Students Want Anti-Gay Priest
Removed from University

Fox News, by Todd Starnes

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 4/5/2013 11:04:03 AM

Religious liberty groups are mobilizing to defend the chaplain of George Washington University’s Newman Center after gay students launched an effort to have the priest fired because he preaches against homosexuality and abortion. “It’s discrimination against Catholics,” said Patrick Reilly, president of the Cardinal Newman Society. “Secular colleges are fast becoming a very unsafe place for Catholics who hold true to their faith. This is a very, very sad situation.” Two gay students at George Washington told the GW Hatchet student newspaper that they want Father Greg Shaffer removed from campus

Comments:
I am so sick and tired that these alleged oh so tolerant leftists threaten and intimidate anyone who doesn´t believe the same as they do. They are the only ones who think they are entitled to free speech. I never thought I would live to see the day how badly this has gotten out of control. It is way beyond frustrating and tiresome that such a small minority is able to wield such power.

How´s that again?
The Newman Center must be prevented from teaching the Catholic faith?
Why don´t these "gay" students start a campaign to overthrow the body of Canon Law? Or object to any number of Papal Encyclicals?
Who are they to make rules for Catholics?
Let them start their own pro-gay organization, get their deep pockets to support them, and build their own building? And pay their own staff.
Catholics should be free to be Catholic.
But gays are not free to be Catholic, unless they repent.

Gays, as represented by their activists, are showing themselves to be not regular people. They are becoming increasingly intolerant and insufferable. Given enough legal standing they´ll be positively fascist IMO. It´s getting to be similar to the Muslim problem where we keep looking for the moderate ones to speak out, and they rarely do.

They are the very ones who promote tolerance. Ha! Two students telling an
institution to change their programs or direction. By all means, jump. How about the other students and their opinion.

If your gay, be proud of your position. It is your dicision, your choice, your venue. Stick to it, but leave your brother and sisters who travel another direction in life alone.

If the priest is anti-gay, wouldn´t these two jerks be anti-heterosexual? Does anyone else on this thread remember when the word "gay" was one of the most pleasant words in the English language? We sat by and let that word be distorted beyond belief. Can´t we all simply say homosexual instead of letting others dictate our usage? A number of homosexuals worked for me, I have close friends who are homosexual, there are homosexuals in my family, etc., etc. So don´t call me anti-homosexual. I´d just like to have my word "GAY" back.
