Petraeus’s role in drafting Benghazi
talking points raises questions

Washington Post, by Scott Wilson and Karen DeYoung

The controversy over the Obama administration’s response to the Benghazi attack last year began at a meeting over coffee on Capitol Hill three days after the assault. It was at this informal session with the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence that the ranking Democrat asked David H. Petraeus, who was CIA director at the time, to ensure that committee members did not inadvertently disclose classified information when talking to the news media about the attack. “We had some new members on the committee, and we knew the press would be very aggressive on this, so we didn’t want

What a bunch of !!!! These two clowns at the Washington Post are accusing Petraeus of drafting the original talking points in a way that would present the CIA in a favorable light. Forget the fact that they represented the truth ! Then they say that the White House didn´t really have a role in shaping the changes in the talking points, they merely acted as a go-between in facilitating the various edits by State and CIA. There´s still lots of kool aid left to be guzzled out there. It´s going to be a long hot summer.

The journ-0-leestas were summoned to the White House this morning. Was it just coffee in the West Wing or could some talking points have been distributed. I can hardly believe the most ethical WH ever would do that.

This article has been cut and spliced to clear the White House. The talking points most specifically did not find that the attack on Benghazi resulted from a spontaneous demonstration against a video. It is absurd to declare that the White House was the only group disturbed by the honesty of the initial version of the talking points.

So, the washing machine is on SPIN cycle again. Carney cannot keep his stories straight so he has requested help on Benghazi. The IRS spin Carney puts out changes each time he opens his mouth. The knee-pad wearers to the rescue, once again!

So we now know that Hillary sold stinger missiles to terrorists, and then she sent our ambassador over to buy them back, and these terrorists used them against us and murdered Stevens and three other brave Americans. Now we know why she stalled being questioned about these matters. Petraeus was scared to death that his affair would be outed, and they had him over the barrel. No wonder Hillary and 0bama left them all there to die; they were afraid the truth would come out, and it did.

But then there is Bloomberg .... then the NYTimes.... then NBC ..... then even the redoubtable Financial Times has gone elitist (think this statement a bit much? ... go read the FT the weekend after UKIP shocked British politics a few weeks back ..... FT: UKIP essentially are populist thugs versus the enlightened majority parties of the UK who favor the Euro project -- the FT has lost its financial bearings!) ...ugh

Patraeus should be cellmates in federal hardtime prison with Obongo, Panetta, Clinton, Dempsey, Donilon and McDonough (at a minimum) for criminal negligence in the deaths of 4 Americans and the abandoment of 30+ Americans. If some of the above don´t go to prison over Benghazi, then we are through as a nation.

I guess we shouldn´t be too harsh on Petraeus in all this. After all, he was doing a lot of thinking below his belt at the time, he was very preoccupied and Obama was holding Petraeus´ trashy affair over his head. Really smart for the director of the CIA to be having an illicit affair at the time. I wonder what Obama had over the traitor Justice Roberts, or has over John Boehner?

Petraeus´s role in drafting the talking points is really irrelevant. The fact is they had to come up with a storyline 3 days after the attack and decided to lie about the anti-muslim film being the reason for it.

It was all hands on deck for that phony narrative and I´m dubious on how big a role Petraeus played. He´s still in a position where he can´t defend himself because of some form of blackmail. He sure didn´t tell Susan Rice to do the big 5.

These people are still manufacturing lies to cover this up and there has to be a big reason why.

#11, I´ve read that the way Justice Roberts and his wife adopted their two lovely children from Ireland might have skirted Irish law. I have no idea if that´s true. Alas, I don´t think Boehner needs to be blackmailed to make a mixed of good and really bad decisions. I think of him as a mostly good guy who has been in Congress too long and has a dangerous "failure of imagination." People should take a 30,000-foot view of why Obama and the progressives are so intent on giving weapons to terrorists like the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and al qaeda who is fighting on the side of the Syrian rebels. Do they think the aligator will eat them last? Do progressives mistake themselves for aligators and see terrorists as just honey badgers? Do progressives think they can give the ME to islamists and they´ll be satisfied with a partial califate and be so grateful for the help that they´ll leave leftist elites alone? Fat chance.

