Unanswered Prayers

As far as I am concerned. Mark Sanford’s win over Curtis Bostic in South Carolina’s First Congressional District GOP runoff represents an unanswered prayer. Sanford continues to combine his mastery of therapeutic psychobabble with an ill-fitting Christian overlay that should be a dead giveaway, as Sanford himself all but acknowledged last night. Sanford is, of course, on a journey of discovery — make that a very long journey, involving the false modesty of the royal we: “It’s been a very long journey. And in that journey I am humbled to find ourselves where we find ourselves

Sanford is a total phony but he knows that most voters today care more about a candidate´s celebrityhood than his integrity.

It´s more than two years away, but Dolly Parton is already making plans to celebrate her 50th anniversary with husband Carl Dean. The huge milestone is likely to involve a second ´wedding´ to renew their vows. ´We’ve talked about that — we might do it all over again!´ the 67-year-old told Closer Weekly. ´Another big wedding.´ The country and western singing legend tied the knot with Carl, now 71, on May 30, 1966, at Ringgold, Ga., partly because he lived nearby in his youth and knew the town.

One week after a Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report created a media firestorm by revealing that the official White House calendar and Politico presidential calendar recorded only a single one-on-one meeting between President Barack Obama and Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, HHS announced it is looking to hire a media firm to help the embattled agency not appear "ignorant and unaware." The HHS hiring notice states that it needs assistance in tracking and monitoring media stories so that HHS staff remain abreast of "how the department and its agencies are being cast in the public eye."

A nuclear arms race is now arising in the Middle East, starting with an Iranian nuke, then a Saudi and Egyptian one. Nobody knows the end game. Obama´s biggest legacy may be worldwide instability for years to come. This administration is coming to an end. If you take away its corruption and thuggery, its constant scapegoating, its weird cast of characters, its astronomical spending, its drone killings of terrorists who were supposed to be dead last year, and its healthcare debacle -- everything comes down to imperial overreach.

ObamaCare was sold to the nation as a compassionate response to the approximately 47 million uninsured Americans. Yet, 30 million Americans will still not be insured even after the frenetic misrepresentation and bribery required to pass the bill and the botched rollout. Plus, the policies of millions of insured Americans are being cancelled and replaced with HHS "approved" policies that have higher premiums. Then, following the wipeout in the individual market, millions of Americans currently covered by employer-provided plans will have their policies cancelled because they are deemed inadequate and unacceptable under the ObamaCare regulations issued by HHS.

Muslims groups around the world are crying Islamophobia and playing the victim card as horrific Islamic-motivated crimes, such as grooming and rape-gangs, rage on with impunity throughout the Western world, especially in Europe. Rape or grooming gangs, which are almost entirely Muslim, are committing a crime that is religiously mandated in Islamic doctrine. Muslim grooming gangs have been operating unchallenged in Europe for over 20 years, especially in the UK, Holland, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, and France.

I am one who steers very clear of tinfoil hat conspiracy theories. I often believe progressives plant stories in order to distract and disrupt, enabling them to pursue their true goals and objectives. That’s why I stress the importance of staying focused on the modern liberal socialist policies of the Obama administration, not the sideshow antics. However, as a former combat commander, I have been trained to look for trends. And I believe we’ve found a very disturbing one. It seems that backdoor gun control is in full effect in the United States.

Wake up, Mom and Dad: your government has its paws all over your children during school hours -- always figuratively, and too often literally. If parents are taken out of the education equation completely, something will fill the vacuum. And that something is bound to be the police state. When kids in Brazil, Indiana participated in a mock drug raid at Clay County Courthouse as part of the annual October Red Ribbon Awareness week, they got a lesson in what it´s like to live in a police state.

Comrade Obama and the Politburo, both conveniently located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, are in the midst of overhauling the nation´s military. Radically so, as befits the nation´s most radical president. Downsizing the armed forces is the cover, in part. The people´s savior is giving the heave-ho to military brass who can´t quite get with the program, which might be described as inflicting a smothering political correctness on the nation´s armed forces. Political correctness is actually too charitable.

It has been disclosed in a recently published book about the 2012 campaign, Double Down by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, that the president told aides that he is "really good at killing people" with drones. I think the president is being far too modest. Drones aren´t the half of it. He´s really good at killing lots of things. With ObamaCare, he is killing the most effective healthcare system in the world.

When Barack Obama rose to national prominence following his 2004 keynote address at the Democratic National Convention, his African-American heritage was a footnote to the fawning reception he received from the media and from most Americans. While the speech was not a case study in brilliant oratory, Illinois State Senator Barack Obama exuded charisma and eloquently discussed an appealing if not particularly original theme of unity and bipartisanship. Fast forward to today. President Obama´s race is no longer a footnote. It is central to his presidency. It is arguably his defining characteristic. Unity and bipartisanship are nowhere to be found. If you thought the political press was taking stock of its 2012 election year coverage of Mitt Romney’s campaign and was preparing to make some course corrections in order to ensure fairer coverage of the GOP candidates ahead of 2016, you would be mistaken. Indeed, the New York Times appears to view 2012 not as an aberration but as a model for how to cover future Republican presidential campaigns. The first indication that the Times is gearing up to make a Mitt Romney out of Chris Christie came in early December as “bridge-gate,” the allegation that New Jersey’s governor sought

Benghazi, Libya - A Boyish-Looking American Diplomat was meeting for the first time with the Islamist leaders of eastern Libya’s most formidable militias. It was Sept. 9, 2012. Gathered on folding chairs in a banquet hall by the Mediterranean, the Libyans warned of rising threats against Americans from extremists in Benghazi.
