That Pesky Constitution
American Thinker, by Ellen Meade

Original Article

Posted By:Desert Fox, 4/6/2013 6:24:35 AM

Is the Constitution becoming the left´s new target? That thought struck me the other night over dinner with my liberal friend, a lawyer and part-time professor. Among his choice statements, "Maybe it´s time to get rid of the Constitution and start over." No doubt he was echoing the sentiments of Georgetown law professor, Louis Michael Seidman, who suggested just that in a New York Times op-ed. It´s been several weeks since Seidman made his remarks, and now, it appears, the floodgates are open. Liberals feel they can speak freely about their true intentions for our country.

It´s no secret or breaking news the left wants to dismantle the Constitution.that´s what the gun laws are about. We´ve already lost free speech. My bet is the Rutgers coach got fired for gay slurs at players not throwing a ball at them.Dr.Carson´s free speech rights came under attack for speaking out of turn at the prayer breakfast. Now he´s a big target of the left. They want Fox,drudge and Limbaugh gone.

What about snooping through people´s emails without probable cause or search warrants.Another attack along with killing people with drones willy nilly.

Federal power grabs on states rights when they don´t like what the states do like Az. SB 1070.

Is the Constitution becoming the left´s new target?

Ya think?!

It´s been under attack ALL my life in sundry ways, only never by a president. Even Billy Clinton respected and followed the ol´ document.

Now one party is hard after it, while the other party ain´t all that hard FOR it.

While most all of us was hard at work tryin´ to make a decent living, and living a decent life (financially and morally), the termites of the Left was eatin´ at our foundations - through the school system and the courts and the Congress. Now the Supreme Court has joined in with the president and congress.

Sad state of affairs but it is what it is.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!

Since Jesus´ time, good people have had to speak in code or communicate in some other way in code to protect themselves from rulers.

Christians let each other know they were fellow believers, since the Romans weren´t too keen on having them around. One person would draw an "over" arch in the sand, and a fellow believer would connect it with an "under" arch. The two connected lines would look like a fish. To this day, Christians use a fish to indicate they are Jesus´ followers - they put a magnetic fish on their cars.

I believe that we may soon have to talk in code based on Ms. Meade´s article. Actually before the Revolutionary War, the Patriots did have to use a little subterfuge among each other.

These are scary times for patriots.

One big problem with drafting a new constitution is that every freak and maniac out there would want input into what would go into it. Every special interest group would want it´s own piece of the action, and it would end up ten thousand pages long and utterly unworkable. It would be Obamacare on steroids, and trying to draw it up would cause a civil war in this country. Even adding a simple amendment is a long and painful process that should be treated with care. Replacing the entire document would be suicidal for this country. But maybe that´s what the Liberals ultimately want.

The right not to live in fear of an armed neighbor

The right to tell other people how to live

Good article, but the author seems to be asking, "Have progressives decided to try to finally rid us of the ´pesky´ constitution?"

The whole point - the central theme - of progressivism has been exactly that since Teddy Roosevelt made it clear in his August 31, 1910 speech in Osawatomie, Kansas, "The New Nationalism."

Progressive political insiders clearly understand that their movement´s primary goal is to let the federal government "progress" beyond the archaic restrictions of liberty as a constitutional republic to the "distributive justice" of an all-powerful socialist "democracy."

If the socialists could present a logical argument for their elitist domination, perhaps they might have a hope of amending the constitution out of existence.

In the absence of a rationale for their agenda they have to resort to imagining it out of existence with activist judges discovering "auras and penumbras" lurking behind the founders clear and obvious intent to limit the central government so that the people can be free.

When you are a modern liberal or progressive who knows what´s best in all respects for everybody in the world, you can´t have an ancient document drawn up hundreds of years ago, by a non-diverse political club of old white men standing in your way to "transform" the USA and the world.

President Obama is suddenly upset about the alleged wage gap between men and women, but he´s not responding to a national economic crisis. Instead, he is attempting to revive the "war on women" theme that, according to Washington wisdom, helped carry Democrats to victory in 2012 and might do again in 2014. If this narrative were true, the White House could spend the year demonizing Republicans as women-hating creeps, driving women to the polls in November and helping the party hold the Senate. But the conventional analysis isn´t accurate. National exit polls from 2012 show scant success for the war-on-women

Washington set a new record in 2013 by issuing final rules consuming 26,417 pages in the Federal Register. While plenty of government employees deserve credit for this milestone, leadership matters. And by this measure President Obama has never been surpassed in the Oval Office. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers.
