Package sent to Arpaio

PHOENIX -- Arizona authorities say a package addressed to Sheriff Joe Arpaio discovered in a northern Arizona mailbox would have exploded if opened, leading to serious injuries or death. Maricopa County Chief Deputy Jerry Sheridan made the comment Friday at a news conference in Phoenix. He said investigators are trying to locate one person who may have been involved in mailing the package addressed to his boss. The package intercepted late Thursday was addressed to Arpaio at his downtown Phoenix office. It had been left in a parcel locker that was part of a multiple address mailbox

There´s really no difference between this attempted murder of Sheriff Joe or the moronic attacks on Ms.Thatcher,
Both symbolize the left´s resentment of authority. This is why the left loves Obama so much,he´s not an authority figure,he just sorta blends in with the scenery.

Until this week,I didn´t realize the Treasury dept.issued travel visas,I thought it was the state dept. You have to be a nitwit to believe Obama didn´t pull some strings to allow JZ and Bouncey to go to Cuber. The first thing you have to do to travel there is buy a straw hat.

CVS, the nation’s second-largest pharmacy chain, recently decided to stop selling tobacco products. That was all well and good: There’s nothing objectionable about a corporation making the decision to stop selling a product that is well-known to be harmful. (Though we could have done without the theatrics from President Obama, who felt the need to issue a statement “congratulating” the chain.) More troublingly, last week, the attorneys general of 28 states, led by New York’s Eric Schneiderman and Ohio’s Mike DeWine, sent a vaguely threatening letter to five other large chains—Walmart, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Safeway, and Kroger—“urging” them to do

E arlier this week, President Obama stated explicitly what everyone already knew: The U.S. is not prepared to go to war with Russia over its annexation of Crimea. We´ll impose some tough sanctions, we´ll say some mean things about Vladimir Putin, and John McCain will fulminate for a while longer on Sunday-morning talk shows. But the current situation on the ground isn´t going to change — because Putin successfully showed that the American president never had any intention of backing up his warnings and threats with military force. Since I don´t think the United States has much of a strategic interest in

I knew I had to quit. I’d been a correspondent for RT—the English-language international cable network funded by the Russian government—for about two and a half years. I’d looked the other way as the network smeared America for the sake of making the Kremlin look better by comparison, while it sugarcoated atrocities by one brutal dictator after another. I’d been thinking about leaving for a long time, but was trying to hang in there until I figured out my next move. Then Russia invaded Ukraine, and I came to see just how dangerous a propaganda tool the network was. I couldn’t

AUSTIN, Texas—As it makes a bid for relevance in the Lone Star State, the Texas Democratic Party is contending with a "Kinky" problem. The state party had lined up a preferred slate of candidates under gubernatorial nominee Wendy Davis for this fall, as it seeks to win a statewide office for the first time since 1994. But Richard "Kinky" Friedman, a cigar-chomping, cowboy-hat-wearing humorist, crashed the party. He knocked out the establishment Democrats´ favored candidate, Hugh Asa Fitzsimons III, in this month´s primary for agriculture commissioner, a powerful position that oversees an agency with 700 employees and a $550 million annual

SEIU and other labor unions can accompany the government inspectors on site visits due to a quiet and contested Obama administration rule clarification issued last year in response to a request from a union representative. SEIU agents recently accompanied an inspector from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), a division of the Department of Labor, on three visits to nonunion work sites under contract with the Houston-based janitorial

Some lies just won’t go away. In February the Washington Post published an article with the following headline: “Why There’s No Democratic Version of the Koch Brothers’ Organization.” It was the umpteenth attempt to explain, in a particularly simplistic manner, how the millionaires and billionaires who donate money to the Democratic Party are nothing, absolutely nothing, like those meanie cancer research philanthropists Charles and David Koch. The author, Reid Wilson, interviewed “Democratic strategists who deal frequently with high-dollar donors,” and these Democratic strategists told him, strategically, that their high-dollar donors are better than Republican ones. “For the Koch brothers, electing the

Black students are more likely to be suspended from U.S. public schools — even as tiny preschoolers. The racial disparities in American education, from access to high-level classes and experienced teachers to discipline, were highlighted in a report released Friday by the Education Department´s civil rights arm. The suspensions — and disparities — begin at the earliest grades. Black children represent about 18 percent of children in preschool programs in schools, but they make up almost half of the preschoolers who are suspended more than once, the report said. Six percent of the nation´s districts with preschools reported suspending at

This week, for example, two things happened that should have sent reporters into a frenzy of outrage. First, there were reports that the Obama administration has effectively crippled the Freedom of Information Act, despite Obama´s promise of unequaled transparency. In 2011, over 8,000 kids were suspended from preschool — preschool! — in America. More than half were black, despite comprising less than half of the student population. Sure, we can entertain a lot of theories why this is the case, but I am going to go with this one: America has a problem with racism. The odds are probably better than even that you will be annoyed by that. Which is fine. I accept that response. And there are a lot of possibilities that could explain how this bit of data is an aberration. As the Associated Press reports, the
