Tamerlan Tsarnaev was buried at Al-Barzakh Muslim Cemetery in Doswell, Va., according to the recently released death certificate for the Boston bombing suspect. Tsarnaev’s death certificate, released Friday by the office of Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, shows that his immediate cause of death was “gunshot wounds of torso and extremities and blunt trauma to head and torso.”The 26-year-old native of Elista Kalmykia, Russia, was pronounced dead at 1:35 a.m. on April 19, hours after he engaged in a shootout with authorities in Watertown, Mass.

Comments:
The causes of death were not listed as primary and secondary, but as multiple factors joined by "and".

It would be interesting to see the full autopsy report, which would be more specific about the primary and secondary injuries. The police said they were cuffing Tamerlan when the brother aimed the car at them. They jumped out of the way, and Tamerlan got snagged and dragged.

Tamerlan had only received a few gunshot wounds when he was being cuffed. At that point little brother gunned the engine and drove toward the group that included officers and his brother. The officers jumped aside. There was a report afterward that his body suffered a huge bash to the torso, consistent with being hit by a heavy car (Mercedes SUV) and being dragged 30 feet.

Who those who do not understand "blunt trauma" aka "blunt force traume", it is standard medical examiner terminology for a particular kind of cause of death. In Tamerlan´s case the death certificate includes the cause - "Shot by police and then run over and dragged by motor vehicle". Pretty clear.

Deaths resulting from blunt force trauma are some of the most common cases encountered by the practicing forensic pathologist. Whereas other forms of traumatic death (eg, gunshot wounds, sharp force injuries) occur under a relatively limited number of circumstances, deaths resulting from blunt force trauma occur in a variety of scenarios. For instance, almost all transportation fatalities — including those involving motor vehicle collisions, pedestrians being struck by vehicles, airplane crashes, and boating incidents — result from blunt force trauma.

Re #1, the causes of death were not primary and secondary. They were "all of the above". The gunshot wounds AND the blunt trauma caused by the vehicle.

But as I recall he was alive when he was being cuffed. It is my guess (and just a guess) that that the blunt trauma did more damage than the bullets.

At least one report says that "huge gash to the torso" seen in the autopsy photo may have been part of the life-saving operation at the hospital.

Blunt force does not alwsys leave external signs of damage, although his face is a mess.

If the moral do-gooders get involved, the white-hat brother will be charged with murder of his brother. That way, he can get life in prison in MA rather than the death penalty for terrorism. That might also be politically expedient for the Obama administration.

Here is how Putin feels about immigrants and illegal aliens, like these murderers:

Putin´s Speech on Feb. 04, 2013

On February 4th, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia:

"In Russia live Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, then we advise them to go to those places where that´s the state law. Russia does not need minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell ´discrimination´. We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of most minorities. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the national interest first, observing that the minorities are not Russians.

The politicians in the Duma gave Putin a standing ovation for five minutes.

If you keep this to yourself, you are part of the problem.
