Why Aren’t More People
Repelled by the Left?

Power Line, by John Hinderaker

Original Article

Here is something I don’t understand: liberals are often revealed as vile, vulgar hatemongers–not all of them, of course, but far too many–yet they never seem to pay a penalty at the polls. Why is that? Margaret Thatcher’s death has been the latest occasion for the Left to show its true stripes. All across the U.K., there have been demonstrations–vulgar at best, and violent at worst. In Bristol, lefties celebrating a Thatcher “death street party” started fires, destroyed property and battled police: This evening in Trafalgar Square, liberals have turned out for a long-planned celebration of Thatcher’s death:

Libtards have infested themselves everywhere and use their hate mongering, racial baiting and outright lies as influence for the low information voter who wants more and more freebies off the worker backs.

Because the Left has owned the vocabulary for decades: a homeless man is an ´´urban outdoorsman´´; change of seasons is now ´´climate change´´; entitlements are ´´rights´´; Caucasians have become ´´racists´´; Christians are ´´intolerant homophobes´´; and babies are ´´fetuses´´ (see also: ´´choice´´.)

Charming buncha people.

When I was a young woman in the late 60´s early 70´s, I worked in Boston. Up until then, most of my info about the hippies was from the tv/newspaper and I thought little of them. But taking a lunch break in Boston, I frequently encountered these people on my walks around the city. First the stench, then you heard the chants or they actually tried to engage you in dialogue. You realized they were filthy, hateful, stupid people who littered our sidewalks and interfered with people working hard trying to earn a living. The dregs of society. Now they teach in our schools.

It´s because the left rejects God, or hates God, or misrepresents God and His ideals if they want to invoke God for their causes. Without God there is evil.

Another amazing thing about this topic is how liberals don´t see that their ugliness and hate will ultimately turn back on them. They are useful and part of the "in group" one minute and the next minute expendable because of a new random hatred. The value in this mindset is merely momentary and subject to the next perceived slight.

The left couldn´t exist without a cartoon image of their opponents...us. They only act the way they do as a response to how awful we are. As Tammy Bruce says, not only are they not smarter than us, there´s something wrong with them.

Yes, #6. Also, the average left-leaning Lo Fo individual has been taught to always hold something or someone else accountable for the bad decisions an individual may make. It´s the victim thing. There always has to be a victim. Why dont more people reject the left-leaning way? Look at the big picture. The schools have become liberal indoctrination centers. This has fostered an indoctrinating msm and gummint. Now the real answer. More people will repel the letie way, but only after their lives go through some serious hardship - no money, no job, no food, no energy, no communications. Once they realise they have been reduced to walking vegetables, they will wake up. Too many things about the left have become inbred. The repulsion of the left will have to begin at the pre-school age and carry forward through a generation. Indeed, belief by the Creator has been replaced by belief and obeyance to the State.

#9 - you got that right! The Left has been dumbing down a generation (or two) of kids in our schools by wielding steady pressure with the battle axe of White guilt while promoting and hansomly rewarding victimhood in a Politically Correct, feel-good campaign to fundamentally transform this country. Now with their Hood Ornament in the White House our economy has been wound down to the point where almost half is now made up of unemployed, barely aware, dope-smoking, self-absorbed, media-influenced, celebrity-obsessed, Food-Stamp wielding, Escalade driving, Kool-Aid drinking, government-dependent, entitlement rich, busted-azz, free-loading, Lo Fo Obamaphone zombies while enlisting the help of the ignorant, gullible, White guilt-ridden, Birkenstock-wearing, bottled-water-drinking, Politically Correct, Xanax-disabled, Valium-dependent, spineless Socialist Liberal lemmings and the two times stupid Obama-voting Honey Boo Boo union slugs who are simply out for their own! Much of our society has left worshipping God and the Golden Rule in the dust, something the Left adores because they want to be god!

Poster #2 reminds me of how long they have controlled the language to further their goals. When I was a child, we called people who didn´t work, were not responsible, and consequently ended up living in the streets "bums" or "vagrants". Almost all people living under these conditions do so by choice and are either alcoholics or druggies (usually both).

