Apologize For ´Absolutely Chilling´
IRS Targeting Of Tea Party Groups

Business Insider, by Brett LoGiurato

U.S. Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said Sunday that the IRS´ admission of targeting various conservative groups for extra scrutiny was "absolutely chilling," and she called on President Barack Obama to apologize. "This is truly outrageous and it contributes to the profound distrust that the American people have in government," Collins said on CNN´s "State of the Union." "It is absolutely chilling that the IRS was singling out conservative groups for extra review, and I think it´s very disappointing that the president hasn´t personally condemned this and spoken out."

1) Apoligize
2) Resign

The black caucus set the tone for the absolute disrespect of the TEA party.
Your aunt, your mother, perhaps your grandfather are members. Law abiding peaceful people who never before protested anything stood up to protest too high taxes and a bloated dishonest government and they were pilloried and called racist!
I demand an apology from the black caucus.

Collins has actually been pretty decent since her sidekick Snowe resigned. She´s not an outspoken person to begin with but she´s the kind of republican the left wants all of the republicans to be.So for her to speak out on this carries more clout than it appears..

I also like the Senator from NH, who held her own during the gun debate. She´d make a nice VP pick 2016. In fact,I wish Romney would have picked her this time. At least it would have knocked down the war on women crap, some.

Auditing pro Israel groups is really shameful and it shows Obama is anti-Israel,its just too bad a lot of American jews can´t seem to figure this out, unless they´ve been promised a seat at the table when the government overthrow happens.

The administration is trying to blame low level IRS employees. How do low level employees have this much power? If they do have this power than there is no need for the high level employees. Cut them out. Cover ups for Benghazi, Fast & Furious and IRS targeting conservative groups are all more serious than Whitewater. Where are the award winning investigative reporters?

This white-glove, mamby-pamby response to the esteemed president is garbage. You, Susan Collins, don´t know what outrage is! To you, outrage means to form another committee or to use passive words like "distrust, and disappointing."

Americans are livid, truly outraged and recent revelations have confirmed what we knew all along about the corruption and collusion in government. President of CBS and ABC in the White House pocket; reporters and the media in the tank; all willingly complicit in the actions and coverups of obama.

I would welcome Obama resigning, but I´m more in favor of his well-deserved impeachment. Future Presidents cannot use the Obama years as a precedent in order to get by with unconstitutional behavior just because Obama did.

The Supreme Court worries me because they turned a blind eye to his ineligibility to be POTUS. The Constitution has no Article, Clause, or Amendment which states that a person should be given special treatment(by ignoring the eligibility requirements) because of the color of his/her skin.

Until Obama can prove that his real father is an American citizen (no matter how embarrassing that might be to him), he should be removed from office. Since that´s not going to happen, there are so many instances of unconstitutional behavior during the past 5 years that Articles of Impeachment should have been issued already.

Glad to see that Senator Collins is speaking out, but I agree with above posters that Obama needs to do more than apologize. He would probably cross his fingers behind his back, since he wouldn´t mean it.

While i am not a member of any TEA Party group or any other group, for that matter, i have been annoyed and angered that so many Republicans and even some purported "Conservatives" have bought the line of attacks against TEA Partiers, that they are radical or "right wing" or any number of other attacks designed to be as pejorative as possible.

All of this was going on while the OWSers ("Occupy Wall Streeters") were committing crimes, polluting, defiling, putrefying and otherwise dirtying up wherever they squatted, with little or no criticism.

Also very important, the IRS wanted the mailing lists, i guess the list of donors, of TEA Party groups. The intention is to chill support, by instilling fear in supporters.

This is exactly how totalitarian dictatorial regimes work. Usually they make these incursions on liberty step by step.

We must demand that Democrats --IF they believe in liberty and will uphold their Oath to defend and protect this Constitutional Republic-- also condemn the BO regime´s unlawful, duplicitous behavior... including the flagrant use of "executive orders" when Congress prevents him from doing what he wants.

Senator Collins is about as liberal as you can be and still be a Republican. When she speaks out against Mr. Obama, it means a lot!

Of course, the more conservative types will call for impeachment or tar and feathers--none of which is going to happen--but for a lib to speak out like this is like a canary in a coal mine.
