Republican probe of Benghazi
attacks turns to Hillary Clinton

Washington Post, by Philip Rucker

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 5/8/2013 6:52:16 AM

Republican lawmakers, who have spent months seeking to tie President Obama to last year’s deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, are increasingly focusing their probe on a new target: former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton. The GOP-led investigation of the Sept. 11, 2012, assaults that killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three others now centers heavily on the State Department and whether officials there deliberately misled the public about the nature of the assault. Three State Department officials are scheduled to testify before a House committee on Wednesday about the Benghazi attack and its aftermath.

How much is obama paying you Philip? If you ever decide to remove your lips from obama´s cheeks, there is a product that will neutralize the superglue that is attaching you to obama. It is called acetone.

{Just doing my part to help the sycophants that surround obama.)

Hmmmmm, the embassies are a State Department function, HRC was Secretary of State. What was the "lawmakers" first clue in making the connection? She will eventually take the fall, but Fuzzhead, being CIC of the armed forces that never made the show, is the real criminal.

And don´t let the media say that this is a political witchhunt by Republicans.

Obama made this a "Political" item, when he decided it was better to cover it up to win an election !!!!

Limbaugh theorem - Before Obama went to bed he told Hillary and Panetta to handle it so what happened can´t possibly be his fault! I know nothing will happen to any of them. I don´t know how they can sleep at night having let those Americans die just to protect a Presidential campaign. Life has always been cheap to leftists. The ends justifies the means in practice. Very sad days in America.

Amen #1!!!!! Philip Rucker just made a donkey´s butt of himself. How dare the Republican lawmakers tie the President of the United States and Secretary of State to the "US diplomatic mission in Benghazi". Zero and Hillary are responsible for much more important issues, like anti-Islam videos and gay basketball players, and such!

Nice job Philip Rucker and Washington Post. Not.

Just read that Brian Williams is one of THE most trusted newsmen in America, which is a LOL JOKE! I will put $ on it,that he, and his fellow main stream media t.v. and newspaper folk only mention this hearing to batter the whistle blowers and to provide cover for Hillary and Obama. The very FACT that Obama signed off at 5 p.m. on 9/11 last year and went to bed so he could be fresh for a Texas fundraiser the next morning says it all. Williams may be "trusted" but you have to ask, trusted by whom? Not by anyone who is the slightest bit informed, which is why I never bother with network news anymore.

“They’re [Republicans] no longer going after the White House, perhaps because the president’s not running for reelection, and they’re going after the former secretary of state, perhaps because she will be.”

It´s staggering how Democrats never, never imagine that another Democrat could actually be at fault. To them, it´s always mean, nasty Republicans out to score political points.

Have Democrats looked in the mirror recently regarding their smears on Palin, Bachmann, Allen West, Clarence Thomas, Romney, Dr. Carson et al? The slightest scent that a conservative will run for POTUS brings out the long knives -- it doesn´t matter that the candidates may be good for America. If they´re bad for liberalism, that´s all that matters.

Notice how the writer portrays the Republicans as nothing but political all the way thru the story? It´s not that the administration is hiding something, you understand; it´s that the Republicans are trying to stir things up for political gain! Flip the sides and the Dems would be portrayed as just wanting to get to the truth while the Republicans would be the stonewallers. It´s how it´s done in The Post.

I lived in the D.C. area in 1972-74 and I read this same newspaper´s daily reporting on what became known as Watergate.
What I don´t remember was the WaPo reporting how Democrats were ´seeking to tie´ Nixon to the break-in or ´focusing their probe on a new target.´
Benghazi´s being reported as a political witchhunt. Watergate was reported as the righteous hunt for truth and the American Way.
Media bias goes way, way back.

They´ll use classic socialist dodges. If they can´t win on facts and timelines they´ll try to eclipse with other agenda, project, say it´s a witch hunt, it´s because Hillary is (kind of) a woman, investigation is only because she´s running for president. After all the lies she´s already been caught in, she and her cronies have quite a bit of mopping up to do. ´ can´t wait to hear Elijah Cummings and the sad-brow face, in Academy Award mode for his usual "in the name of humanity" disposition on investigations into Democrats. Heartless, just heartless, lol.

I believe that Clinton certainly did leave office over Benghazi. Hopefully the Repubs will be aggressive. The butt kissing foreplay/speeches will hopefully not be so prevalent this time-hard to take.

Hillary is like Darth Vader tumbling in outer space in a damaged space capsule, just waiting. Oh she´s coming back, definitely coming back, once she thinks she´s out of harms way.

