Please, Please Make My Day
Power Line, by Steven Hayward

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 4/12/2013 5:16:40 AM

The New York Post front page below really can’t wait for our weekend “Week in Pictures” photo/meme/cartoon spread. The thought of Anthony Weiner running for mayor of New York City is just too irresistible. Please, please, Anthony, do it! We need the endless comic relief. Jon Stewart will be able to put half his writing staff on furlough. The Post‘s Andrew Peyser says this is a “bizarre fantasy”–”Is Anthony Weiner completely delusional? Or is he out of his flipping, sex-crazed gourd?” But I disagree: it seems no more bizarre to me than a president

That Post cover will give you a breakfast grin, I promise.

Now that we know that the electorate will reelect anti-American communist-appointing candidates with a proven record of failure and disgrace, anything is possible - why doesn´t Weiner try running for president instead? He´s as plausible as Obama ever was. More so, even.

It´s like trying to decide between Son of Sam in the east or the Zodiac killer in the west.

Anthony Weiner does bring a lot to the table.
With his wife Huma Weiner they would make a fine First Couple for New York City.

And if you´re gonna write it this way, might as well call him Meshuggaweiner. Can´t you just see the sign on the hot dog stand? In the run-up to Super Bowl XLVIII (just be happy they don´t use Egyptian numerals), the New York City Police Department is deploying an "amazing arsenal of security initiatives," including 200 "temporary" surveillance cameras to ensure that dirty deeds remain undone at the big game. That´s remarkable, since City Hall in the rotten apple is actually about 11 miles from the site of the kickoff at MetLife Stadium, which is in East Rutherford, New Jersey. But never fear, security at the the Super Bowl itself promises to make attendance at football´s championship game an awful lot like spending several hours

Charlie Crist’s new book, lazily titled The Party’s Over, is a cause for both anger and sadness. Crist, the former Republican governor of Florida who is now running for the same office as a Democrat, has written—or rather has co-written, with Newsday columnist and Fox News liberal Ellis Henican—a dishonest and boring memoir. But by the end of this slim volume, a self-justifying account of why Crist switched parties, pathos overwhelms the sheer awfulness of the book. Crist is such a political hack, and so unable to talk or sound like a normal human being, that he actually provides a

Of all the names Wendy Davis has been called, the “D” word could be the most damaging. It all started when, at the event where her daughter cried for her on stage, Davis was handed former Gov. When you analyze the public response to the State of the Union and the latest polling data, it’s clear that the President has lost a tremendous amount of credibility with the American public. I scarcely think he cares at this point. A tired, graying Barack Obama stood before Congress this week as a political figure, party leader, and progressive activist to make sure the Members understood one thing – he doesn’t need them. In fact, he hasn’t needed them in quite some time. After all, in his mind, it’s his government. True, the speech wasn’t as “in your face” as

Mr. President, Republicans are calling your bluff. During last Tuesday’s State of the Union, President Obama responded to the GOP’s attempts to repeal ObamaCare this way: “If you have specific plans to cut costs, cover more people, increase choice, tell America what you’d do differently,” he said. “We all owe it to the American people to say what we’re for, not just what we’re against.” Challenge accepted. Last week, three GOP senators — North Carolina’s Richard Burr, Oklahoma’s Tom Coburn and Utah’s Orrin Hatch — introduced a new proposal that would do far more than repeal ObamaCare and return us to what we

The bailout is designed to conceal the failure of the president´s signature health law until he is out of office. No one in the Obama administration talked up the advantages of bailing out insurers.