They were shunned by moral society. Changing the language to "homeless" was one small part of the quite successful drive to normalize and reward deviant and irresponsible behavior. Now we have millions of people living like leaches off the toil of others and treated sympathetically (somehow) as innocent victims.

To the authors question, why do the rest of us tolerate the childish tantrums of the left - they are vicious and dangerous and we must try to protect ourselves as best we can when they are in control. To the other question why is the left so vicious and dangerous? They are grown up children who have never experienced that they do not control their parents yet the parents love them and care for them. Hitler was a prime example of this. The first time he didn´t get his way was when he lost the second world war! Leftists security lies in controlling first their parents and later the government as their source of life. Anything they perceive as a threat to that they will fight with single minded passion.

It´s pretty simple. The Left is envious of the Right. That´s why you see all of the vitriol from the Left. They seem steeped in schadenfreude towards the success of anyone on the right. Fortunately for them, anger turns into passion come election time and we get what we get. Hard to say if the Right will ever get enough people out to vote again. I fear we´re destined to become a nation of takers until the givers are out of cash.

#6 you are correct. Look at these quotes from Lenin:

“Our program necessarily includes the propaganda of atheism”

“Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik forever”

“Under socialism all will govern in turn and will soon become accustomed to no one governing.” (This reminds of how Obama is a do-nothing who does not really lead).

“The press should be not only a collective propagandist and a collective agitator, but also a collective organizer of the masses” (sound familiar as in MSNBC perhaps?)

“When there is state there can be no freedom, but when there is freedom there will be no state.”

There are many more quotes comparable to Obama´s modus. It´s easy to see who/what Obama is using as Cliff Notes. It´s almost as good/accurate as being a fly on the wall in the White House.

It´s mainly anger that drives these miscreants- free floating anger at their own lives, missed opportunities, hateful parents, futureless future. Bleakness is theirs. Acting out is their safety valve; having others do the same thing is a comfort to them. We will always have people like this amongst us.

It´s an interesting question, and the earlier posts contain a good deal of truth. I´d say there are four main reasons why they don´t suffer at the polls for their antics:

- the cultural and moral deterioration in our society. My guess is that for an increasing percentage of the population Democrat lies, anger and vulgarity reflect the way they deal with problems and disputes in their own lives. They see nothing exceptional in the Dem´s conduct. It´s another manifestation of the "new normal".

- The Dems are the party of the freebie, and people will tolerate and rationalize much if they´re convinced there is something in it for them. As we all know, "Ask not what your country can do for you..." would never resonate today.

- Friendly media, which never fail to frame issues to the libtards´ advantage and provide them with an uncritical megaphone.

- Weak and inconsistent GOP opposition. People will believe whatever is drummed into their heads most often, and the Dems have been able to badly tarnish the GOP brand. Plenty of people who don´t feel comfortable with the Dems vote for them anyway because, as far as they´re concerned, ANYTHING is better than a Republican.

The Left continues to draw the middle because the Left "pays" for that privilege through government largess.

The Right obsesses about the low-end, street level manifestation of that largess, but we never address the enormous role Government asserts over the high-functioning, suburban Middle and the Middle Class. They´re not going to bite the hand that feeds them or threatens them with the soft-fascism of government over-regulation.

The most common manifestation I see for this is the comment I so often read here, "I´m too busy earning a living to get active in politics." The Left never has that problem because the Left makes it´s living from Big Government. They don´t need to be productive citizens. They get a pass on economic and moral accountability at all levels because they make their living in the realm of the only institution that never has to account for itself morally or fiscally -- Big Government.

I have become convinced that the primary mission statement of every Constitutional Conservative´s must be -- Defund the Government. A massive reduction in federal spending is the only solution to the imbalance of political power and return to moral and economic sanity.

