With its white beaches and crystal clear waters, it´s no wonder that St Maarten is one of the most popular tourists destinations in the Caribbean. But there´s another reason holidaymakers flock to the island´s Maho beach - it is also the ultimate location for plane spotting. In these startling images, tourists can be seen reaching up as if to try and grab the planes as they come in to land on the runway situated on the end of the beach. Scroll down for video -Princess Juliana International Airport is renowned for its low-altitude flyovers

#1, dittoes for North Shore of Oahu... !!

#2, you need a vacation... !!
(actually, we all do... !!)

Personally, having lived in L.A. for five years, any Angelino worth their sea salt
can tell you that of course LAX is right on the ocean, and you can sit on the
Pacific beach there and have huge 747´s etc take off right over you as they head out to various locations such as Hawaii, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, etc

Pretty interesting if you enjoy seeing huge stately aircraft fairly close overhead...
And farther out beyond the surf you see on the water the oil tankers lined up to
deliver crude to the oil refinery immediately south at El Segundo, which
was Standard Oil when I worked there long ago... also worked at Mobil in Torrance.

There are many many other beaches nearby, but that´s one of ´em...

Does this bring back all kinds of memories. Here in Dallas, when Love Field was the only airport (no DFW) the small lake by Love Field was the favorite location for just hanging out. A blanket on the lake shore laying on your back, with sounds and sights of the jets flying over so close you´d swear they were landing on you. Alas. That ended when DFW was opened. It was a rush while it lasted.
Thanks for posting. Great alternative, actually might be better!

I lived in Dallas just before DFW opened and Love Field was the only game in town. I was a couple of blocks north of Oaklawn and a block east of Cedar Springs which put me pretty close to the flight path of aircraft climbing out of the airport. This was before cable TV and everytime a plane went over the the picture turned to crap.

I grew up in a house that was directly under the glide path to a big-city airport.

We were so used to them, we barely paid attention. But one day, sitting in the yard, one came in especially loud and low, and the dog yelped and dived for cover!

But two of the nation’s leading vegan and vegetarian organizations say they’re willing to give Clinton a pass since he is mostly adhering to the tenants of the diet. Why does Clinton continue to call himself a vegan? “There is some latitude … he is primarily a vegan,” said Len Torine, Executive Director of the American Vegetarian Association. “Whatever amount of vegan you are, I support it. Zogby is especially worried about losing ground in the important states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania – all states with a large contingent of voters with "European/Mediterranean" lineage. Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

The platform, with few changes, was adopted overwhelmingly as the Las Vegas convention stretched late into the evening. The vote mirrors that of the Clark County GOP, which voted earlier to remove platform language defining marriage as between a man and a woman and statements opposing abortion. As the midterm elections approach and the administration’s incompetence, along with the distaste for the president’s signature ObamaCare legislation, drive the party’s chances down further, the make-believe coalition of opposites may well crumble if the opposition doesn’t blow it.
