With Immigration Push,
Rubio Puts a Lot on the Line

Real Clear Politics, by Caitlin Huey-Burns

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 4/16/2013 12:56:29 AM

If you turned on the TV Sunday morning, chances are you saw Marco Rubio. The Florida Republican appeared on seven weekly news programs, including two Spanish-language shows, to promote an immigration reform bill he and a bipartisan group of senators are preparing to unveil this week. The bookings were no accident. The conservative lawmaker’s massive pitch to the public signals he is ready to sink or swim with this legislation, which he and fellow “Gang of Eight” colleagues hope will lead to the first comprehensive immigration law in 27 years.

Comments:
Another reminder that our young Rubio has been seduced by the "Dark Side" on immigration reform. Simply put, with all the legislation being thrown around, like a 1,500 page bill here not yet printed, until Reagan´s amnesty of the 80´s is "completed," nothing else should be done, or "promised."

Of course, the dRATS may have wanted to take Rubio out of any future GOP presidential run and pass immigration bill [two-fer]. They can´t be "that" smart?

The Junior Senator with the junior intellect thought the brass ring was his...after all he is Hispanic....And Isn´t that the crux of all matters now? Gravitas, success, a shining record of accomplishment --so old fashioned!

Well, if it turns out that Saudi student has anything to do with what happened in Boston, don´t buy the hype about whether his "student" visa was truly restricted. Obama lifted almost all restrictions on Saudi visas.

Sen. Rubio is not going to win any future national elections by doing what the liberal Democrats and their political allies in the liberal media say he should do, on the illegal alien issue, or anything else, unless he changes his political party and becomes a liberal Democrat.

If this bill passes,it´ll be the death knell for any chance to rehab this country. The left wouldn´t be lining up for it unless they knew something damaging to the country was in there.

It´ll almost be a repeat of obamacare where you won´t know what´s in it until it passes and there will be a snippet of secret language that allows these people to vote right away.
Obama will then start using gov´t funds to shift these people to districts that are within reach.
I think Rubio started out with good intentions on this and was swamped by the DC bullies into conceding on tough language.

It´s beyond idiocy to believe that a US senator in his 40´s, is an innocent lamb being led to the slaughter. This guy Rubio knew what he was doing the whole time; he has done nothing but work for amnesty the entire time he´s been a US senator so please stop with the crap that Rubio is not to be blamed for his own treason.

Thank you #5! Someone who sees through all the ´poor victim Rubio´ garbage. Since he came onto the public stage he has made it clear that his major, perhaps only, political goal has been to work for foreign nationals that are here in our country illegally. They are major abusers of our laws. How much is spent on law enforcement, court costs and incarceration because of their presence here. They avail themselves of all the freebies; welfare, SS and SSI, housing, food stamps, medical care, educational costs and administrative costs, while wiring their money back to their own countries. They do jobs Americans would do because many employers pay those illegals under the table and for lesser wages. They bring disease and cultural practices that are third world, and to add insult to injury, they vote! They vote for Democrats, for the same political policies that destroyed their own countries.

To answer a previous poster, the solution is to enforce the laws already on the books and the only reform needed would be to increase the severity of those laws. It can be done, but some here don´t want it to be done that way. Why not be honest about that and stop insulting those you disagree with.

We can barely afford to pay for our own families. I resent being required to pay for those who came here illegally.

Tehran, Iran — A senior Iranian naval commander says his country has sent several warships to the Atlantic Ocean, close to U.S. maritime borders for the first time. The commander of Iran’s Northern Navy Fleet, Admiral Afshin Rezayee Haddad, is quoted by the official IRNA news agency as saying Saturday that the vessels have already begun the journey to the Atlantic Ocean via waters near South Africa. Iranian officials said last month that the fleet consisted of a destroyer and a logistic helicopter carrier, which will be on a three-month mission. He had faced 39 counts. Authorities say he abused one victim for seven years, beginning when the boy was nine, and abused another boy from the ages of 8 to 13. As the author of two lengthy, heavily researched and thoroughly fact-checked articles that deal with that allegation—the first published in 1992, when Dylan was seven, and the second last fall, when she was 28—I feel obliged to set the record straight. New York - AOL became the latest company to blame Obamacare for cutting back on employee benefits. The tech firm will now pay its 401(k) company match only to employees who are active on Dec. 31 of that year, as opposed to in their paychecks throughout the year. So those who leave the company before the end of the year will forfeit the match. AOL CEO Tim Armstrong blamed $7.1 million in additional Obamacare costs the company is facing this year. Had the company not made the change in its 401(k) payments, employees would have seen their health insurance costs increase, he told CNN Thursday.

It is one of the most common - albeit, ineptly used - elements of the English language. Now, an American academic has suggested that the comma could be abolished as a punctuation mark. Professor John McWhorter claims removing commas from most modern U.S. texts would cause ´little loss of clarity´ - meaning they may now be in a state of obsolescence. He adds that internet users are becoming increasingly carefree in their use of the punctuation mark - with some professional writers following suit, according to The Times. ´[You] could take them out of a great deal of modern American

SAN ANTONIO — We recommend incumbent John Cornyn for the GOP´s U.S. Senate nomination, based on unmatched experience and decades of service to Texas. The theme among a bevy of challengers seems to be that Cornyn is a CINO, a conservative in name only. This is not just counter-intuitive but counter-factual. Various ratings — liberal and conservative — have agreed on one thing, Cornyn´s conservative credentials are genuine. Not conservative? Cornyn is No. 2 in Senate leadership and diverged only slightly from the conservative playbook in a year in which he offered a measure that would further beef up security at the
