ARGENTINA has made a formal complaint to Uruguay today after the country´s leader seemingly made some rather disparaging remarks aimed at president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner and her late husband. - snip - He was heard telling, Carlos Enciso, the governor of Uruguay´s Florida province: "That old hag´s worse than the cross-eyed one," referring to Ms Kirchner´s late husband and former Argentinian president Nestor Kirchner. "Cross-eyes was more of a politician, she´s just stubborn," he added.

Comments:
Oh, Senor Mujica, just wait until you have deal directly with Hillary! Ha! Except he´ll say, "That old hag´s worse than the bent one." Sorry...it´s Friday!

On December 18, 2012, the set of Fox & Friends was both festive and somber. Festive because it was the Christmas season. The three hosts, two men in dark suits flanking a woman in a blue dress, sat on a mustard-colored couch in front of a cheery seasonal backdrop: a lit-up tree, silver-painted twigs, mounds of tinsel, blue and red swatches of fabric, and, here and there, multicolored towers of blown glass with tapering points that made them look surprisingly like minarets. Somber because a terrible thing had happened just four days earlier, in an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut.

Scientists have found the oldest DNA evidence yet of humans’ biological history. But instead of neatly clarifying human evolution, the finding is adding new mysteries. In a paper in the journal Nature, scientists reported Wednesday that they had retrieved ancient human DNA from a fossil dating back about 400,000 years, shattering the previous record of 100,000 years. The fossil, a thigh bone found in Spain, had previously seemed to many experts to belong to a forerunner of Neanderthals. But its DNA tells a very different story. It most closely resembles DNA from an enigmatic lineage of humans known as Denisovans. Until

The United Methodist clergyman convicted of breaking church law for officiating at his son´s same-sex wedding was suspended late Tuesday, and ordered by a jury of his fellow pastors to surrender his credentials in a month if he can´t bring himself to adhere to the laws of the church´s Book of Discipline. Schaefer said he had no intention of changing his mind about the church´s teaching on homosexuality, declaring he would perform more gay marriages if asked.

Tuscaloosa, Ala. - Alabama´s football team is steaming toward Saturday´s showdown with rival Auburn and a possible third consecutive national championship. The team has lost only two games in the past three seasons. But here in Tuscaloosa, there is one small pocket of dissatisfaction—and it´s an important one. It is located inside the home shared by Terry Saban and her husband of 42 years, Nick, the team´s head coach. The first couple of Alabama football may be standing on top of the world, but it isn't necessarily thrilled by the view. "You come to a crossroads and the expectations get so great,

The Parliament also rejected the notion that abortion should be made available within all public health systems of member nations. In exchange, they alleged the McDonnells worked in concert to lend the prestige of the governorship to Williams’s struggling company, a

The bare-bones Wendy Davis story — the one without embellishment — is sufficiently inspiring as a matrix for defying expectations. The daughter of a teenage mother and a teenage mother herself, Davis managed to beat the odds by getting a college education and Ivy League law degree, then launching a political career that’s brought her national adulation. But since Davis’ Democratic gubernatorial ambitions caught fire last year, “facts have been blurred” in the retelling of her life’s story, as reported Sunday by this newspaper’s senior political writer, Wayne Slater.

Time Magazine’s current cover depicts a tiny man hanging onto the heel of a shoe that’s emerging from a pant-suit wearing leg. “Can Anyone Stop Hillary?” reads the accompanying text. Maybe, if the cover also showed her tripping over the Senate Intelligence Committee’s just-released report on the attack that killed four Americans in Benghazi, Libya, while she was secretary of state. If New Jersey Governor Chris Christie must answer for four days of traffic jams on roads leading to the George Washington Bridge, surely Clinton has the same obligation to address a deadly assault that the bipartisan committee found “preventable.”