Did not know about C.Justice Roberts adoption situation. That might explain the hold Obama has on him. We have criminals in charge of our country and our Republican leadership is corrupt too. If Repubs let Obama´s administration and the Dem party off lightly we will all know Repubs are in the tank for them. The next election would be a cake walk if Repubs wanted to win. Somehow I doubt we take the Senate with the current lack of passion for the truth and the desire to go for the throat(figuratively) fighting spirit among the Repub establishment. None of them want to rock the boat of their own power and perks.

There are some LOL areas in this piece.
" A close reading of recently released
government e-mails..."
is WaPo speak for transcribing the dictation of the WH.
You see, all along, the White House
was the one who wanted to tell the truth about Benghazi , but, it was General Petraeus
who masterminded the plot to deceive Americans,
The WH must feel pretty confident that they can still
control Petraeus .
The bugging obviously didn´t stop with the AP and James Rosen.
Perhaps DeYoung and Wilson in their zeal for the truth
might investigate the whereabouts of the Commander in Chief
on the night of the attack.
So far, that elephant in the room is always ignored.
We know he was last seen at 5 pm Sept 11.
The White House released this statement on Sept 12, 2012 :
" The President was notified last night that Ambassador Stevens was unaccounted for
and then notified again
this morning about his tragic death."

My guess is that when Blessed Hussein saw the footage of Benghazi streaming the pm of 9/11, he immediately left the room and went off the grid- telling them to stonewall first and foremost and to handle it themselves so that he has no record with which to be attacked.

The ´Who, Me?´ gambit.

Meanwhile, he gets the bong out and has a great evening watching TV, eats some Cheetos and goes to bed and leaves for Vegas next morning.

No problem.

It seems to me that it is obvious that his first report did not please Washington and they have taken care to keep it secret. Until we have seen it we really have no way to draw conclusions. Some poster here wants him in jail. What for?

Does our Constitution guarantee the freedom of religion, or does it merely allow a more limited freedom to worship? The difference is profound. Worship is an event. Religion is a way of life. Specifically, does the First Amendment guarantee believers of all faiths the freedom to practice their ethics, educate their children and operate family businesses based on their religious beliefs, moral convictions and freedom of conscience? The Kentucky senator, who is more than flirting with a 2016 presidential run, is making a smart play for the millennial generation that was key to President Obama’s twin victories and that his own party has convincingly repelled. The disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 has exposed the technological limits of satellites, which can see a license plate from space — if not necessarily read it — but struggle to find a missing jetliner. These limits are shaped by physics, money and practicality. Military and commercial satellites are not closely observing and amassing data about the blank places on the map in lightly traveled seas — such as remote areas of the Indian Ocean thousands of miles from where Flight MH370 vanished from radar. There’s also a trade-off when scrutinizing the surface from space: You can go wide

When the National Zoo’s female sloth bear, Khali, delivered three cubs last December, she consumed one of them right after it was born. Carnivores do this in the wild when there is a sick offspring. A deceased cub in the den can draw predators, the zoo said. But a week later, when Khali consumed a second cub, keepers feared for the third. So for the first time in the zoo’s history, keepers took a sloth bear cub from its mother to raise by hand. Three months later, after weeks of incubators, midnight feedings and quiet sessions in a rocking chair,

Jimmy Carter has been very active in the decades since his presidency, and his successors have occasionally called for his advice. Except, it turns out, the current occupant of the office. A clip from Carter’s upcoming Meet the Press interview reveals that President Obama is the first president since Carter left office not to solicit the Southern Democrat’s advice. Carter explained, “President Clinton did and President George W. Bush and H.W. Bush and even Ronald Reagan used to call on us to go into sensitive areas.” They all asked Carter to deal with “unsavory characters,” but Obama hasn’t reached out to