I can´t speak for the Brits, but in America it´s another "frog in boiling water" moment. If we start at a baseline of 1945, and assume the Soviets really did have a plan to undermine our society from within, I´d say they succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. 1963 was a pivotal year for them, as was 1969 and 2008. In 2013 we find ourselves a completely alien society from our baseline. It´s been a hockey stick since 1969 and we are nowhere near the apex. We have an unabashed Communist Club in Congress, Communists in our Grade Schools and Universities, Communists in our Union Movements and a Radical Communist in the White House. Combine a feckless Republican opposition and a dumbed-down citizenry, it´s not a pretty picture. The water is roiling... soon to be at full boil.

It´s not evident to John Hinderaker because he is not a Believer.

Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

There are too many shiftless, whiny liberal "victims." This past election showed us that the lazy excuse-makers outnumber the productive taxpayers. When there are more of them than there are of us, fear sets in. Imagine a flash mob times a million. That´s what it will be like if you take away what the non-productive majority feel they are entitled to.

The feeling that the troublemakers can get away with anything started when police stopped shooting looters during riots and national disasters.

We conservatives are busy being responsible while the Left is growing because of the attraction not working & not worrying has for a growing dependent population. I got on our local school board to try to take on the Leftist vermin, but until there´s a majority of conservatives on these boards, the battle is impossible to win because of the tremendous momentum of government largesse. We´re tilting at wind mills as it were.

In the end, tho, all they do is parrot their party line so if you hang in there, they quickly lose the ability to ´discuss´ anything and resort to name calling. That´s when you know you´ve won.

I´ve been thinking about this quite a bit recently. I think #32 has the answer. Three times it says God "gave them over"--to sexual impurity, to shameful lusts and to a depraved mind. It says their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. That is, they had been able to see what was right and wrong, but they became blind.

If you can´t see that the left is doing repellent things, you won´t be repelled by them. Unfortunately that describes more and more people in America today.

Because writers like Hinderaker write 2" deep stories like this, with headlines like this, and conclude "I don´t get it" -- so that everyone else can take the bait and fill in the blanks for what Hinderaker really, really knows. Write a better researched stoy, Mr. Jornalist. Perhaps if the people helping the Left overhthrow the country, too dumb to know the old boss from the new boss, were shown that they have a hand in treason and ruining the character of their brothers and sisters, maybe the Left would stop repelling. Not all repulsive people are evil. They do it for attention. Not all Evil people believe they are evil. But all the Evil people, or the spirits inside them, know Jesus is Lord, and tremble. Just a little more, Hinderaker. You can do it.

There are two problems. One, the public education system needs to be shut down. period. If you support public education and have your children in public education, you are part of the problem. Yank em out, SUE over your property taxes, and teach your children yourself. All we be better for it.
Number Two: the Big Problem. Democrats are the way they are because we let them. For decades the Moderates among us have demanded, DEMANDED, the GOP act more like the very people we do not want to be. The people in MY party who thought John McCain, or ANY senator for that matter would make a good president ARE the problem. The Democrats can be defeated easily. It is a shame the GOP is in to big of a hurry to be just like them. As a result, good people, like me, are fast losing interest in politics because NONE, and I do mean NONE of the Conservative Hard Work is ever, ever, ever rewarded. Moderates among us would rather make a deal with the Democrats as opposed to standing up to them and calling them out. Won´t get invited to the right parties you know. Meanwhile the Democrats would rather make a deal with Mexicans and Muslims before making a deal with their fellow countrymen. Don´t believe me? Who did AlGore sell his TV station to?
Clue up. Now.
Cheers.

It goes back to the Garden. Man is sinful by nature. Not wanting to do wrong all the time but live independent of God. Man tries to live without God because God demands man be responsible and accountable for his actions. That goes against man´s nature so man would rather live however he wants without judgment and without consequences; it´s how man defines liberty and freedom and it draws man away from God instead of towards Him.

Liberals offer people a non-judgmental, no consequences life, just what man wants, but definitely not what man needs. Also, it´s what links the media with liberals. The media needs people to live irresponsible lives so they can sell their products, programs, lifestyles and ideologies. The more irresponsible you are, the more they love it. Likewise, the more dependent you are of the government and the more mindless and thoughtless you are, the more the left loves it.

