Journalism advocates call

USA Today, by Aamer Madhani & Kevin Johnson

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department says it hasn´t prosecuted journalists for obtaining or publishing classified information and has no plans to. But open government and journalism advocates say the aggressive investigations of classified leaks by government officials under the Obama administration´s watch are having a chilling effect on news organizations´ ability to play a watchdog role. The renewed criticism of the Obama administration comes after new revelations that federal authorities secretly obtained the e-mails and tracked the movements of Fox News reporter James Rosen

I know this sounds crazy but one of the problems we have here is there´s no special laws protecting white people in general, while there´s all kinds of rights add ons the liberals have installed over the years for their victim groups. You can´t claim any of this stuff is a civil rights violations because they´re reserved for minorities. Liberals believe whites have an unfair advantage so they don´t need special protection. If a gay group or NAACP was targeted, the ACLU and others would be all over it filing massive civil rights claims the government.

What it should be called is corruption Chicago style. Obama is surrounded by like minded individuals whose philosophy is any means to an end (emphasis on "any"). There is no such thing as overreach or illegal in their vocabulary. What is chilling is the total lack of curiosity of Obama´s questionable past by the media. The aiding and abetting of smears by the media towards anyone who dared raise questions about him is, in my opinion, outrageous. Now these journalism advocates are troubled after they turned a blind eye to every other egregious behavior by this administration. What a bunch of ethical giants./s

The Media Research Center reports that a report promoted heavily by NBC News Special Anchor Maria Shriver was funded by a ultra-left political group funded by George Soros. Earlier this week Shriver was all over NBC News and MSNBC to talk about a study titled "The Shriver Report: A Woman´s Nation Pushes Back From the Brink." The promotion of the report also allowed Shriver and NBC News to portray President Obama as "sympathetic to working mothers." This push focusing on women we see throughout the media, not just on NBC, is nothing more than the media prepping the battlefield to

Everyone who works for someone does so knowing that at any time, they might be handed the pink slip. Don´t do your best at the job you have, and it´s sure to come sooner than later. In Washington, things work ... differently. A look at presidential administrations over the last few decades shows that very few high-level officials ever hear the word "fired" -- as a top aide to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie did last week when her role in shutting down busy bridge lanes was exposed. And as the scandals pile up in the Obama Executive Branch, the

The skeleton of his burned out 1978 Toyota MR2, tire rims melted on the ground, rested in the courtyard nearby as firefighters continued mopping up the area. “I lost everything, how am I going to survive?” he said. Congress gave final approval Thursday to a $1.1 trillion spending bill that eases the sharp budget cuts known at the sequester and guarantees that the nation will not endure another government shutdown until at least Oct. 1. After three years of politically bruising and economically damaging battles over the budget, the bipartisan agreement to fund federal agencies through the rest of the fiscal year passed with little fanfare. The Senate voted 72 to 26 to approve the measure Thursday evening, after Republicans persuaded Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) to drop a last-minute push to force another showdown over the Affordable Care

WASHINGTON— Nutritionists say Americans don´t need more white potatoes. Congress disagrees — again. Lawmakers are encouraging the agriculture secretary to allow low-income pregnant and nursing mothers to buy white potatoes with the vouchers they receive as part of a government program. That goes against the advice of the Institute of Medicine, which advises the government on health issues. The institute has said recipients of such aid already eat enough white potatoes. It´s not that white potatoes themselves aren´t nutritious. But they´re often used to make french fries, which are usually fried or baked in unhealthy fats and oils. Since 2009,
