CNN in talks with Newt Gingrich,
Stephanie Cutter for new
´Crossfire´ show

Politico, by Dylan Byers

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 4/23/2013 4:45:05 PM

Earlier this month, news broke that CNN was looking to relaunch Crossfire, the famous debate show that pitted two pundits -- one liberal, one conservative -- against one another on the political issues of the day. Sources now tell POLITICO that the network is in discussions with former Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich and former Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter about roles on the show. "They are talking to Cutter and to Gingrich," a source familiar with the discussions said. "[Cutter] is in discussions; Newt is in discussions too," another source confirmed.

I am sure he will have Calista getting free plugs at every moment. I like Newt, very smart.

The problem with these shows is that the liberal is always so obnoxious, I can´t watch it. I loved the conservative on Crossfire (can´t remember the names) but I hated that liberal witch (she was a movie critic, I think from Life Magazine?) I turned it off.

Well if Newt begins his counter point with the old Saturday Night Live spoof of Point- Counterpoint line of "Stephanie, you ignorant (woman of ill repute)". Then I might watch it.

Surely, Mr. Newt is not so desperate as to associate with "low blow" Stephanie Cutter....

She needs to go where lying and trying to create a new reality devoid of facts are appreciated.

I´ll wager that Newt will dump Calista for Stephanie Cutter. It will be like Carville and Matlin. What the heck, what´s another divorce for Newt.

Reply 14 - Posted by: JustCause, 4/23/2013 6:12:14 PM     (No. 9293105)

Wouldn´t watch it.

Even if Newt was to take her argument apart, the simple fact that they are discussing a Liberal Feeling and giving it air time is infuriating to me.

Newt could use facts to refute any liberal, progressive, democrat argument and it won´t mean anything. The liberal will have won the argument with the LoFo voter because they yelled louder and longer.

Have you ever tried having a civil conversation over a contentious issue with a liberal? They start yelling and calling you names so loud and fast they don´t seem to take a breath. You can´t get a second of their brain time to explain your facts.

So why are Newt and cutter signing to a network nobody watches? The only worse network would be MSNBC.

Newt can be great, but he also often turns Joe Scarborough occasionally. I´d love to see him rip into Cutter with her outrageous lies, but if he did that effectively at all, his contract would be pulled and he´d be replaced by a "kinder, gentler" conservative.

Reply 18 - Posted by: Chuzzles, 4/23/2013 6:51:15 PM     (No. 9293169)

As long as Newt doesn´t roll over and cave with a ´whatever you say dear´ attitude, I think watching Newt make verbal pancakes out of Ms. Cutter´s liberal view would be very amusing and depending on the subject, very entertaining. The problem I see for CNN is the fact they need a liberal who doesn´t mind getting pasted every week.

Reply 19 - Posted by: Penney, 4/23/2013 7:04:20 PM     (No. 9293187)

Cutter is ´tone deaf´ to demonstrable facts. Mr. Newt will be wasting his time with, ´jello,´ Cutter.

Crossfire and other shows of this ilk are nothing more than useless exercises in masochism for viewers. Only serve to get your BP up while settling zilch. May as well listen to Hannity debating his good little liberal buddy, Juan Williams.

Will always remember Newt and Nancy Pelosi doing a joint appearance for Global Luke Warming. Unlike some I don´t hate Nancy. I think she is the most attractive 90 year old woman I´ve ever seen. Undocumented immigrants with temporary legal status soon will be allowed to pay in-state tuition rates at all Ohio public colleges as long as they meet other residency requirements. Until now, most of the state’s public two- and four-year schools have charged those students out-of-state or international rates that can be as much as three times what Ohio students pay. Today, Ohio Board of Regents Chancellor John Carey sent a letter notifying the state’s college presidents about the change, after state Attorney General Mike DeWine determined that immigrant students now may qualify for in-state tuition.

Press Secretary Jay Carney was asked at the daily briefing about Obama´s repeated claim -- which he asserted most recently during a speech in Tennessee on Tuesday -- that Washington is getting distracted by phony scandals. Asked what the president was referring to, Carney listed the scandals

I never thought the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case deserved nearly the attention it got. But reasonable people can disagree about that. What strikes me as unconscionable, however, is the way the supposedly objective media have not only sensationalized a tragedy but at times appear to deliberately bend the facts to fit a desired story line. Maybe it started with the use of pictures of a younger Martin or with the sudden embrace of the term "white Hispanic" to describe Zimmerman in order to more easily paint him as a racist. A new poll indicates that the former Alaska governor is about as popular in the state as Barack Obama — which is to say, not very popular at all. But even more surprising, while the former vice presidential candidate has made Alaska a central part of her public image, the state´s residents split on the question of whether Palin is all that Alaskan.