How far will reporters go to protect this administration? Here is an example.
Last night, Andrea Mitchell was on Chrissie Matthews, and she said that the request for a show of force by having an F 16 flyover was impossible to accomplish, because ´it takes a couple of hours to get an F 16 into the air.´
That is so stupid, it amazes me. We had F 16 aircraft into the air in a couple of minutes, flown by Air National Guard pilots, on 9/11/01, who had been authorized to shoot down the aircraft that crashed in Pennsylvania. Every military unit has pilots and aircraft ready to scramble and take off.
Shame on you, Andrea. An shame on you, Chrissie, for not correcting Andrea.

Typical WaPo tripe. They are trying to stop a train that´s left the station. Their feeble attempt to shape the story...

"The GOP-led investigation of the Sept. 11, 2012, assaults that killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three others now centers heavily on the State Department and whether officials there deliberately misled the public about the nature of the assault."
"To Democrats, the efforts amount to a baseless and less-than-subtle crusade..."

Sorry. It´s about much more than the aftermath. All this proves to me is that Democrats and their media are all complicit.

"If Hillary Clinton is not responsible for the before, during and after mistakes... it´s somebody close," Issa said. "There certainly are plenty of people close to the former secretary who knew, and apparently were part of the problem."

The focus needs to be (1) finding out who committed the slahter AND (2) understanding why our government´s response to the crisis was so incredibly poor.

On the first point: No one has been brought to justice so far -- and it´s been "so long ago" that his happened, according to the White House spokesperson.

On the second point: We cannot yet learn from mistakes made, and therefore prevent it from happening again (something Hillary says she wants to do), BECAUSE the administration refuses to be forthcoming with the details of what occurred.

The politics here is being played in largest part by the Democrats and their defenders in the LSM. The Republicans may play politics with it, but that is secondary or tertiary to finding out THE TRUTH!

By-the-way, scandals SHOULD have political consequences for the bad actors. Hillary should pay a political price, if not a legal one.

I guess the Washington Post is uninterested in the truth.

If the truth and nothing but the truth had been provided by the Obama Administration there would be no need for investigations and Congressional Hearings.

Truth is subject to no statute of limitations and no political bias. The left does not acknowledge that truth, based on facts and logic, is more important than promoting their failed ideological vision.

Two quotes from the great Thomas Sowell come to mind:

"It’s bad enough that so many people believe things without any evidence. What is worse is that some people have no conception of evidence and regard facts as just someone else´s opinion."

and

"It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance."

The mission in this madness has yet to be fully explained. What was being undertaken in Benghazi was not consulate business.
They were arming the Muslim Brotherhood, aka Syrian rebels, with Quadaffi´s leftover weapons, bought and collected in the warehouses on the compound. Chris Stephens was the bagman. The buyers in the MB kidnapped the Ambassador, raped him, stole the weapons and the money. Now was that also part of the plan, the excuse, and was he sacrificied to make it happen?
Will the ten foot pole be long enough to touch this? I don´t think so.

One big problem with Congressional investigations is that the questions are ask by lifetime politicians. And their questions are generally phrased with political overtones. If Issa really wanted to get to the bottom of things, he would hire a good, conservative, prosecutor to do the questioning. Someone who is accustomed to asking probing question of witnesses. But, they never do. So it all ends up being a political showcase. Sad.

Drought -- and neighbors --

LAS VEGAS — Deep beneath Lake Mead, a 23-foot-tall tunnel-boring machine grinds through stubborn bedrock in a billion-dollar effort to make sure water continues flowing to this thirsty resort city. For six years, the Southern Nevada Water Authority has been building an intake straw below the reservoir´s two existing pipes. Due for completion in fall 2015, critics say it may not provide a long-term solution. An ongoing drought and the Colorado River´s stunted flow have shrunk Lake Mead to its lowest level in generations. The reservoir, which supplies 90% of Las Vegas´ water, is ebbing as though a plug had been

In an op-ed published in the Boston Globe on Easter Sunday and posted on the State Department website, Secretary of State John Kerry recalled his days as an altar boy and pointed out that he is “the first Catholic Secretary of State in 33 years.” Alexander Haig, who served as secretary of state to President Ronald Reagan from January 1981 to July 1982, was also a Catholic. Last month, I traveled to Rome with President Obama, where I was honored to meet His Holiness Pope Francis,” said Kerry. “As an altar boy six decades ago, I never imagined that I

A man was charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery in a Friday shooting that left a 40-year-old man in the Brainerd neighborhood with six gunshot wounds. Deontae C. Jones, 18, was held on $1 million bail after appearing in Cook County bond court Sunday afternoon. Prosecutors said Jones approached a man who was outside his residence on the 9300 block of S. May St., checking to see if his recycling bin was full when Jones approached the man and fired at him. The victim began running away and fell to the ground, said Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Naheda

