Uncertainty Is the
Enemy of Recovery

Wall Street Journal, by Bill McNabb

Original Article

Posted By:Desert Fox, 4/28/2013 6:30:53 PM

Anyone hoping for signs of a healthy economic recovery was disappointed by lower-than-expected GDP growth for the first quarter of 2013—a mere 2.5%, far short of the forecast 3.2%. Meanwhile, the stock market continues to soar, hitting record levels in recent weeks. It´s a striking disconnect, and one that is discouraging and confusing for Americans as they seek to earn a living and save for the future. Companies and small businesses are also dealing with the same paradox. Many are in good shape and have money to spend. So why aren´t they pumping more capital back into the economy,

One of the reasons growth is so anemic is investors are dumping capital into emerging markets overseas where the businesses don´t have to deal with unions, regulators and trial lawyers. They´re also pro capitalism.

One of the fastest growing sectors in this country is home healthcare for the elderly but the unions want to ruin that by organizing those workers.Same thing with daycare which is barely affordable already from high insurance rates.

The federal reserve is holding interest rates near zero -money has to go somewhere, so it goes to the stock market.
This is Econ 101, not a mystery.

Everything is fine. Just ask biden and obama. Recovery summer part 5 is coming up, the debt is not a problem, spending is not a problem, half the country on some kind of welfare is not a problem, millions and millions out of work is not a problem, the obamacare disaster is not a problem. And while all economic numbers are lousy that really isn´t a problem either. It´s just all those nasty conservatives and nonbelievers of the obama way who are holding back recovery.

Obama and his cohorts need a stagnant economy. If the economy were allowed to pick up interest rates would rise, and the cost of interest on the national debt would consume the budget. He´s got to keep the economy under a 4% growth rate to keep the cost of his borrowing down.

All his programs are nothing but reparations by another name.

We are doomed.

Incessant "antifascist" propaganda from Moscow, baseless claims of attacks against Russians in Ukraine, incitement of Russian-speakers in eastern Ukraine, Russian troops without insignia seizing official buildings in Crimea, a stage-managed illegal plebiscite there and then its annexation by Russia, assurances from President Vladimir Putin that he has no further territorial designs in Europe (though, alas, he may be forced to intervene elsewhere to protect ethnic Russians)—yes, it all has the disturbing ring of the 1930s. Isn´t this where nationalism leads—to fascism and war? That is a common interpretation of Europe´s recent crises. It is also, coincidentally, Mr. Putin´s interpretation of events in

Liberals are in an uproar over a contest for the most popular children´s book author because conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been chosen as one of the contestants. Each year, the Children’s Book Council (CBC) sponsors its Every Child A Reader program, allowing kids to vote for the year’s most popular children´s book author. If Hillary Clinton runs for president in 2016 her top selling point will be — not her experience, not her competency, or intelligence — the fact that if she would be the first U.S. president with ovaries. A new Gallup poll released Friday found that when asked what the best or most positive thing about a Hillary Clinton presidency would be, 18 percent cited the fact that she would be the first woman president. The second most popular answer, at nine percent, was her experience, specifically her foreign policy experience. Other positives, that netted at least five percent of respondents, were that

With Sunday marking the fourth anniversary of the Affordable Care Act being signed into law, it´s worth revisiting the initial purpose of the president´s signature legislation: Universal coverage was the main goal. Four years later, not even the White House pretends that this goal will be realized. Most of those who were uninsured before the law was passed will remain uninsured, according to the Congressional Budget Office. Democrats also fixated on another goal: protection for people with pre-existing conditions. One of the first things the new law did was create federal risk pools so that people who had been denied coverage

Is Barack Obama simply too busy to be Chief Executive of the United States? Apparently. One of the primary functions of the president is to keep the nation safe, to preserve it from its enemies. To do that effectively, one would actually have to maintain something of a consistent level of attention to the moving pieces that directly influence how future events will unfold. None other than the truly sycophantic thinks for a second that President Obama cares a whit for anything that does not involve fundamentally altering the social composition of this country. Or golf. Black students are more likely to be suspended from U.S. public schools — even as tiny preschoolers. Black children represent about 18 percent of children in preschool programs in schools, but they make up almost half of the preschoolers who are suspended more than once, the report said.