The enemy of the left and media is responsible people, people who live by truth, facts and learn from history and know there is consequences for one´s actions. Those people are usually the Godly and the Christian. Those people are the enemy of the media and now the enemy of the state. Those people are now in the minority.

In more than a decade of campaigns for the California Legislature, San Francisco mayor and secretary of state, state Sen. Leland Yee raised in excess of $5 million. Yet it was a campaign debt only a fraction of that amount that federal officials allege pulled the veteran politician into a sprawling sting operation. The 137-page FBI affidavit against Yee and more than 20 other defendants says the San Francisco Democrat’s focus on retiring a $70,000 campaign debt from his unsuccessful 2011 mayor’s race and raising money for his 2014 candidacy for secretary of state led him to accept bribes in return

The FBI isn’t breaking up with the SPLC —
it’s just not keeping the relationship “official”

Last week, the FBI received a lot of attention and praise from conservative sources for finally eliminating the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) from its website’s list of “hate crimes” resources. However, while a headline at Breitbart says the FBI “dumps [SPLC] as hate crimes resource,” and an article at The Daily Caller said the FBI was “breaking ties” with the SPLC, a public statement from the FBI and the agency’s own website indicate the removal may mean just that — removal from the site, not a diminishing of the relationship between the two organizations. From my article on the

It could be in a bottom bureau drawer beneath some old tee shirts, sweat pants that no longer fit or laundered dress shirts purchased during the first Reagan administration and not worn since the second Clinton tenure. It might be on a closet shelf or perhaps in the attic, wrapped tightly in thick twine. Or maybe—if you’re an optimist, someone who never checks the date of birth on your driver’s license or are simply a bit delusional—it’s in the trunk of your car, ready to be used at the simplest provocation: a sunny day, a field, a driveway, a back-yard,

No accident in history of flying has ever spooked as many people. It’s a crisis for the airline industry that wants to make Asia a larger market than North America and Europe combined. Fear of flying is irrational but often incurable. Once the doors close on the cabin there is no escape. Your life is in the hands of the pilots together with the most complex machine ever devised for travel. You have no control. The requirement for you to submit to confinement is reinforced by accepting the first bag of peanuts. Irrational? Just look at the numbers. Last year 1.3 million

A National Labor Relations Board official has given the green light to Northwestern University football players to form a union. The March 26 decision by the NLRB´s Chicago regional director, Peter Sung Ohr, held that scholarship football players are "employees" for purposes of federal labor law. Ohr rejected the longstanding view of Northwestern and the National Collegiate Athletic Association that players are "student-athletes" rather than employees. While Ohr´s decision is hardly the final word on this issue, it does accelerate the legal and political battle against the NCAA and its century-old amateurism rules. Is Football Academic? The push from the commander in chief, generals and politicians to punish sexual offenders has become so relentless that it endangers the fairness of the military justice system, defense lawyers say. They worry that a cacophony of public statements vouching for accusers and demanding justice can sway military judges and jurors who are trained to take lawful orders. A military judge already has ruled that “unlawful command influence” infected the infamous case of an Army general charged with a string of sex offenses. “I think it’s troublesome when you have the president and the secretary of defense making certain pronouncements about what’s to

Liberals keep dismissing challenges to ObamaCare, political and legal, so it´s no surprise they mostly ignored last week´s oral argument at the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals that could send another case to the Supreme Court. Coming in the week the White House wheeled out its 38th rewrite of the law, Halbig v. Sebelius is even more important for the contours of executive power and the rule of law. The case asks whether the Affordable Care Act, which limits insurance subsidies to "an Exchange established by the State," also authorizes subsidies for the 36 exchanges established by the federal government. "Bottom Line: We Are On Track To Launch” ranks right up there with “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it,” as one of the biggest falsehoods in the annals of Obamacare. The latter quote is the one that President Barack Obama used repeatedly as he lobbied for passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and then as he campaigned for a second presidential term. PolitiFact named Obama’s statement the 2013 lie of the year. Less is known about the first quote, offered by Rocky King in a PowerPoint presentation. King was the then-Executive Director of