The first family attended Easter services Sunday at the Nineteenth Street Baptist Church, a Northwest Washington congregation that welcomed the Obamas on the eve of the president’s first inauguration. The Obamas’ motorcade left the White House shortly before 10 a.m. (Snip) The motorcade pulled up to the church, about four miles away, just after 10. The first family arrived through a tented entrance and sat in the second pew in a mostly, but not completely filled church, joining an estimated 250 others. The president wore a light khaki suit. The first lady was wearing a cream dress and sweater. Daughters

CLEARWATER — In the mid-1970s, Wayne Phillips saw a television program telling the story of the Shroud of Turin, a centuries-old linen cloth that bears the image of a crucified man. At first, he was miffed. Years of Catholic schooling — Jesuit High School in Tampa and Notre Dame University — and he had never known about this artifact? (He would later learn that it was a delicate subject at the Vatican.) A doctor, he has a curious mind. A mind shaped by logic and by science. But as a Catholic, he understands some beliefs are still a mystery. He

WASHINGTON — IT’S weird to be jealous of your car. But I am. Men look at my car with such naked lust, their eyes devouring the curves and chrome, that I often feel as though I’m intruding on an intimate moment. Women like it, too. They sometimes grin and give it a thumbs up as it growls by, and one girlfriend fondly refers to it as “the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Goddess car.” But the icon evokes a special feeling in men. It’s the Proustian madeleine of cars, stirring old dreams and new. Guys sometimes follow in the American beauty’s

California’s unemployment rate is rotten and holding steady. In March, according to the Los Angeles Times, the rate was 8.1%. In February, it was exactly the same. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the state only added 11,800 net new jobs in March, many of them in construction, government, education, and health services. The greatest gains were in professional and business services, with 3,100 new positions. But the jobs numbers in hospitality, manufacturing, and leisure dipped, and the biggest drop came in financial activities, as the slowing rate of mortgages forced banks to fire employees. For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. If the Rev. John DeBonville could preach a sermon to lift the souls of churchgoers across America, his message would be simple: Stop dressing so tacky for church. DeBonville has heard about the “come as you are” approach to dressing down for Sunday service, but he says the Sabbath is getting too sloppy. When he scans the pews of churches, DeBonville sees rows of people dressed in their Sunday worst. They saunter into church in baggy shorts, flip-flop sandals, tennis shoes and grubby T-shirts. Some even slide into the pews carrying coffee in plastic foam containers as if they’re going to Starbucks. “It’s like

President Obama asserts that 8 million people have signed up for Obamacare, as though that were something to be proud of. In fact, Obamacare has always been a fiasco from a fiscal perspective–a black hole of subsidies and expanded Medicaid, with largely fictitious mechanisms in place to pay for it. As the number of subsidized participants grows, the disaster gets worse. Charles Blahous explains: Our national discussion…is missing the truly significant story here; what is unfolding before our eyes is a colossal fiscal disaster, poised to haunt legislators and taxpayers for decades to come. It is quite possible that the ACA is

"No, absolutely not," the November midterm election is not a referendum on President Obama and his policies, Democrat Party Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) told NBC´s "Meet the Press" on Sunday. "[T]hese elections, particularly the Senate elections, are referendums on the candidates running," she said. Asked about vulnerable Democrats who have criticized President Obama´s flawed healthcare law, Wasserman Schultz said they are running their own race. "They have to talk about and focus on the issues that are important to their constituents. And what´s also true is, if you look at the success rate and the track record of

“On the third day, he rose again.” That line, from the Nicene Creed, is a foundational statement of Christian belief. It declares that three days after Jesus died on the cross, he was resurrected, a glimmer of the eternal life promised to believers. It’s the heart of the Easter story in seven little words. But how that statement is interpreted is the source of some of the deepest rifts in Christianity — and a stumbling block for some Christians, and more than a few skeptics. Did Jesus literally come back from the dead in a bodily resurrection, as many traditionalist

If expanding the guest list to include Michelle Obama at graduation for high school students in the Kansas capital city means fewer seats for friends and family, some students and their parents would prefer the first lady not attend. A furor over what the Topeka school district considers an honor has erupted after plans were announced for Obama to address a combined graduation ceremony for five area high schools next month an 8,000-seat arena. For some, it was the prospect of a tight limit on the number of seats allotted to each graduate. For others, it was the notion that Obama´s speech,

New York Times columnist David Brooks said Sunday that he believes President Obama’s foreign policy isn’t “tough enough” and that he has a “manhood problem” when it comes to dealing with leaders such as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian President Bashar Assad. Mr. Brooks expanded on Sen. Bob Corker’s earlier comments on “Fox News Sunday” that Mr. Obama is “creating an air of permissiveness” with regards to Russia. (Snip) “And let’s face it, Obama, whether deservedly or not, does have a — I’ll say it crudely — but a manhood problem in the Middle East,” he continued.
