Farrakhan son is part-time
Harvey cop but hasn’t
worked a shift in 4 years

Chicago Sun-Times, by Kim Janssen

Original Article

The Nation of Islam styles him its “Supreme Captain” — a potential successor to his controversial father, Minister Louis Farrakhan. But when he’s working for the Harvey Police Department, Mustapha Farrakhan is just a regular part-time cop. If, that is, he’s actually working for the Harvey Police Department. Farrakhan, 52, certainly has a police badge from the crime-plagued south suburb. He drives an unmarked Harvey Police squad

Comments:
He has a gun, a badge, and runs escort duty stopping traffic lights for Louies ´´motorcade´´

I kid you not.

This is racketeering - plain and simple. From Wikipedia

"A racket is a service that is fraudulently offered to solve a problem, such as for a problem that does not actually exist, will not be affected, or would not otherwise exist. Conducting a racket is racketeering.[1] Particularly, the potential problem may be caused by the same party that offers to solve it, although that fact may be concealed, with the specific intent to engender continual patronage for this party. A prototype is the protection racket, wherein a person or group indicates that they could protect a store from potential damage, damage that the same person or group or would otherwise inflict, while the correlation of threat and protection may be more or less deniably veiled, distinguishing it from the more direct act of extortion.

Racketeering is often associated with organized crime, and the term was coined by the Employers´ Association of Chicago in June 1927 in a statement about the influence of organized crime in the Teamsters union.[2]"

So all a Chicagoan has to do is get a no-show job with the Harvey police department and they´d finally be allowed to carry a concealed weapon.

With violent crime rate 4 times the rest of Illinois, I guess cops are busy or are helping. Halstead Street makes a good conduit for fencing property and arms.

This is an old Chicago (and downstate Illinois) dodge around the ridiculous gun laws in the Land of Lincoln. The only way to legally carry a concealed weapon is to be a cop (or, more commonly, a reserve deputy sheriff),so you prevail upon your buddy the police chief or county sheriff to make you a part-time police officer or reserve deputy. I have to admit, though, this is the first time I ever heard of pert-timer with a department gun or a squad car.

The Fire Island resort of Saltaire wants to seize private property — using taxpayer money. World War II vet Frank Whitney is locked in a legal battle with officials who want to take his Saltaire Market grocery by eminent domain in order to build their own updated version. And the upscale village may increase property taxes to do it, raising as much as $2.5 million to buy and rebuild the market, which was damaged during Hurricane Sandy. Whitney’s family says it wants to fix the store — the village’s only commercial property — and has the money to do so, but it accuses

Last summer Ellen Holzman and Meredith Vezina, a married gay couple in San Diego County, got kicked off their long-term Kaiser health plan, for which they´d been paying more than $1,300 a month. The cause wasn´t the Affordable Care Act, as far as they knew. They´d been living outside Kaiser´s service area, and the health plan had decided to tighten its rules. That´s when they discovered the chilly hazards of dependence on the individual health insurance market. When they applied for a replacement policy with Anthem Blue Cross of California, Ellen, 59, disclosed that she might have carpal tunnel syndrome. She

Wal-Mart, the nation’s largest employer, announced Monday that 35,000 part-time employees will soon be moved to full-time status, entitling them to the full healthcare benefits that were scheduled to be denied them as a result of Wal-Mart’s efforts to avoid the requirements of Obamacare. While some analysts believe that the move comes as Wal-Mart is attempting to deal with the negative view many Americans have of its worker benefits program, a closer look reveals the real reason for the shift—

Moody´s rating agency has lowered the outlook for health insurers from stable to negative, blaming ObamaCare. Few Americans will shed tears for insurance companies. But the Moody´s announcement is a warning sign to taxpayers. They´ll be getting clobbered. Section 1342 of the Affordable Care Act forces taxpayers to make insurers whole for most of the losses incurred selling ObamaCare exchange plans through 2016. The bailout is designed to conceal the failure of the president´s signature health law until he is out of office. No one in the Obama administration talked up the advantages of bailing out insurers. The charges are plainly stated in a letter to the general counsel of the Port Authority from the lawyer for former Port Authority official David Wildstein. The mystery is why Wildstein and attorney, Alan Zegas, are saying it now.
