandals are falling

Comments:
So all the little lefties go get their marching orders from the White House. Is this preparation for throwing Lois Lerner under the bus and let her take the fall for the regime?

So Lois Lerner is the designated fall guy.

If she´s smart, she´ll negotiate for immunity and tell everything she knows.

Obama is the one turning on Lerner. The liberals who are doing so are doing so only on his orders. Lerner is under the bus but she´ll lie there singing "lalala."

@#1: I would want to know e-x-a-c-t-l-y what Lois Lerner knows before I granted her immunity. However, she won`t talk until she gets it. Therein lies the rub. She may not say what we all want her to say. This is why we need a Special Prosecutor to sort out what is going on. If she broke laws then I`d prefer she be tried and leave it up to a jury of her peers.

The point was made this morning that the IRS employees belong to a union that will make firing difficult. Is that really true?

I know that the rank and file IRS employees belong to a union that makes it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to fire them. However, what I don´t know is if "higher up" management employees have this same union protection. In many government agencies (at least at the state level which I am familiar with) higher up management employees are "at will" and can be fired without cause.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is pushing back after data whiz Nate Silver projected Sunday that Republicans will win the Senate this year. In an interview with Jon Karl on ABC´s "This Week," Silver, who recently relaunched his FiveThirtyEight franchise, gave Republicans a 60-percent chance of winning a Senate majority during the 2014 midterm election cycle. But Democrats, who have in the past lauded Silver for his analysis of polls, on Monday were skeptical of his projection this time around. Nate Silver, the former New York Times statistician wunderkind who successfully predicted every state in the 2012 election and became something of an anti-anxiety pill for worried Democrats, now predicts that the GOP has a roughly 60% of retaking the Senate in the 2014 midterms. Silver, who just launched his own site, FiveThirtyEight, under the ESPN banner, spoke to ABC’s Jon Karl in a segment on This Week With George Stephanopoulos Sunday morning. There he said his best prediction saw the GOP taking six seats, the exact number they’d need to have a one-vote majority. However, that prediction was +/-
