It´s "a cliché" to say that America "is the greatest country on Earth," Pres. Obama told a DNC event in New York City on Monday. "And more than anything, what I will be striving for over the next three and a half years is to see if that spirit that I saw in Boston and West, Texas, if we can institutionalize that, if we can create a framework where everybody is working together and moving this country forward. "Now, the good news is that if we do that, we´ve got the best cards of any country on Earth --

Kind of goes along with his sage words of wisdom:

´´ If you´ve got a business—you didn´t build that. Somebody else made that happen.´´

You can bet a lot of the Moonbats at that DNC event cringed when the Messiah said that, but they´ll never admit it.

A "cliche" is a trite or overused expression or idea.

Obama said he believes saying that the United States is "the greatest country on earth" s a "cliche."

Well then Mr. President... what country do you think is the greatest country on earth?"

I read the article. Obama seems to want the United States of America to be just so so.

O wants to "institutionalize" Americans´ natural spirit of kindness and generosity. Translation: He wants to kill individual responsibility and bravery so that government is the only entity that can respond (when and if he wants it to) when people are in need of help.

That remark caught my immediate attention too, #10. How on earth can you institutionalize spirit? Give everybody a badge that says "I Have The Spirit"? And the framework he wants to create "where everybody is working together and moving this country forward" has so many interpretations it makes my head spin.

Meanwhile Our Dear Leader is draping our spirit in soaking wet blankets and moving us backward until we fall into the Slough of Despond.

The Bay Area Toll Authority spent $9.4 million to build a temporary entrance so the Bay Bridge´s bike path could be ready when the new eastern span opened to traffic in September. And now - after less than seven months - the half-mile-long connector is being torn down to make way for a new, permanent gateway. That puts the cost to provide temporary bike and pedestrian access to the bridge at about $47,000 a day.

Everyone knew there would be some gun owners flouting the law that legislators hurriedly passed last April, requiring residents to register all military-style rifles with state police by Dec. 31. But few thought the figures would be this bad. That 50,000 figure could be as little as 15 percent of the rifles classified as assault weapons owned by Connecticut residents, according to estimates by people in the industry, including the Newtown-based National Shooting Sports Foundation. No one has anything close to definitive figures, but the most conservative estimates place the number of unregistered assault weapons well above 50,000, and perhaps

The journalists at ABC News offered yet another high profile experiment to terrify the parents of America into not owning guns. In an hour-long special on Friday night, Diane Sawyer and David Muir hid pink guns at the playground of an elementary school in an effort to see if young girls would play with them. Unsurprisingly, the young children did. The Young Guns program also included the obvious revelation that firearms shouldn´t be concealed in backpacks and with candy. Diane Sawyer narrated, "For more than a decade, there has been a powder pink gun on the market." Referencing the location of

That´s when they discovered the chilly hazards of dependence on the individual health insurance market.