Experts say a bigger earthquake along the lesser-known fault that gave Southern California a moderate shake could do more damage to the region than the long-dreaded “Big One” from the more famous San Andreas Fault. The Puente Hills thrust fault, which brought Friday night’s magnitude-5.1 quake centered in La Habra and well over 100 aftershocks by Sunday, stretches from northern Orange County under downtown Los Angeles into Hollywood — a heavily populated swath of the Los Angeles area. A magnitude-7.5 earthquake along that fault could prove more catastrophic than one along the San Andreas, which runs along the outskirts of

But health care isn’t about politics, it’s about people, and millions of people have lost their health insurance, millions of people can’t see their own doctors, and millions are paying more and getting less.” At the close, a narrator urges viewers to “tell Mary Landrieu to stop thinking about politics and start thinking about people.” Such ads have

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who won eight primaries and caucuses in the 2008 Republican presidential race, says a new poll showing him tied for the lead of the 2016 GOP primary race is "encouraging." The poll, done by Washington-based WPA Opinion Research, shows Huckabee and Rand Paul tied at the top of a still very unformed GOP race, with 13 percent each. Jeb Bush is second at 11 percent, with Chris Christie and Ted Cruz tied at nine percent, Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio at six percent, Scott Walker at five percent, Bobby Jindal and Rick Santorum at three percent,

The activist son of leftist billionaire George Soros nearly derailed an on-time state budget as he threatened to launch multimillion-dollar TV campaigns against Gov. Cuomo and legislative leaders unless they approved a sweeping system of publicly financed campaigns, The Post has learned. Jonathan Soros, who has already spent millions on campaign contributions and television advertising in an ironic campaign to “get private money out of politics,’’ warned Cuomo and the Senate’s co-leaders, Republican Dean Skelos (Nassau) and Democrat Jeff Klein (Bronx), Friday in direct conversations that he would launch election-year attacks against them, and encouraged others to do the same, if

Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft former Florida governor Jeb Bush into the 2016 presidential race, courting him and his intimates and starting talks on fundraising strategy. Concerned that the George Washington Bridge traffic scandal has damaged New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s political standing and alarmed by the steady rise of Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), prominent donors, conservative leaders and longtime operatives say they consider Bush the GOP’s brightest hope to win back the White House.

If Betsey McCaughey is correct (and I bet she is, because she has not only read the entire ObamaCare bill, she has written a book about it), Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan publicly humiliated herself during the oral arguments on the Hobby Lobby case, revealing that she either did not read the law, or failed to comprehend it if she did so. Writing in the New York Sun, McCaughey lays out what is wrong with the Justice’s declaration about Obamacare: she asserted that the statute itself mandates provision of birth control. Not one word in the Affordable Care Act guarantees health plans will cover birth control products.

I have no objections to Jeb Bush running for president. He obviously has a wide appeal as a potential candidate. (Snip) His support of Common Core, however, will also find many who are in the conservative ranks objecting, since they fear that Common Core represents educational centralism and having the government ram federal standards down their throats. What I do object to is that Bush is already being heralded as the obvious candidate, the man to whom the big money must and will flow. President Bill Clinton´s guilty conscience over his affair with Monica Lewinsky – and a desire to repair his shattered reputation by using the State of the Union address – set his speechwriters an unenviable task, newly released archive papers reveal. The former president appeared to be trying to butter up his wife, Hillary Clinton, out of guilt – or perhaps to fool her – before the scandal broke. And he was determined to try to convince the American public afterwards that he was still of a high moral character. YOKOHAMA, Japan — Climate change is already having sweeping effects on every continent and throughout the world’s oceans, scientists reported Monday, and they warned that the problem is likely to grow substantially worse unless greenhouse emissions are brought under control. The report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a United Nations group that periodically summarizes climate science, concluded that ice caps are melting, sea ice in the Arctic is collapsing, water supplies are coming under stress, heat waves and heavy rains are intensifying, coral reefs are dying, and fish and many other creatures are migrating toward the poles or
