President Obama and other Washington politicians are getting a bum rap on TV news as money-grubbers and power-grabbers, views the president´s former top speechwriter calls lies, especially those aimed at his former boss. Jon Favreau told students at Harvard University´s Institute of Politics that TV portrays political leaders wrongly, and that the public ends up with a bad view of those in power. So does this guy want us to ignore Obama´s own words on audio as well as video? This guy is such a punk.

On the other hand, the new speechwriter, whoever it is, has Obama sounding a lot more believable as a President. That is what worries me. The lies are being made so believable now.

Didn´t Obama´s net worth go from $3M to $14M?

Didn´t match Hillary´s overnight investment at least percentage wise.

Gov. Cuomo is making another pitch Monday for Republican heavy hitters to back his re-election campaign. Home Depot founder Ken Langone is hosting a “Republicans for Cuomo” event at the Harvard Club at 8:30 a.m. Cuomo will address the well-heeled Wall Street and real-estate titans and field questions. David Malpass, who ran in the 2010 Republican US Senate primary, also was involved in planning the breakfast, sources said. Cuomo attended a similar event last month. The Cuomo campaign wants to woo Republican backers to keep their big bucks from going to the eventual GOP nominee. Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino is expected to soon

Republican lobbyist Jack Burkman is pushing for legislation that would ban openly gay athletes from the National Football League, spurred on by the recent news about Michael Sam publicly coming out. He is appealing directly to Republican members of Congress to propose a bill on the issue, telling The Huffington Post that there are five House members and one senator “interested in co-sponsoring the bill” and he expects more to join on. Burkman acknowledges that normally, conservatives don’t like the idea of imposing policy on private businesses, but says that this belief is now “trumped for reason of great urgency or

Republicans are unhappy that President Obama is invoking his executive powers to govern in the face of a do-nothing-in-2014 House of Representatives. To hear them talk, you would think our chief executive is modeling himself on the late Hugo Chavez and wants to seize dictatorial control. This, of course, is nonsense. In fact, Obama has in many ways been less aggressive in his use of executive authority than his predecessors. Take the matter of executive orders. According to the American Presidency Project at the University of California at Santa Barbara, Obama issued 147 executive orders in his first term. This compares

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, D-Md., reminded vulnerable Democrats that they can´t "hide" from the Affordable Care Act in the 2014 elections, after a fundraising trip on behalf of one colleague whose allies portrayed her as an Obamacare whistleblower in a recent campaign ad. “The Affordable Care Act is ours,” Hoyer told the Arizona Republic. “You´re not going to hide. You´re not going to duck. It is ours. We promoted it. We believe in it. Sell it. It is good for the country. It is good for Arizona.” He had a chance to give that advice to Rep. It comes as little surprise that the White House is analyzing “big data” collection considering the effectiveness of the 2012 Obama campaign’s personality-tracking voter targeting database created through its “Project Dreamcatcher.” The information from that database is now held by Obama’s nonprofit advocacy group Organizing for Action. Others saw a grossly unconstitutional attempt to press the Obama administration agenda on a broad range of issues. But the FCC´s action may have, in fact, been something different: an attempt -- still grossly unconstitutional in its method -- to lay a foundation for a new government push to increase minority ownership of the nation´s media outlets.
