Obama slams Republicans
for gun reform ´stunts´

France 24 International News, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:STLstudent, 4/9/2013 1:46:29 AM

President Barack Obama accused Republicans of stooping to political stunts to block gun reform, in a fervent appeal delivered close to the site of the Newtown school massacre. At a critical moment for hopes for sweeping action to stem gun violence, Obama traveled to Hartford, Connecticut, not far from Sandy Hook Elementary School, where 20 children and six adults were gunned down in December.

Comments:
Republican leaders! Fight Obama and with all your strength fight the traitor McCain! This is the great battle for liberty and the U.S. Constitution, and if you fail now this nation will likely never recover. This is your legacy. Will the U.S. recover and once again be a great nation, or will it be another socialist, totalitarian slum. It´s in your hands!

Wise King Barky bravely stood on the graves of recently slain children, and boldly blamed all law-abiding firearms owners for the actions of one murderous mental patient.

Go straight to hell, Barky.

Obama is of the mindset that the end justifies the means. He will do anything no matter how vile to push his agenda. Listen to him speak. He needs to rail against someone to make his point. He is the ultimate community organizer creating discord and chaos as travels around the country. He is the antithesis of a uniter. He sees Republicans as the enemy and they must be defeated no matter it takes.

According to Obama and the left, senators and reps no longer have the right to voice their displeasure at outrageous laws being proposed.Of course the real reason is they don´t want a black president to have a success. That´s Chris Matthews explanation for everything the GOP opposes.Never mind they´ve had the same beliefs long before Obama came along with his Santa Claus presidency.

#7, I don´t think Obama views Republicans as the enemy. He views America and western civ. as the enemy as most radicals do. The left knows it needs to give the media and its base something to hate. Time will then be spent hating instead of analyzing what´s really going on. The GOP estab. is thrilled with Obama because he saved them from the Tea Party. They use him as a barrier, hey he won, we lost, he´s so great, we have to do what he wants.

Yes, #15 wants to lecture "Republicans," as though the back and forth debte on the floor of the senate is a better way for Republicans to get the truth to the public.

The fact is, the media will slice and dice any "discussion" to portray the pro-children side (i.e., the pro-gun side) as being indifferent to the deaths of the school children.

It is only the one-sided, and newsworthy, event of a filibuster that will get the pro-child speeches into actual news coverage, with Foxnews alone leading the way, along with conservative websites and blogs.

Conservatives want "gun reform," meaning elimination of gun-free zones as much as possible (by local choice), and actual prosecutions and incarcerations of violent offenders, and identification and treatment of the mentally ill.

Obama only wants to expand the tyranny of the left. With his stunts.

A snowstorm in the South is about as rare as a glass of unsweetened tea at a church supper. Folks around Birmingham, Ala. weren’t all that worried though. The storm was only supposed to dust the city – not even enough powder for a Southern snowman. But a good number of those stranded motorists were able to find shelter in the storm thanks to the kindness and generosity of Chick-fil-A restaurant employees and the restaurant´s owner, Mark Meadows.

Seventy-two percent of Americans say big government is a greater threat to the U.S. in the future than is big business or big labor, a record high in the nearly 50-year history of this question. The prior high for big government was 65% in 1999 and 2000. Big government has always topped big business and big labor, including in the initial asking in 1965, but just 35% named it at that time. The latest update comes from a Dec. 5-8 poll. Gallup has documented a steady increase in concern about big government since 2009, rising from 55% in March 2009 to 64% in November 2011 and 72% today.

Pope Francis has attacked the “dictatorship” of the global financial system and warned that the “cult of money” was making life a misery for millions. He said free-market capitalism had created a “tyranny” and that human beings were being judged purely by their ability to consume goods. Money should be made to “serve” people, not to “rule” them, he said, calling for a more ethical financial system and curbs on financial speculation. Countries should impose more control over their economies and not allow “absolute autonomy”, in order to provide “for the common good”.

In their 76-page report, three researchers at the Council on Foreign Relations also said the drop in illegal immigration is only partly a result of tougher border security and about two-thirds because of economic changes in Mexico and the U.S. that have made it less attractive for Mexicans to migrate north.

A Nevada cattle rancher appears to have won his week-long battle with the federal government over a controversial cattle roundup that had led to the arrest of several protesters. It only feels like it´s speeding up. Constrained by crises over which he has little power to impact events, hemmed in by a divided Congress more interested in scoring points with voters than in legislating, and watching as his potential successor assumes more and more of the political spotlight, Obama may be receding into history more quickly than either he or his aides ever anticipated.
