Eric Holder Recuses
Himself From Leak Investigation

Townhall, by Katie Pavlich

Attorney General Eric Holder has recused himself from the Associated Press leak investigation. He will officially announce his recusal at a press conference Tuesday afternoon. Fox News is reporting his recusal comes partially because Holder has testified about potential national security leaks surrounding a May 7, 2012 Associated Press story. Yesterday, the Associated Press revealed the Department of Justice had been secretly monitoring both the personal and work phones of numerous AP editors and reporters. DOJ responded to these revelations by releasing the following

He recuses himself from all activities of the Justice Department. By that I mean he never replies in writing to anything but everyone asks his permission. The investigators will ask the questions he wants asked, avoid the areas he tells them to avoid, and reach the conclusions he has dictated. But if the investigation is proven to be a whitewash, he will deny having been involved. In short - just like every day in the Justice Department.

This is just a bit of political theater to put a big flashing sign around the message, just in case there is anyone left who didn´t get THE MESSAGE the first time, delivered by the AP.

Last week there was disturbing testimony on Benghazi from State Department insiders. Immediately following were stories about more "whistleblowers" to come. Next up, the AP story that the Justice Department got a huge cache of AP phone records a YEAR AGO.

The MESSAGE?

To: Everyone in government, past and present.

Message: The phone records of the person you are talking to, or talked to last year, may already be in the justice department´s hands. And you don´t know that they aren´t bugged as you speak.

Whistleblowers? What whistleblowers? All of a sudden, I bet no one´s talking.

The Obama DOJ thought it possible that one or
more of 100 AP journalists could be traitors.
Remember that when you see an AP byline.
Or.. they were using the Yemen plot as an excuse to mine for dirt on AP reporters to use as blackmail.

It would be wonderful if there were a person or persons of stature who would bring him to justice. Where are the adults?? To think that America not long ago was the only adult nation on earth and now it is in the grip of pretentious juveniles seeking revenge and unlimited reward for fantasized injuries.

Researchers at Princeton and Northwestern universities have pored over 1,800 US policies and concluded that America is an oligarchy. Instead of looking out for the majority of the country’s citizens, the US government is ruled by the interests of the rich and the powerful, they found. No great surprises there, then. But the government is not the only American power whose motivations need to be rigourously examined. Some 2,400 miles away from Washington, in Silicon Valley, Google is aggressively gaining power with little to keep it in check. It has cosied up to governments around the world so effectively that its chairman,

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already

The first step is admitting… It was a simple question to someone accustomed to much tougher ones: What was her proudest achievement as secretary of state? But for a moment, Hillary Rodham Clinton, appearing recently before a friendly audience at a women’s forum in Manhattan, seemed flustered.(Snip)So…no definitive successes and some clear-cut failures. And that’s the generous New York Times assessment. The Democrat fantasy story about Mrs. Clinton paints her as strong and accomplished on her own. In reality, this is a woman who is professionally defined almost entirely by two men in her life, both of whom happen to have

Remember when Lois Lerner, in answering a planted question at an American Bar Association conference, admitted the IRS had targeted conservative groups but tried to pass it off as the work of rogue agents — “our line people in Cincinnati”? Today we know there were indeed federal agents involved. But they weren’t rogue, and they weren’t confined to IRS workers in Cincinnati. Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, we now have an e-mail Lerner sent to colleagues noting the Department of Justice was looking into criminal prosecutions of these tax-exempt groups. We know something else, too. These investigations
