Soledad O´Brien: ´OK, white

Washington Examiner, by Paul Bedard

Soledad O´Brien, recently yanked from her morning show "Starting Point" on CNN, plans to continue her focus on racial issues and is charging that whites are afraid of dealing with the nation´s black-white division. O´Brien, just named a distinguished visiting fellow at Harvard´s Graduate School of Education, told the school´s Institute of Politics that she´s often confronted by whites who want to take issue with her documentaries on race in America. "People would sometimes, when I give speeches, stand up and say, ´You know I think your black America documentaries (are) divisive.

OK, take four categories, all of them reflecting the results of individual choices and abilities, by race --

a. per capita gdp of productive output
b. per capita social costs [welfare, courts, etc.]
c. crime rate
d. representation in high-responsibility, high-production occupations

Ya wanna have that conversation, Solie? Do ya? Hunh, do ya?

What do they hope to accomplish by talking more? The nation has done more than enough already, if they moved much further I would move out and never look back. I´m tired of their obsession with race, they should go talk to the klan who share their obsession.

OK. I realize that Ms. O´Brien is a distinguished visiting fellow at Harvard. But did she graduate High School? Or did Harvard feel the need for more diversity in the faculty lounge?

Since she seems to have trouble speaking English properly, I will make it simple - I will just give her the answer. Ms. O´Brien, the correct way to construct that sentence is: ´OK, white person, this is a conversation with which you are clearly uncomfortable´.

If you are going to attempt to denigrate folks like me (you know, a "white person"), at least have the decency to do so using a sentence that does not end in a preposition.

It´s the least you can do from your post at dear old Harvard.

You ever try talking with a black person about politics? I have an gave up when I realized that I couldn´t get a word in edgewise. Same with those stoopid "sensitivity" sessions that are too often given in business. One way street. Especially if you are a white man.

It´s beyond "uncomfortable", you simpleton. People have disdain for a conversation which begins with "oppressors" and "victims" defined by skin color with no regard individual circumstances.

From the article:

"She continued: "First of all it´s only white people who ever said that--if we could just see beyond race."

Gee, Soledad, did you ever hear of Martin Luther King? Last I checked:

1. He was black

2. He famously said "I have a dream, that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today!"

Soledad´s bias is surpassed only by her ignorance.

She doesn´t want to talk about race, she wants to talk ´Victimhood´. If she wants to talk race go to New Orleans and ask a Vietnamese family what they think of Blacks. Ask a Haitian immigrant what he thinks of Whites or American Blacks. Go to the airport and ask the black union operatives running the cab stand what they think of the white drivers. Soledad would run for the hills.

Not uncomfortable, just sick to death of the maxed out race card. Not a single white american alive today has ever owned a slave. Not a single black american today has ever been a slave, and has not been since the Emancipation Proclamation. White people are not inciting riots, flash mobs, celebrating "get whitey day" at state fairs. Did it ever once cross your brain that sometimes people just don´t like some black person, because said black person is just a jerk, plain nasty, or confrontational with a chip the size of Noah´s ark on his shoulder? An ark filled with donkeys, as in democrat party donks. People don´t disagree with you because they hate you, but because they disagree with you. White people are not all racist, but I can guarantee you we are all getting tired of being called racist for every utterance. Grow up and get over yourself.

How´s that affirmative action working for ya? And as a flyover native, I´m not all that impressed with Hahvahd.

A typical paranoid, dogmatic race fanatic who is part of the problem, not part of the solution. The American ethos has always been to treat and judge people as individuals. That it has not always been followed is unquestionable. That the great majority of Americans alive today believe in it and desire to follow it is equally unquestionable.

The racists are the Soledad O´Briens of the nation, professional race-baiters, grievance mongers, practitioners of identity politics and above all collectivists who are opposed to, if they even comprehend, the very idea of the individual.

They are stuck on the skin color thing. This permits them to avoid looking at what counts, character and behavior in the individual. When one tries to direct their attention to the latter their minds always revert to the skin color thing. If "people of color" often behave badly and in ways to merit censure, it is because they are ill-treated by others because of their skin color. If they were treated better and respected more they would behave better. Etc. etc. etc. It is a hopeless circle.

The principal thing is that Ms. O´Brien´s race-baiting makes her feel special superior, sophisticated, socially progressive, more moral and ethical and in fact just a better human being that those upon whom she looks down and sneers with contempt. It´s like an addiction people like her. They get high off of calling the rest of us racists.

She is such a tiresome little thing.

And she misses the point that a good majority of us are simply going to work, making a living, feeding our kids, paying our taxes, working and eating and having fun side by side with people who look different than we do. We listen to one another´s concerns about our children, our parents, our marriages - we´re friends.

We don´t think about it, at least not on the obessive level that Soledad does. She´s the one with the problem.

Racist? Work hard, move to a good town, and the liberals want to send the thugs from the inner city to your towns schools. I don´t know why we´re uncomfortable with it. Back in the 1960s we saw a thriving black middle class, they had all kinds of businesses that did well, and their kids were getting decent educations and moving up in the world. Then, the federal government put I all of the Great Society programs as well as busing, and every year after that, blacks underachieved. Maybe there´s connection. For the left, the way to fix it is to tax workers more and throw money at it. For the rest of us, the way to fix it is to hold government and the underachievers accountable. Simple solutions for difficult problems.

As #10 points out - we White folk have been pavloved into NOT seeing skin color on threat of severe name-calling on the part of the elite PC crowd. That´s fine if Blacks want to change that rule, but they need to give us a heads-up warning. Kinda like when Jesse would make regular proclamations on what Blacks would be calling themselves from now on. It changes, but at least they made announcements.
And for the record, almost anything we Whites don´t like about Blacks collectively, is the fault of what Federal policies have done to them.

