The 1-percenter who doesn’t pay
his ‘fair share’ - President Obama

Washington Times, by Dr. Milton R. Wolf

Resolved: No American citizen shall be required to pay federal income taxes at a rate higher than the country’s millionaire president pays. Let’s call it the Alternative Maximum Fairness Tax: Calculate your current tax rate, compare it to the president’s and pay the lower of the two. The White House admitted in a Friday afternoon news dump, of course that President Obama paid only an 18.4 percent effective federal income tax rate on his adjusted gross income last year of $608,611. The highest income-tax rate last year was 35 percent (and has now increased to 39.6 percent,

I paid 33% in tax. I use just the standard deduction.

Doing my taxes I saw that I made about $5,200 less then last year with taxes up over $2,600
Add in the cost of gas where we are paying more then double. I paid at least $1,200 more in gas. Food, utilities, clothes, everything higher.

Obamacare is nothing but a huge tax increase. It will be collected by employers and insurance companies, but government will redistribute revenues from middle class workers to Obama´s welfare clients.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, isn´t one to throw bombs. Unlike congressional gadflies who abuse their oversight power to afflict their political enemies and make a name for themselves, the veteran California Democrat has been a responsible and low-key supporter of the intelligence community. So when Feinstein takes to the Senate floor to level explosive charges against the CIA, as she did on Tuesday, attention should be paid.(Snip) Feinstein charged that the CIA had tampered with the intelligence committee´s years-long investigation of the agency´s brutal, post-9/11 interrogation program. On the heels of Democrats´ surprising loss in a Florida special election on Tuesday comes a new NBC-Wall Street Journal national poll that will (and should) trigger even more nervousness within the party as the November midterm election draws closer. The entire poll is an embarrassment of riches for political junkies -- you can scan it yourself here -- but three numbers in particular jumped out at us. 1. 41. That´s President Obama´s overall job approval in the new NBC-WSJ survey, the lowest he has been in the history of the poll. And, it´s not a blip in the NBC-WSJ data.

Back in September, our family received an Obamacare-induced health insurance death notice. We joined millions of other Americans whose individual market health plans died after Democrats lied about our ability to keep the plans and doctors we liked. President Obama tried to "fix" the mess he created. But as usual, the federal government´s solutions have made things even worse. Confusion and chaos reign not just in our household, but across the country. As I reported last fall, our letter from Anthem BlueCross BlueShield of Colorado informed us that we could no longer keep our high-deductible PPO plan with a wide doctor network

Here again is the problem of surveillance professionals operating within a highly technologized surveillance state: If they can do it they will do it. If they are able to take an action they will sooner or later take it, whether or not it’s a good thing, even whether or not it is legal. Defenders of the surveillance state as it is currently organized and constituted blithely argue that laws, rules, traditions and long-held assumptions will control or put a damper on the actions of those with the power to invade the privacy of groups or individuals. They are very trusting

If anyone wanted to pick a time and place where the political left´s avowed concern for minorities was definitively exposed as a fraud, it would be now -- and the place would be New York City, where far left Mayor Bill de Blasio has launched an attack on charter schools, cutting their funding, among other things. These schools have given thousands of low income minority children their only shot at a decent education, which often means their only shot at a decent life. Last year 82 percent of the students at a charter school called Success Academy passed city-wide mathematics exams,

Pew Research Center Founding Director Andrew Kohut wrote an important Washington Post column last month highlighting the Democratic drift leftward during the Obama administration. Backed by decades of Pew data, Kohut concluded that Democrats have grown just as liberal as Republicans have become more conservative in recent years. "They are much more socially liberal than they were even a decade ago, more supportive of an activist government, more in favor of increased regulation of business," Kohut writes. It´s a useful corrective to the notion, fueled by the White House, that the Republican Party alone is responsible for gridlock in Washington. But

BOULDER, Colo. — California is now in the midst of the third year of one of its worst droughts on record. As our planet gradually warms from our rampant burning of fossil fuels, it’s only natural to wonder what role climate change has played in California’s troubles. The answer is this: At present, the scientific evidence does not support an argument that the drought there is appreciably linked to human-induced climate change. The drought has many attributes of historical droughts over that region — in particular, a lack of storms and rainfall that would normally arrive from the Pacific Ocean with considerable

"On Monday night we´re going to show the growing number of senators who are committed to working together to confront climate change." Irked that I used my Twitter feed to criticize her ObamaCare propaganda efforts, Wasserman Schultz snarked back at me: ‘‘Thanks for spreading the word! Have you heard the news? Condoleezza Rice lacks “moral authority.” She fails to meet the standards of “exemplary citizenship” and she does not have what it takes to “inspire” graduating college seniors. That crazy thinking comes from the New Brunswick Faculty Council of Rutgers University. They voted last week to ask university leadership to cancel Rice’s invitation to be this year’s Commencement Speaker and receive an honorary degree.Yes, apparently the first African-American woman to serve as National Security Adviser and the nation’s Secretary of State doesn’t have what it takes to be honored by Rutgers.

It shows the real Chicago, not some fantasy Chicago, not the sanitized postcard downtown, that theme-park-of-a-city that the Daleys pushed out to national audiences through their media contacts for years. "Chicagoland" depicts the city we know, beautiful but with warts and broken places. And throughout, there is drama and conflict, from the painful closing of public schools to the senseless gang wars. House of Cards, the Netflix series about a lethally unscrupulous Washington politician, is a wonderful show, but it does sometimes stretch the limits of credulity. I have no trouble believing that a Democratic congressman would push a reporter in front of a train, but the idea that anyone in the press would try to expose him for it is flat-out ridiculous. After all, Barack Obama has been pushing reporters under the bus for six years and nobody’s said a word. Ah, well. If the show gives leftist politicos nightmares about being held accountable for their actions by American journalists, they

Fertility is the missing chapter in sex education. Sobering facts about women’s declining fertility after their 20s are being withheld from ambitious young women, who are propelled along a career track devised for men. The refusal by public schools’ sex-education programs to acknowledge gender differences is betraying both boys and girls. The genders should be separated for sex counseling. It is absurd to avoid the harsh reality that boys have less to lose from casual serial sex than do girls, who risk pregnancy and whose future fertility can be compromised by disease. Boys need lessons in basic ethics and moral reasoning