A Washington Post story purporting to expose the Koch brothers as behind-the-scenes beneficiaries of the Keystone Pipeline has been exposed as an utterly false propaganda operation, hilariously wrong and politically malicious. Even worse, one of the writers behind the story is married to a political operative in the left wing Koch-demonization machine. The Washington Post was recently purchased by Jeff Bezos of Amazon, who ought to take a hard look at the reporters and editors who collaborated with the left wing smear machine, and while he is at it, should send a note of thanks to John Hinderaker, the blogger

In a speech Friday, Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush praised illegal immigrants as "risk takers" who embody the entrepreneurial spirit of America and doubled down on his defense of Common Core. According to the Miami-Herald, Bush made his remarks in front of business leaders in Florida. “People who come here legally and illegally are the risk takers,” Bush reportedly said. “If you’re living in a rural area of Guatemala and you come, you’re a bigger risk taker than those who stay,” he added. Of course, the first action of those who come to the country illegally is breaking the law. Bush also said he

Here’s a question I’ll bet nobody ever asked Jay Carney at a White House press briefing: Why does Michelle Obama’s mother live at the White House at taxpayer expense? (If someone has asked, please send link for me to stand corrected.) Now that Michelle Obama’s mother has caused a disruption on the latest exotic vacation for the first lady, perhaps it is time for some answers about why Marian Robinson is even on the trip to China. Worse, why is she appearing in official photographs with Chinese officials? Drudge is reporting in big bold lead letters that Marian Robinson is barking

A feminist studies professor at a California state university is facing criminal charges after a videotaped run-in with a teenage pro-life demonstrator in which she snatched an anti-abortion sign and appeared to get physical with the girl. University of California at Santa Barbara Associate Professor Mireille Miller-Young was charged with one misdemeanor count each of theft, battery and vandalism in the March 4 incident, Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce Dudley announced Friday. The charges came days after 16-year-old Thrin Short and her parents met with prosecutors. Thrin told authorities what she told FoxNews.com earlier this month: She, her older

In 2011, over 8,000 kids were suspended from preschool — preschool! — in America. More than half were black, despite comprising less than half of the student population. Sure, we can entertain a lot of theories why this is the case, but I am going to go with this one: America has a problem with racism. The odds are probably better than even that you will be annoyed by that. Which is fine. I accept that response. And there are a lot of possibilities that could explain how this bit of data is an aberration. As the Associated Press reports, the

First lady Michelle Obama told students that freedom of speech should be a universal right during her extravagant, no-press-allowed tour of China — a hypocritical move that will surely draw the ire of critics, according to an expert. “That is troublesome. That goes beyond hypocritical, and I think the American media and the international media has every right to call her and the Obama administration on that — that they permitted that to happen,” said Tom Whalen, a political history professor at Boston University. “It makes you shake your head, albeit sadly.” The first lady stopped at Peking University in Beijing yesterday

Vice President Biden told healthcare workers that "patience and empathy" are required to deal with frustrated ObamaCare enrollees and that the president demonstrated saint-like levels of both during the rollout. Speaking to a conference of community health centers in New York, Biden conceded that enrolling in ObamaCare could be "tedious," and early problems with HealthCare.gov worsened the problem. "We didn´t help you much at the front end here, man," Biden said, adding that he wanted to recommend President Obama "for sainthood" because he maintained his patience through the early technical problems with the website. "The president and I were as frustrated as anyone

ONCE upon a time I had a cat named Lucky, and the name fit. She turned up on our doorstep as a stray and stayed with us for 10 years, until her rather gruesome demise. (More about that later.) I liked her because she was a free spirit, and a survivor, going out for two, three, even five days, in all seasons. She’d show up when it suited her, waiting in the dark before dawn till I came downstairs and turned on my desk lamp. Then she’d make her presence known by rising up on her hind legs and gently

When Washington, D.C., councilman and former Mayor Marion Barry this week said that whites need to be “more open-minded” about African-American politicians, claiming “blacks are more open-minded than” whites, he was suggesting that whites can´t do what blacks do -- embrace the other race. But a new study of 212 black college students made available to Secrets found little open-mindedness: Blacks don´t like it when other blacks associate with whites, to the point of refusing help to an African-American experiencing “a run of bad luck” -- just because they have white friends. The study in the April edition of the authoritative journal
