Report: Top IRS officials knew
in 2011 that conservative
groups were targeted

Washington Post, by Josh Hicks and Ed O´Keefe

An inspector general’s report due for release this week says senior Internal Revenue Service officials knew that agents were targeting conservative groups for special scrutiny as early as 2011, nine months before the IRS commissioner assured Congress the targeting was not happening. The report is certain to raise questions about the timing of the IRS’s disclosure of the targeting on Friday, how high up were the officials who knew about the practice, and whether anyone outside the agency was aware of it. Details of the inspector general’s audit, obtained by The Washington Post from a congressional aide

I was befuddled when the IRS issued their apology and wondered why they would do such a thing just out of the blue.

Now I know. A report was coming out and the IRS wanted to get ahead of the storm.

Now this is definitely an impeachable offense. Using a government agency to silence your political opponents violates so many laws the Republicans will have to call a conference to determine which law to invoke.

What´s really funny about this is Obama´s Organizing For Action is supposedly a tax exempt, non partisan advocacy group that´s not supposed to have any direct contact with Obama or insider operatives. You´d have to be a class A moron to believe Obama doesn´t directly communicate with his fundraising and advocacy arms.

Between this and Benghazi, we could keep zippy and the dims from doing any governing at all for the rest of his term. It would be great for America in numerous ways.

This will probably result in hearings before the House. I pray there is a bit of investigating before hand. I understand the IRS says this is confined to lower levels in an office in Cincinnati, easy enough to check out, see if the information requested from those Tea Party groups in other parts of the country are similar, if so, that is a strong indication of upper level coordination.

11 and 13, sure, let the investigations continue. My point was that no high level hacks in the obama admin will be taken down by scandal. As for the media, they are defacto obama administration officials who faithfully publish the daily WH talking points. Thus, the mastery, just like the clintons, of maintaining deniability for criminals at the highest levels of big government. What´s more, even if the corrupt press mustered an ounce of integrity and did independent reporting on obama, the 47 percent could not care less. They´d continue to vote democrat as long as the free stuff arrives without delay.

Of course the tea party has been targeted by the IRS and the entire administration and it happened before the 4-15 rallies in 2009. It started with Big Sis saying that we must watch the veterans because who knows how they are going to react, meaning that they have guns and they could be terrorists. Planting the seeds of dissent. The hometown newspaper account was just as snarky with the move along, nothing to see here meme.

It never quit. Nancy Pelosi and her swastikas to the arrogance of Claire McCaskall. Our own Senator turning his back on a civics teacher when she implored him to follow the Constitution. Our local Republican county government following the Agenda 21 model and lying about it.

Not only when applying for their tax exempt status all the tea parties in our area had problems. The government would stall and stall. Finally when their status was granted the government called them an anti-government entity. That´s when the problems really started and it was back in 2009-2010. Apparently they refined their attacks. The IRS was commanded to do this. It´s extra work for them and they have other fish to fry. This was not the work of a few in Cincinnati. It was system wide.

As a retired federal employee (blue collar worker that did actual work) I can safely say that NO low level pencil pusher would dare to instigate investigations into tax exempt entities. An action like that would bring about instant career ending actions. No. something like this has to come from the very top. Simply because of all the fallout that would sure to follow. Like now. Like others, I believe that the disclosure comming out when and like it did is just a move to forestall any futher damage.

Obama is using the same bullying tactic he learned from the Clintons. There will be a scandal, but it will accomplish nothing. The only real solution is to vote these creeps out of office. But low-fo parasite voters (the most reliable Dem bloc) don´t pay taxes and couldn´t care less about the criminal targeting of "rich" people for audits.

The Supreme Court searched Tuesday for ways to let women get birth control without the government forcing their employers to cover the cost, as justices tried to balance business owners’ religious rights against allowing religious objections to a broad range of public policy issues. Justices touched on abortion, the limits of federal power and details of birth control, but the case centering on the Hobby Lobby craft store chain likely will come down to whether the court believes for-profit companies and their owners can claim a moral conscience objection to paying for employees’ birth control. The Washington Post is reporting that the Obama administration will give extra time to Americans who say they are unable to enroll in health-care plans through the federal insurance marketplace by the March 31 deadline. According to the Post, consumers who have begun to apply for coverage on HealthCare.gov, but who do not finish by Monday, will have until about mid-April to ask for an extension. To take advantage of this extension, consumers need only check a box on HealthCare.gov to indicate that they tried to enroll before the deadline. In the context of talking about limits on free speech, it’s common to say that your freedom to swing your fist ends where my nose begins. That seems like a sensible way to think about the freedom of religion case just argued before the Supreme Court: whether employers can be required to pay for contraceptive methods that would violate their religious convictions. Most disputes about religious freedom are bilateral — with the government on one side and the individual claiming infringement of religious liberty on the other. The Supreme Court seemed divided Tuesday over whether the religious objections of business owners protect them from a requirement in President Obama’s Affordable Care Act that health insurance plans cover all types of contraceptives. With both spring snow and demonstrators gathering on the sidewalk outside, the justices spent a spirited 90 minutes debating religious conviction, equal treatment for female workers and whether the court would be opening the door for religious challenges to all sorts of government regulation. It is difficult to predict a precise outcome based on the justices’ wide-ranging questions and statements.

