Focus Turns to Hunt
for Bombing Motive

Wall Street Journal, by Devlin Barrett & Gary Fields*

Waterton, Mass. - Investigators in the Boston Marathon bombing case shifted their focus Saturday to hunting for a motive and preparing charges after apprehending a 19-year-old college student Friday night. The charges against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who remained hospitalized with severe injuries, could be filed this weekend, but it might take longer as law enforcement officials continue investigating numerous crime scenes in and around Boston. Investigators were also eager to talk to Mr. Tsarnaev, who was listed in serious condition after being badly injured early Friday morning in a firefight

classic case of SJS: Sudden Jihad Syndrome.

Typically young and male, most commonly immigrants or long-term visitors but may also be first-timers, who after what turns out to be a muttering campaign months or years long "suddenly" acts out.

In this case we are talking about Islamics, of course, not that the pattern is so much different from other people with other interests who were typically not raised in a tradition of violence and hatred.

It is not "rational" in most western terms, but it is not that rare either currently or historically. Motive, forsooth.

The motive?

They couldn´t persuade every Christian and Jew in the country to commit suicide-en-masse for crimes against Islam and they were infuriated and exploding with rage that they were forced to use other means.

Islamic jihadi´s are trained and compelled to kill infidels, especially Americans.

Probably are much better and pithier ways to express it, but I thought this would be a start.

Whoa... The focus should have been on how do we keep our citizens safe from terrorists. The focus now should be to identify how we let a refugee, about whom we had received an alert from a foreign intelligence agency, plan and execute a terror attack. We know the motivation, why did we let it happen? How will we keep it from happening again. You can´t counter terrorism if you don´t accept that it exists.

I lived in an Arab country for three years while accompanying my husband on military assignment. Got to know many local women. They do think that everyone should live under Sharia Law and anyone who does not follow Allah should be killed. These are women who are kind and generous in many ways and would not strap on an explosive themselves but they do admire the ones who do and they help raise money for their families. It is very hard for Westerners to understand but the truth is that Islam is not compatible wth Democracy because it is not just a religion - it is also a form of government that is the antithesis of Democracy.

Just how simple do I have to make it? The absolute goal of ALL Muslems is to convert, kill, or subjugate every person in the world.
For 1400 years, they have been trying to do this in the West, but the West has been way too slow to respond to conversion (except for a few blacks), so their only option, as they see it, it to kill us. Forget about all your terrorist organizations. There is only one terrorist organization....Islam.

The Federal minimum wage has been frozen at $3.35 an hour for six years. In some states, it now compares unfavorably even with welfare benefits available without working. It´s no wonder then that Edward Kennedy, the new chairman of the Senate Labor Committee, is being pressed by organized labor to battle for an increase. No wonder, but still a mistake. Anyone working in America surely deserves a better living standard than can be managed on $3.35 an hour. But there´s a virtual consensus among economists that the minimum wage is an idea whose time has passed.

How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. David Letterman joked on air that Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter had had sex with Alex Rodriguez during a New York Yankees game. There was no downside to that either. President Obama tosses around “sweetie” as he wishes. No problem with that. No one believes Barack could be condescending to women.
