A Stirring Send-Off For
the Iron Lady – And No
One Missed the Obamas

PJ Media, by Mike McNally

After all the controversy – it was too much, and too expensive; it would be marred by protests – this morning’s funeral for Lady Thatcher in London was a splendid and memorable affair, which did her memory, and her country, proud. It was a moving, dignified and pitch-perfect occasion: unmistakably British, and a fitting send-off for the country’s greatest post-war prime minister. Big Ben fell silent – for the first time since the funeral of wartime leader Winston Churchill – and tens of thousands of admirers lined the streets to applaud Lady Thatcher’s coffin

The article reports that the granddaughter has a Texas accent. This Texan believes that if Baroness Thatcher would have chosen a place in America for her granddaughter, it would have been Texas. The spirits are similar. About 20 years hence, a Governor Thatcher might be nice.

Obama is an anti-colonialist, even though colonialism has helped about every country that started as a colony, especially of Great Britain.

So, its no wonder Obama, Mooch, and the Moochettes didn´t take a vacation to Europe disguised as a trip to The Iron Lady´s funeral. They weren´t missed, and the proceedings were the better for them not being there!

I just watched it on-line. What a moving, inspirational funeral and so properly done for a great lady.
May she rest in peace!

P.S. I noticed Dick and Lynne Cheney were in one of the front rows just past the 40-minute point in the version I saw. Very low key, nice touch!

I thought it was a beautiful service and it only would have been marred by the presence of that piece of ´human´ excrement currently defiling the White House.

As to the author´s reference to Amanda Thatcher´s soft Texas accent, I listened to her reading twice...Maybe my ears are going bad but what I heard was a generally neutral American accent and the young lady was being very precise in her enunciations. I thought she did an admirable job and handled herself very well.

A beautiful, dignified, precisely punctual funeral as only the British can produce. It was wonderful that neither the Obama or Biden families were there. Vice-President and Mrs. Cheney were there along with other great Americans and their presence represented America perfectly with respect, honor, and grace.

He sounded like a wounded child who didn´t get HIS way... I expected him to stamp his feet and shake his finger at US. A lot like bubba clinton when he raised his bony finger and lied through his teeth, -- "I´m gonna say this one more time -- I did not have sex with that woman"....
Yeah -- right -- you loser.....

What a joke!!

Conversely -- the Iron Lady got exactly what she deserved, praise and honor and a glorious send/off. Even the Queen and Prince Philip came to send her off.

So -- OUR loser snubbed the "Lady". No one cares....

If the facts were truly published, Zero and the Mooch feel completely inadequate when surrounded by talented and classy people (which doesn´t include the Hollywood crowd who are gutter people). Therefore they decided to vote not-present.

What´s pity that Baroness that her didn´t have the opportunity to shred the Ø in one of her marvelous sessions before the House of Commons. She would have intellectually destroyed him, politically spanked him and sent him to be without supper. FTA: In what was seen as a snub both to Lady Thatcher’s memory and Britain’s present Conservative-led government, President Obama declined to send a high-level representative.

Thankfully, the mean pettiness of the current POTUS served as a blessing for all who love and revere the memory of this wonderful lady and all that her good life meant to the world.
Remember what Joseph said to his brothers in Genesis 50:20?
("As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good...")

Their presence would have marred a beautiful tribute. Those of us Americans who love the Brits and Great Britain were there in spirit. We were represented much better by those Americans who were mentioned as being there to honor her memory.

I very much enjoyed watching the funeral live in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. Of course, I was saddened by the death of Mrs. Thatcher. Yet the funeral bolstered my faith in Jesus Christ and the promise that the dead in Christ shall rise on the Last Day.

This hymn text, sung during the service, has been running through my head non-stop since the funeral. It is a great Anglican/Episcopal hymn we sing from time to time in my parish:

He who would valiant be ´gainst all disaster,
Let him in constancy follow the Master.
There´s no discouragement shall make him once relent
His first avowed intent to be a pilgrim.

Another line: "No foes shall stay his might; though he with giants fight,
He will make good his right to be a pilgrim."

