Gun-control overhaul
is defeated in Senate

Washington Post, by Ed O´Keefe and Philip Rucker

President Obama’s ambitious effort to overhaul the nation’s gun laws in response to December’s school massacre in Connecticut suffered a resounding defeat Wednesday, when every major proposal he championed fell apart on the Senate floor. It was a stunning collapse for gun-control advocates just four months after the deaths of 20 children and six adults in Newtown led the president and many others to believe that the political climate on guns had been altered in their favor. The national drive for laws that might prevent another mass shooting unraveled

Last time I looked the Democrats controlled the senate. No drama Obama is no LBJ. He doesn´t know how to work the Senate. It´s going to be a long three and a half years for this lame duck.

Obama´s community organizer methods failed big time. He politicized a crisis to promote his agenda instead of listening to the concerns of senators and accommodating enough of those concerns to WIN enough votes to get legislation passed.

In spite of Obama´s rhetoric about the NRA, his favored gun control legislation failed because he did not convince enough Senators to vote for it. It´s simply called listening to the opposition and winning them over.

Obama apparently still believes he is a community organizer where giving speeches and blaming others is enough.

For the WP, the writers and many of the commentators, check out Chicago people. You have every gun ban, gun control, gun hate, law you can think of and all of that gets hundreds murdered every year. Included in those totals are innocent Americans you disarmed with your ´controls.´ Empty talk by sheeple who are dumb enough to think criminals will be stopped by another Federal law. All the witty commentators who are quick with the insult, ought to check how many gun crimes Chicago prosecutes.

The Constitution is the contract under which We the People set up a government. It specifies what the government can and cannot do.

One of the things the government cannot do is infringe upon the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

Background checks do not infringe ONLY if the government does not stop a person from obtaining a firearm. As soon as the response prevents a purchase, the check is unconstitutional.

They flat do not have the authority!

So, now, for the first time in a long time, I have a new strategy- supporting the conservative organizations that are in alignment with my own belief system (I strongly supported the NRA on this)!

And won.

I had been supporting the RNC and my state´s Republicans during the fight over that filthy Øbama Caret and lost.

Now, my new mantra: no more money to the RNC- or politicians just because they have an (R) next to their name. Power in organizations! The Republicans have to understand they need to get back to their conservative roots!

Obama and the Dim Dems, the worlds greatest guns and ammo salesmen. Since Obuma was elected, I think the reports are that Americans have bought about 2 million of those "deadly, high capacity "assault" rifles per year since he was "elected". Smart, very, very smart Democrats.

He thankfully cannot get anything done and 2014 is shaping up pretty well against him.

"God forgive me ....I HATE this person"

No need for forgiveness, #5. God hates him too:

Proverbs 6:16-19
New International Version (NIV)

16 There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
***********
Yet God also commands us to love, along with hate. We are to seek the reform of the one we hate, thus bringing blessing to him, showing love for him. (Biblical hate is not an absence of love.)

President Obama urged Russia on Tuesday to stop “meddling” in Ukraine and withdraw its troops from Crimea, but a defiant Russian President Vladimir Putin said sanctions threatened by the West won’t prevent him from defending his country’s interests with its troubled neighbor. As the crisis persisted, Mr. Obama overshadowed his own budget rollout to accuse Mr. Putin of concocting a pretext to invade the Crimean peninsula in southern Ukraine. Secretary of State John F. Kerry, who met with top Ukrainian officials on a visit to Kiev, insisted that Russia is violating international law. “President Putin seems to have a different

President Obama sent Congress a $3.9 trillion budget blueprint Tuesday that seeks fresh spending to boost economic growth but also aims to tame the national debt by raising taxes on the rich, squeezing payments to health-care providers and overhauling immigration laws. Congressional Republicans immediately rejected the request for fiscal 2015, saying that the proposal would bust limits on agency spending that the White House endorsed in December. But the blueprint, the fifth of Obama’s presidency, was not designed primarily to influence the latest round of Capitol Hill budget talks. Instead, it charts a course for Obama’s final years in office,

BERLIN —NATO members held emergency talks about the crisis in Ukraine on Tuesday and pledged their “solidarity,” but there were signs of division in Europe over how to respond to Russia’s intervention in Crimea. Among the biggest obstacles to consensus: Fears dating to the Cold War are running up against the economic clout of the new Russia. In the former Eastern bloc, political leaders and the populace are seeing the ghost of the Cold War. A nervous Poland, where Lech Walesa stared down the Soviet Union in the 1980s, called Tuesday’s snap meeting of NATO members by invoking a rarely

here are two competing models for reforming the Internal Revenue Service’s oversight of the political activities of certain nonprofit organizations: one put forward by the IRS itself, in the form of a regulatory rule change, a second put forward by Representative David Camp (R., Mich.) on behalf of the House Ways and Means Committee. Neither program is sufficient, because neither reflects the reality behind the recent IRS scandal, which was not the result of murky rules or bureaucratic incompetence but rather of what gives every indication of being deliberate misuse of federal investigatory resources for partisan political ends. As a direct counter to President Obama’s recent emphasis on the gap between rich and poor, the upcoming House Republican budget will focus on welfare reform and recommend a sweeping overhaul of social programs, including Head Start and Medicaid. The push, led by Rep. FOR FIVE YEARS, President Obama has led a foreign policy based more on how he thinks the world should operate than on reality. It was a world in which “the tide of war is receding” and the United States could, without much risk, radically reduce the size of its armed forces. Other leaders, in this vision, would behave rationally and in the interest of their people and the world. Invasions, brute force, great-power games and shifting alliances — these were things of the past. Secretary of State John F. Kerry displayed this mindset on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday when he
