A saint-making record is also a
diplomatic headache for
Pope Francis

NBC News, by Claudio Lavanga

ROME -- Pope Francis canonized more than 800 Catholics in Saint Peter’s Square Sunday – the largest number to be elevated to sainthood at once in the history of the Catholic Church. The choice of some of the new saints was also striking, touching on the already-fragile relationship between Christianity and Islam. The new saints included hundreds of laymen from the southern Italian port town of Otranto who were slain in the 15th century by the invading Ottoman Turkish army after they refused to convert to Islam. In 1480, after conquering Constantinople –

The Roman Catholic Church canonized Thomas More and John Fisher, and today they are in the calendar of saints of the Anglican Church they opposed because they were men of faith.

Maybe the muzzies will canonize the Italian martyrs for keeping true to their faith as well s/o

This is definitely a screw-up by the Vatican. The Pontiff should have brought in an Iman to conduct the ceremony in Arabic so he could damn the newly-minted Saints to hell for all eternity.

That´s how we roll in the Obama military and that´s how NBC News loves it.

Saints allow church members someone to pray to intercede on their behalf with God. Canonization requires 2 miracles after their death. Who better to pray to in times of spiritual weakness than a countryman who chose to give up their life rather abandon their faith. I personally have prayed to John Paul II to help my son retain his faith against the lures of secular life.

Here´s a hint for the media airheads. The war between Christianity and Islam goes back 14 centuries. During that time no pope has ever been interested in inter religious dialog for the sake of dialog. That´s because the task of the pope is to lead souls to eternal salvation.

Pope Francis also received the head of the Coptic Christians of Egypt who are suffering at the hands of Islamists there and demonstrated solidarity with them. The man in jail who produced the famous video blamed for Benghazi by Obama was a Coptic Christian. I find the wording of the headline of this article rather snarky. It is possible that diplomatic difficulties could be the result of Islamic attitudes. It is not constructive diplomatically for America to take the blame for Islamist attacks on the homeland on 9/11 , 2001, 2013, etc. When we blame ourselves for their hatred it just emboldens them to attack again. Is that a diplomatic headache? It is time to confront Islamists not cater to them as this administration does.

Unaware of the witch hunt carried out by McCarthy’s rainbow-brandishing gay great-grandsons in Silicon Valley, a middle-aged man came forward and cried out in Italian, “Is it just me, or is the gay lobby imposing a dictatorship on us with their so-called scientific experts?” The science to which he referred wasn’t JavaScript, but rather psychology and pediatrics. Climate change’s latest casualty appears to be fish — or more specifically, fish brains — as researchers say the carbon dioxide that’s being absorbed into the ocean is causing the scaly creatures to lose their survival instincts. In other words, the fish are losing their minds, The Daily Mail reported. The acid from atmospheric carbon dioxide seeps into sea waters, dissolves and ultimately lowers the pH balance, researchers said. The acidic waters then hamper the fishes’ sensory systems, so they’re not able to distinguish between smells any longer, the scientists went on. When the acid levels get really high, the fish lose their