Several justices sharply questioned Obamacare’s “abortion mandate” today at the Supreme Court, and five justices – a majority of the court – appeared deeply skeptical of the controversial regulation at issue. Chief Justice John Roberts—who turned out to be the swing vote in Obamacare’s first foray at the Court—expressed strong disagreement with several of the Obama administration’s arguments about legal protections for religious companies facing a mandate to provide contraceptives against their beliefs. Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak earlier on Monday said that information provided by British satellite company Inmarsat and the British government´s Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) confirmed that MH370 had flown to a remote part of the Indian Ocean where the flight ended. (Snip) Inmarsat had come up with a theory to apply to the data it had collected from MH370 during the flight, and had then tested the results on aircraft in

Media Matters, the website of choice for Fox News haters everywhere, attacked the cable news network on Monday for using the term “homosexual” in its programming — advancing the peculiar argument that the scientific term has a “pejorative connotation.” The online “media watchdog” contends that calling gay people “homosexual” is “a practice that’s quickly falling out of favor with major news outlets due the term’s often pejorative connotation and frequent use by opponents of LGBT equality.” Fox News, they chide, “has yet to update its language when referring to gay and lesbian people.” Buttressing their argument? Former President Jimmy Carter is back in the news this week publicizing a new book about women’s rights. But, as is often the case with Carter, he drew more interest for comments he made about Israel and its supporters. When asked on NBC’s Meet the Press yesterday by Andrea Mitchell why it was that Barack Obama never called upon him for advice, he made it clear that the Jewish state was the reason he has been treated like a pariah: I—that’s a hard question– for me to answer—you know, with complete candor. I think the problem was that– that in dealing

First Lady Michelle Obama talked about America as she visited a school today in China. She talked about the American dream: And my story isn’t unusual in America. Some of our most famous athletes, like LeBron James, and artists, like the singer Janelle Monae, came from struggling families like mine, as do many business leaders -- like Howard Schultz. He’s the head of a company called Starbucks, which many of you may have heard of. When Mr. Schultz was a boy his father lost his job, leaving their family destitute. But Mr. Schultz worked hard. He got a scholarship to a

WASHINGTON — Spring break was never this dull. First Lady Michelle Obama’s kids finally hit the wall on their whirlwind visit to China, showing signs they’ve nearly reached their limit tagging along with mom as she visits site after site on what’s billed as a “person-to-person” tour. Accompanied by Malia, 15, and Sasha, 12, the first lady on Monday toured Xi’an, an ancient city in the ancestral province of Chinese President Xi Jinping. They inspected the city’s 600-year-old wall, a day after touring the Great Wall near Beijing. Photos show Sasha looking like she’d rather be back home with her pals than hitting the

The Obama administration is prepared to give prospective Obamacare enrollees another half-month to signup for insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act website, healthcare.gov, treating the law´s March 31 regulatory deadline as a formality for Americans who claim they tried in earnest to sign up in time. During a March 12 congressional hearing, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told Texas Republican Rep. Kevin Brady that there would be no such extensions. ´Are you going to delay the open enrollment beyond March 31?´ Brady asked. ´No, sir,´ she replied. On the same day, Julie Bataille, a spokeswoman for the

As the U.S. Supreme Court weighed the constitutionality of a contraception coverage mandate Tuesday morning, a federal appeals court heard a separate legal challenge that could have much more sweeping implications for the future of President Obama´s health care law. And if the oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit are any indication, it’s time for the White House to start sweating over a lawsuit that up until now has flown relatively below the radar. At issue in the case are the subsidies that the federal government provides for individuals purchasing insurance through Obamacare. Though the text

On her 12 p.m. ET hour MSNBC show on Tuesday, host Andrea Mitchell interrogated attorney Mark Rienzi for representing Hobby Lobby in the Supreme Court case against the ObamaCare contraception mandate: "What right do they have, again, to interfere with medical decisions by women?...I mean, this gets to the whole issue of women´s health and why should women be discriminated against in ways that other medical beneficiaries are not?" [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump] Rienzi pushed back: "No one´s discriminating against women, Andrea, all they´re saying is that, you´re right, these are personal decisions,