The most overworked pejorative phrase by LIB reporters is: "predominantly white." Predominantly white? You´re damn right. White population in U.S. = 72+%. Predominantly white is what it is. That fact is one LIBs, like the mindless O´Brien, find as a negative. Tears them up. Some twit on one of the Sunday talks said as a rebuttal, "Well, U.S. newsrooms ARE predominantly white!" Well, yeah.

Soledad´s mother was a Black Cuban and her father was Australian of Irish descent. She went to Harvard as did all her brothers and sisters. While well educated she is the classic leftist knee jerk Dem who has never seen a liberal cause or a racial issue that she cannot espouse. She is a pompous bore, a scold and her bosses at CNN clearly viewed her as insufferable, TWICE. After pretending to be a Hispanic white for most of her life she now finds it more advantageous to be a radical Black. Not only does she not belong, even on the radical CNN, she does not belong on television anywhere!

A new report reveals if Congress does not act to overhaul the country’s immigration system, the future could be bleak for businesses who depend on lower-skilled workers. The study, which was released during a Capitol Hill meeting co-hosted by the Partnership for a New American Economy, a bipartisan group of mayors and business leaders, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, finds that while there is still a strong demand for low-skilled workers, the number of Americans willing to fill those low-skill jobs has dwindled dramatically during the last two decades. Some conservatives are up in arms over a hurried Thursday vote on the so-called “doc fix” for Medicare, which they felt leadership tried to slip by them. The bill passed in a 30-second voice vote with very few members on the House floor. The “doc fix” is a temporary patch to prevent a 24 percent cut to the amount of money the government pays doctors who take care of Medicare patients. The cut will take effect on April 1 if Congress does not move to prevent it. Owing to the tight deadline, leadership opted to bring the bill straight to the floor “under

This latest Saul Alinsky tactic got us thinking about who really qualifies as an American oligarch. According to the AP-GFK survey released Wednesday, 59 percent disapprove of Obama´s job performance while 41 percent approve. A similar poll released by the news outlet in January found 45 percent approved of him while 53 percent disapproved. Other recent polling has found Obama´s disapproval rating slightly lower, remaining in the low 50s. A CBS News poll Tuesday showed 50 percent disapproval, while Gallup has his disapproval at 52 percent. In the AP poll,

On Tuesday night two things happened. 1. A trio of Secret Service agents were sent home from Amsterdam after one was found passed out drunk in a hotel hallway. 2. The Obama Administration announced (another) extension of the enrollment deadline for Obamacare signups. At first glance, these two events have little in common with one another. But, modern politics is all about narratives and storylines. And, both of these events confirm a growing concern from the public about President Obama: That he´s just not up to governing his administration and, by extension, the country, effectively.

One by one, the myths of the Affordable Care Act have been revealed. When the curtain on open enrollment falls on March 31, the last remaining big myth of ObamaCare will be fully exposed: The individual mandate has failed. After a last-ditch effort with President Obama himself encouraging "young invincibles" to sign up before the deadline, the administration is scrambling to boost enrollment. On Tuesday, the White House announced that people who applied for coverage on the federal health-insurance exchange will have until mid-April to finish the paperwork. The mandate was supposed to be the administration´s magical elixir for the assorted shortcomings

More than six million Americans have now signed up for private insurance under the Affordable Care Act, according to the White House, with just four days to go until the end of its first open enrollment period. While traveling in Italy on Thursday, President Obama shared the news in a conference call with thousands of health-care navigators and volunteers helping enroll people on state and federal marketplaces. As the volume of consumers seeking health plans has surged -- there were over 1.5 million visits to HealthCare.gov Wednesday and more than 430,000 calls to the marketplaces´ call centers -- Obama urged those on

When Jorge Mario Bergoglio became Pope Francis a little more than a year ago, the first thing that struck those who knew him well was his unexpected, beatific smile. “In Argentina, he didn’t smile like that,” Sergio Rubin, the pope’s biographer, said this week at a conference sponsored by the Ethics and Public Policy Center. “That was the big surprise.” Since then, the pope has mostly kept on smiling — in homilies, in audiences, in meetings with the homeless and the poor. If you look at the pictures from Francis’ meeting with President Obama on Thursday, though, the smile is there only some of the time.

Their target is the GOP, but they are not angry liberals bent on destroying it. They are reform-minded Republican leaders intent on strengthening it. These Republicans are applying conservative principles to 21st-century challenges, focused on middle-class concerns like lowering costs and improving access to college, modernizing health care and reforming the tax code. They aim to broaden prosperity´s reach through markets and merit, not government and corporate cronyism. They´re also concentrating on helping the poor by changing Washington´s dizzying assortment of antipoverty programs to emphasize work and make the safety net more effective and sustainable. The reformers´ success in providing

One is a world leader who has been praised for his humility and outlook on the world. The other is an American president, once the international superstar of the political stage. So it is no surprise that President Barack Obama has travelled to the Vatican in Rome possibly to get some tips from the popular Pope Francis who now even has own weekly glossy magazine dedicated to him. As he sat down with the Pontiff at the Vatican this morning, Obama called himself a ´great admirer´ of the pope. Their historic first meeting comes as Obama´s administration and the church

Usually the type of Republicans MSNBC hosts invite on their shows are either craven RINO types who can be depended upon to trash talk fellow Republicans, or the more inarticulate, dimmer bulbs in the party who fail to communicate conservative positions effectively. MSNBC host Chris Hayes had an entirely different type of animal on his hands with PA Americans For Prosperity Director, Jennifer Stefano. In fact, he´s probably still licking his wounds after the nasty confrontation he had with her, Wednesday night in a debate over the latest ObamaCare delay. He got off on the wrong foot by introducing Stefano