LONDON — For the past three decades, many Britons had hoped the rigid class system that defined their country from Dickens to "Downton Abbey" was finally dying. Now they fear that class, their old bugbear, is back on the rise. From 1979, Britain was led for more than a decade by Margaret Thatcher, a grocer´s daughter, and then by John Major, the son of a music-hall entertainer. The current leader, David Cameron, is a descendent of King William IV whose Cabinet is stacked with men, like him, from the country´s toniest private schools and Oxford and Cambridge universities. From its inception, the strategy behind the Obama administration’s implementation of ObamaCare has been simple: to frontload the benefits and postpone the pain and costs of this massive government intrusion into the private sector for as long as possible. This deceitful approach enabled President Obama run for reelection in 2012 on the spurious promise of extending insurance coverage to the poor and those with pre-existing conditions without being held accountable for the problems with the law that would only become apparent in his second term. Late this afternoon, the Obama administration decided to delay for yet another year the health-care mandate that companies provide health insurance to their employees, this time to 2016. “It’s a double whammy here,” Charles Krauthammer said on Special Report tonight. The 2016 Democratic presidential field is likely to run to the left of President Obama, partly because candidates will try to distance themselves from his political baggage while jockeying for an increasingly liberal base of voters, analysts predict. Prospective candidates and their surrogates insist it’s too early to tell what kind of standing Mr. Obama will have with voters and whether he will be seen as damaged goods the way President Bush was for Republicans in 2008. But discontent is brewing within the Democratic Party over what some see as Mr. Obama’s concessions to Republicans. Those Democratic voters will be

The long term consequences are unknowable, but in the meantime, with a far left president with a dicey past, it is producing some highly amusing results. Last night, President Obama explained to Bob Costas of NBC Sports why he wasn´t attending the Sochi Olympics, but the substance of what he had to say was lost in the controversy that erupted on Twitter over whether or not he was stoned. BAGHDAD — A group of Sunni militants attending a suicide bombing training class at a camp north of Baghdad were killed on Monday when their commander unwittingly conducted a demonstration with a belt that was packed with explosives, army and police officials said. The militants belonged to a group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, which is fighting the Shiite-dominated army of the Iraqi government, mostly in Anbar Province. But they are also linked to bomb attacks elsewhere and other fighting that has thrown Iraq deeper into sectarian violence.

Forty-six percent of those polled said they would vote for Ms. Grimes, who has campaigned primarily on bringing jobs to Kentucky and raising the minimum wage, while just 42 percent said they would vote for Mr. McConnell, the Courier-Journal reported. “When he says that raising the minimum wage is the last thing he wants to do, Mitch McConnell apparently thinks that over 60 percent of Kentuckians are wrong. Only 32 percent oppose

Every year, prior to Valentine’s Day, the Vermont Teddy Bear Co. runs ads advising guys that the most romantic thing in the world – the best gift a love-struck guy can give his girl – is a teddy bear. This year’s ad features “Big Hunka Love Bear.” Big Hunka is 4½ feet tall, and the company says he’s “stuffed with more than enough love to last a lifetime.” Hey, giving your girl a cute little teddy bear for Valentine’s Day could be a sweet thing to do. But, it’s the way these ads are put together that cause the creep-out: the girl

Powerful winds in the Pacific Ocean, which have driven surface heat deep underwater, could be the reason behind the current ‘pause’ in global warming. This is according to a joint Australian and U.S. study which has looked at why there has been a slowdown in the planet’s global average surface temperature over the past decade. Their research shows that trade winds in central and eastern parts of the Pacific have caused warm surface water to sink to the ocean´s depths, reducing the amount of heat in the atmosphere. Last year, scientists on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said the pace of

Over the course of the last year, as the president’s signature accomplishment debuted with a

Michelle Obama´s lust for luxury has always been a bit of a problem for her husband and Democrats in general. Jetting off to five star resorts with a large entourage has too much dissonance with the rhetoric denouncing inequality currently in favor with the left. But the First Lady has now outdone herself, and because a picture is worth a thousand words, the damage may be a bit more serious than the occasional grumble over designer shoes and livin´ large. After all, millions of Americans are mired in unemployment, underemployment, and hopelessness. So in the face of all this, Michelle

Poverty and unemployment are at near-record levels, the economy is stalled, and a record 47 million Americans are on food stamps, yet aides for first lady Michelle Obama’s tweeted out a picture of her two dogs apparently dining at a table laid with crystal and china. “Bone appétit!,” the aides added to the insensitive tweet, using the language of France’s queen Marie Antoinette, who was executed by radicals in 1793. One dog appears to be wearing a jeweled necklace. The other is wearing a red ribbon. Obama’s media courtiers applauded the ostentatious display of canine luxury
